    Smash Burger

We love going to the DeLand Eatery for lunch (when it's open for lunch during the week), because they have the best Smash Burgers in town! Also the fries that come with it are delicious! They do have good salads and other delicious items, but the Smash Burger is always hard to resist. Service is always friendly and we like the casual dining area. In cooler weather, they have a great patio. The DeLand Eatery is located inside the historic DeLand Hotel. In the evening, you can order food from the eatery at their beautiful bar.

This place is so cute ! The food was excellent and were so glad we stopped in It's located inside the Deland Hotel which is a really old hotel located on the outskirts of downtown Deland. The eatery was an indoor outdoor area and we chose to sit outside . The prices were decent and the food was really good ! We had bloody Mary's and mimosas as well as their fat kid fries and mozerella sticks with prosciutto wrapped inside . We also had the avocado toast which was good and my boyfriend got a smash burger. The person taking care of us was nice and it was such a gorgeous day out and we weee happy we went ! There was even an art gallery inside the hotel that we were able to select a piece of free art! The only negative is that there was a family that had their sons cartoons on full blast while we were trying to enjoy our food but I guess that's just the norm these days .

WoW -- this vintage hotel -- bar-- restaurant is full of charm. Bartender Ryan crafts quite a nice drink -- the cocktail menu is creative and served with style. The Black Manhattan, Old Fashion, & the Red Wine blend were all greatly enjoyed. The food menu is equally enticing, my Filet Bulgogi Fries were delicious, and I look forward to sampling more menu items. There is inside seating in the Bar & restaurant as well as patio & front porch outside areas. The vintage ambiance and friendly staff make this Deland spot exceptional. I especially like that it is a couple blocks off the main tourist drag -- Quiet & easy to walk to or there is parking in back.

This was well above average. I had my favorite, a smash burger. No complaints on that, the corn side was just so so. Service was ok.

It's not unlike the bars I grew up in - the old vinyl swivel chairs lining the bar, with a stack of glass ashtrays stacked off to the side, two pool tables with a few locals creeping around chalking their 5 piece pool cues looking for a pickup game, smoke filled and dark. We grabbed a table near the back door and the bartenders brought over a few sweating glass bottles of LandShark stuffed with lime wedges, she was friendly and attentive. There were a few small groups scattered around the bar BS'ing and slamming shots along side their chilled glasses of cheap draft. You could tell by the conversation some of these guys have been telling the same stories for years to the same group of friends and often loud enough to be heard by a few strangers like me - it seems the first liar doesn't stand a chance. Although I've been passing this bar for years this was my first time stopping in but it definitely won't be my last, they used to call these working man bars, today I'd say that could be somewhat true but I think some of the patrons probably open this bar and few others close it everyday - there were a few philosophers at the bar giving advice to whomever would listen, even if the sky was falling you wouldn't be able to tell inside here. It's definitely a bar that makes what you think is your last beer isn't always your last beer...

The ambiance was inviting, stylish, and felt like the perfect setting for a weekend experience with friends. The food overall was good. The shrimp and grits were definitely the highlight for me full of flavor and well done. The steak, however, wasn't my favorite and didn't quite hit the mark. The fruit bowl was exactly that fruit in a bowl nothing special but fresh. The banana pudding was delicious and a sweet way to end the meal. The service was a bit inconsistent, which I believe was due to the waitress being very busy. There were a few moments where we waited longer than expected for menus, straws, or even water. While noticeable, it didn't completely take away from the experience and felt more like a staffing issue than a lack of care. Overall, I would absolutely return for brunch with friends. The atmosphere alone makes it worth another visit, and with the right company, it's a great spot to enjoy a relaxed and beautiful brunch experience.

For appetizers, we tried the coconut shrimp, Table tots, spinach dip, and charcuterie. Everything was fantastic except the shrimp, which were a bit overcooked. The rest of the starters were flavorful and well prepared. Most of our group ordered the NY strip since they were out of the filet, while others chose the meatloaf, mushroom pasta, and a few other dishes. Portions were generous and the food was tasty. While the strip wasn't the best I've had, it was cooked perfectly. Dessert was a bit hit or miss. We tried all the pies -- most were decent and nicely presented, though nothing stood out. The salted caramel cheesecake had a grainy texture rather than being smooth. Service was friendly, but a little rushed. Courses came out too quickly, making it hard to enjoy each one before the next arrived. The table became crowded with plates, and the pace felt chaotic at times. The server was kind and seemed possibly overwhelmed. Overall, a good meal with solid food, but pacing and a few execution details could use some attention.

This will definitely be a place to go when we visit our friends. This is what the name implies, a bar, nothing else. They have tables, seating at the bar and high-top tables. They have a few food options, mostly appetizers with a few sandwiches and quesadillas. We did not get any food since we had just eaten dinner. Apparently, their cowboy candy is the most popular item, its candied jalapenos over cream cheese with crackers. Maybe next time. They do sell bottle beer; it is really what most of the alcohol consists of. They do have their menu divided into categories so if you know what you are looking for it helps. They also have draft beer which rotates throughout the year, so there might be something new on the menu. I personally am not a huge fan of specialty beer like sours, and porters, but my husband is so he really enjoyed looking through the different options. I honestly cannot remember the two beer my husband tried but I know one had a really high ABV and the other one was really sour. He seemed to enjoy both, so I guess that's good. I choose to get a glass of wine instead. They have only a few wine options but also have mead. I have never had it before, but our friends were very much fans of it. The wine selection is small, but I just went with a Moscato. All in all, this is a fine bar if you are in the area. I would say if you were not a beer fan this might not be for you. They do not make any liquor style drinks only beer and wine. All in all, not bad, we would for sure go back when visiting friends in the area.

She replied that she knew we were going to the show and that they were booked pretty heavily and sometimes the kitchen might be backed up in that situation. She told us about the specials in excellent detail, all the while keeping a genuine smile on her face. We worked the timing details out and Amber was on top of it. My wife had the Cress Salad and I had the Escargot appetizer. Main course came out when we finished the salad and appetizer. Let me explain... we thought the tuna tartar was delicious. The elk bolognese seems to enjoyable. My shirmp and grits was a bit on the salty side. I'm glad I asked for sauce on the side, and even with half the sauce, it was still too much. The most disappointing part is the chicken tikka masala. There was tiny bits of chicken, and too too much root vegetables, at different cooking levels, which make it both confusing and slighly annoying. Last, we tried the creme brulee, and the top was essentially a layer of slightly cooked sugar... I'll try the scallops next time. Maybe.
