VEGAN TLT
Natalie K.

So happy to find multiple vegan options at this cute artisan restaurant in Deland- all are clearly labeled. The TLT sandwich was delicious with a generous portion of tempeh, and toasty sourdough bread. The crispy garbanzo side is also tasty, but slightly overdressed with some sort of creamy sauce. My parents enjoyed their respective dishes- burger and poke bow. The poke bowl has a tad too much mayo dressing. Would ask for that on the side in the future. Sweet potato fries were excellent!! Service was pretty good- food came out slightly on the slow side. Ambience is very casual overall. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Overall I will def return when back in Deland !

WOW! WOW wow wow , their food was so good! We came here on a recommendation from my aunt who was friends with the owner and it did not disappoint. The ambiance inside is very nice with tall ceilings and exposed vents . All of the staff were nice and they even turned down the a/c for us when it was blowing right over our table . But the main thing I want to touch on is the food !! Oh wow ! We split the boulevard sandwich which was grilled chicken, lettuce, goat cheese and other toppings. It was really really yummy. We also had their fries and the turkey pot pie soup which might have been my favorite of all of them . A couple beers to round that out and we had a great meal! Everything is very fresh here and humanely sourced which is amazing . I would HIGHLY recommend this place to eat , whether is breakfast lunch or dinner , their food will wow you:)!

5 Star food. The nachos in the picture are the best nachos I've ever had. SOLID. Every bite was filled with guacamole, or jalapeños or poke!!!! Wow. Come ask for Luis. He is a very nice guy and very attentive.

Food was good service was ok first thing they tell us is the kitchen is going on break order fast she was nice about it but still seems odd the whole kitchen is on break at the same time. Either way ordering was easy the menu is not crazy big but does have options. I had the southern chick biscuit with pimento cheese and home fries chicken was cooked well but cooked in old greasy so it had that bitter burnt flavor. My wife had the breakfast grilled cheese I liked it she did not care for the mustard. The toast and nut butter needs honey or jelly it was kinda dry. Overall food was ok if the chicken was cooked In fresh greasy it would have been amazing.

We love going to BakeChop. This fun and funky luncheon dinner place is exactly what you would expect in Deland's artisan alley. The food is delicious, well prepared and artfully presented. They offer coffee, teas, soft drinks, wine, and beer as well. The kitchen staff has always prepared our meals perfectly - the food is perfectly prepared and seasoned and nicely presented. But the stand out with BakeChop? Beyond measure it is the staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Though BakeChop tends to be a little bit busy especially at lunchtime, the staff is always there to help if you need something, and even though they are busy, their attitude is always pleasant and helpful.,

Deland is such a delightful little town and they're downtown just has the cutest shops. I had heard from others about the bake chop and it did not disappoint. First our server, Cohen was adorable, efficient, attentive and an all around exceptional server!! My husband had the teriyaki chicken bowl and he loved every bite. I had a marinated mushroom burger with avocados, sweet pickles, lettuce, tomato, sprouts and a wonderful aïoli. It's meant to be a sandwich, but I'm not eating carbs so I had it on the plate and skewered it all together so I could experience the "sandwich" taste. The grand finale was the salted caramel honey homemade cheesecake. It was definitely yummy.

My brother is moving to this area in the next few months and we decided to tour the local restaurant scene. The energy of the restaurant was very warm and inviting and our server was super friendly. My brother ordered the vegan tempeh dish, I had the Mediterranean bowl, and my dad had one of the burgers with fried polenta on the side. We also got a shrimp appetizer. Food was served quickly, our waters were refilled regularly, and the food was just spectacular! When I visit him again in the future, I will be sure to make sure we stop by here again.

The service here is very attentive and friendly. This is a cute little place in downtown next to the brewery. The food here was amazing. Literally the best hamburger I have ever had. Get the burger with French onion! It is amazing. The sweet potato fries were also very good and crunchy, which is hard to find. I love this place.

This is a cute little restaurant with a viewing kitchen. It is very clean and looks very appealing. The server was above and beyond. He answered all our questions about the food, the restaurant, the community and otherwise. He was so knowledgeable and friendly we couldn't have asked for any better. The food was one of the best we've found in Florida. From vegan options to meat eaters there are so many things to choose from and the best part is that they make all the sauces, etc from scratch. We already have our next meals planned. We will 100% be back soon!!

Still thinking about BakeChop because... wow First, that Mediterranean Bowl -- creamy lemon orzo, kale & cabbage, roasted zucchini and squash, sun-dried tomatoes, house-made hummus, olive tapenade, and those crispy fried capers that tie it all together Every bite felt like sunshine and comfort in a bowl. And because I clearly couldn't stay away, I went back the next morning for breakfast and had the Rizo & Shine -- perfectly seasoned house-made chorizo, creamy avocado, cotija, and just the right kick of flavor. Absolutely amazing from first bite to last! Safe to say BakeChop is officially a new favorite

The service was great. Very welcoming and attentive. Latte had good flavor, their syrups are little on the sweeter side so I would recommend asking for a light flavor if you don't like yours too sweet. 1/3 dishes were perfect. The hash bowl would be the only recommendation. The food had some errors that I couldn't ignore. The grits had lots of clumps with uncooked bits. The flavor was there just needed to be cooked better. Since two of our dishes had a side of bread we requested jam. They only had their berry compote. Which we were NOT told would be an added cost. Scrambled eggs on one of the dishes was too dry and not fluffy. It could have just been the day but our visit just missed the mark.

This place is foodie heaven! Especially if you like food that is local and scratch made. The ever changing menu keeps delighting and surprising me every time I come back. I don't live in the area but if I'm anywhere near here (like today I was at Blue Springs) I make it an effort to eat at BakeChop! This local fav is located in Deland in the Artisan Alley area - a quaint couple of adjacent streets that are closed on Friday nights for a market with vendors set up in the alleyways and every few months for the Deland Indie Market (a great time to visit). There's breweries, taco trucks, juice bars and more nearby so you can make a whole day out of it - plus Freedom Park a few blocks away for the kids (epic park, check my reviews!) The food at BakeChop ranges from grass fed burgers to ahi tuna poke bowls along with vegetarian, gluten free, and bun free options for entrees and apps. Their sides are always unique and tasty - and their menu is loaded with good options! It's almost hard to pick just one...but make sure you leave room for dessert! They have a glorious pastry case with desserts that are as unique and thoughtful as the rest of the food that BakeChop offers.

What a pleasant surprise this tiny place was. Probably the best poke bowl I've had and I've had hundreds (maybe thousands) The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were perfect. We also had the cucumber watermelon sangria which was refreshing and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!

I ordered, a buffalo chicken wrap, shocker lol and my husband got a hot Italian sub. Let's just say this man was so happy with his sub and blushed the whole time eating it. We're both from MA and had a pizza place near us that had 2 items we have never found a replacement for in the 10 years we've been here; their pizza and their Italian subs. Until today. The bread was perfectly soft on the inside but had a good crunch on the outside. The meats were super fresh and perfectly toasted. And completed with a good dollop of mayo on top! 1000/10 for that Italian sub My Buffalo wrap was amazing as well! A good amount of chicken, and buffalo sauce which made me happy because those 2 ingredients can make or break it. Either they put too much sauce or not enough chicken. Not here. 10/10 BCR

It included chipotle dressing that added a little heat. It hit the spot. The food was brought quickly to our table. There were larger tables in the lobby. Overall, we were pleased with this experience.

Reservations very strongly recommended, we didn't do that. Quoted a 45 minute wait but seated in about 20. Service was outstanding, even given the fact that the other members of my party are rank Philistines. Bartender, server, chef, runners, literally everyone was as impeccable as anyone has ever uttered the words "impeccable service." The food was very, very good. I had a salad with ahi that had exactly the right proportions of every ingredient. Everyone else loved their entrees, however which I won't get into since the menu changes frequently. Scratch kitchens like this make what they can with what they get, and this one is shining example of how good that can be. Dessert was one of the best slices of cheesecake I've ever had, and a gelato flight with some insane flavor profiles. It was, in a word, outstanding. 4 (extremely good) martinis, app, two entrees, two dessert, clocked at a reasonable $140 pre-tip. Go here and eat a succulent meal. Worth every cent.

The crust is worth noting, it has that cornmeal-style texture. If you like a slightly gritty, rustic bite, you'll be into it. Overall, good flavor, just know what you're ordering. The shrimp and grits were definitely the highlight for me full of flavor and well done. The steak, however, wasn't my favorite and didn't quite hit the mark. The fruit bowl was exactly that fruit in a bowl nothing special but fresh. The banana pudding was delicious and a sweet way to end the meal. The service was a bit inconsistent, which I believe was due to the waitress being very busy. There were a few moments where we waited longer than expected for menus, straws, or even water. While noticeable, it didn't completely take away from the experience and felt more like a staffing issue than a lack of care. Overall, I would absolutely return for brunch with friends.
