He made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was bright, clean, open, and relaxing. The menu had a moderate amount of items to choose from, and it was difficult to choose just one meal. THIS RESTAURANT TREATS THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE TRASH! My father worked there as a dish washer. He was supposed to get paid a little over $500 for his work and the owner of the restaurant never paid him. Not only did they not pay him but when he tried to dispute the issue they ultimately let him go. So he essentially worked for free and to this day they did not pay him. They treated him as a 2nd class citizen. They also hire illegals and I am very certain they treat them even worse since my dad is a U.S. citizen. I also have eaten here in the past and their food at best is mediocre. read more

I'm surprised this place isn't busy all the time! It was mostly empty when we arrived. They have booths along the side and tables in the middle and left side of the restaurant. I was surprised by the music playing, it was a very good mix of different genres in all languages. The food: They give you garlic knots while you wait. I ordered the chicken parmesan which was good once I added some parmesan cheese. The Mendalioane de Porc in Sos de Ciuperci was amazing. We also ordered a Greek salad. Good place, pleasant atmosphere, good authentic Romanian food and drinks. Had a business dinner here, Daniela the waitress was pleasant, knowledgeable and she impressed my colleagues. My wife and I were missing home in Ukraine and wanted to find a restaurant that had familiar dishes. Thankfully we found Veranda restaurant . We had stuffed cabbage and borscht the first time and stewed pork polenta and kebab skewers the second time. Delicious healthy meals, pleasant environment and super nice hosts. ZERO STARS! I reserve a booking for 15 people for my bday. Half the party got food and drinks, the other half had to wait 2 hours for there food and never got there drinks. Not even WATER! Eastern European food you can't get many (if any) other places in Orlando with warm, welcoming service and a cool atmosphere located in a large shopping dining area on the corner of OBT and Sand Lake (near Chipotle and Izzi Korean and across from HonesT Indian). They have a full bar and menu items and wines from Moldova, Romania, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russia, Greece, and Turkey. We've been here a couple of times in the past few weeks and have not been disappointed. If this food is new to you, as it was to me, the servers (who are from all over the world) are very kind and happy to explain and recommend options. I read reviews online and wanted to try this place. When we got there my husband and I were hesitant to go inside cause it was empty at 6pm on a Saturday. We went in and was seated immediately. The decor was a little strange to me, had this club/traditional feel to it. There were rounded booths for more intimacy or regular tables and the lighting wasn't too dark but yet it wasn't bright. The music playing was a loud funkadelic style to it. Our orders were taken and we were served quickly. Another customer walked in 10 minutes after we did and occasionally people, I assume friends walked in to say hi to the wait staff and then left. Our food came...we ordered the fried calamari which had too much breading but not enough crunch. I ordered the cabbage rolls and stuffed grape leaves with grilled veggies and my husband had the lamb chops and polenta but they put the polenta on my plate and the grilled veggies on his plate. I told them it was fine. The cabbage rolls were ok and the grape leaves could've had more texture. My husband thought the lamb chops were excellent. He preferred a Black Russian drink which was good. We didn't order dessert though. It's a fairly new establishment I'm assuming and work does need to be done to find it's identity. There is some room for improvement though but some positives as well. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch and were very pleasantly surprised by how great the food was! The Olivier and vinaigrette salads were so good I ordered some to take home. The solyanka soup makes me want to try all of the other soups since it was so good, and the pizza was wonderful as well. I'm usually not a fan of most pizza after living in New York, but it was better than most places I've tried in the area. Impressive since this isn't just a pizza place! This restaurant was a culinary delight! The snivel de Pui(Chicken schnitzel was very tasty. I chose the grilled vegetables which was zucchini, eggplant, and mushrooms. They were perfect. The Moscow Mule was a great accompaniment. I finished the meal off with a cup of cappuccino and the Clatite cu Branza si Stfide ( crepes stuffed with sweet cheese). It was amazing! This is a must if you are interested in authentic Eastern European fare. The service was great and the ambiance was great. They had a huge screen to view various countries and their country side. I put 1 Star JUST because it's impossible to post a review without it . I made a reservation for my mother's birthday for Saturday night . When we walked in we were told that they're having a private party . I called to the restaurant on Friday afternoon ,then I made a reservation through the web site . No info about party . And , of course, no notice about it even though they had my e mail and number . However , I got a text message like 5 min ago , I assume from the owner , that we're welcome to get 20 % discount next time . Why didn't he text about private party ? I don't know either. THANK YOU ! My girlfriends and I stumbled across Veranda when looking for a new place to have lunch. We opted for a variety of Romanian dishes and all I can say is WOW!!! When I say everything we had was amazing, I mean EVERYTHING. The taste, presentation and portion sizes of everything was great. Service from Marcel was also phenomenal. He took time to explain recommended dishes to us and many of the items we ordered were based off of his recommendations. Marcel let us know about a bunch of events they have each week as well as some fun changes in the coming months. Veranda will definitely be a new regular spot to visit. This place just opened for a few months. There is some work that needs to be done. The walls is wallpaper brick which I found a bit disappointing as the rest looked really nice. The Kompot was delicious and I love they left fruit in my drink(I ordered a pitcher don't know if that's the same for a single glass). Salad and lamb was perfectly portioned and filling. Fettuccine Alfredo with roasted chicken was good but I was expecting a bigger portion. The garlic knots are delicious, but they are really buttery but like it that way. However all dishes had a whole twig of parsley, which I personally didn't care for. There is other ways to dress entrees with not just parsley, but I think they are still learning on what works and what doesn't. The medovik was so light and delicious. They updated the recipe to be a honey cake instead of coffee and it was good. The Clatite cu Branza si Stafide is basically a cream cheese crepe and nothing else. read more

This is not an Italian, it is Eastern European. The food here was EXCELLENT!!! They make EVERYTHING (except the french fries, calamari, and one other thing I'm blanking on - as the owner very conscientiously informed us) in house themselves. The results are spectacular and you can truly taste both the freshness and the pride they bring to their mission of feeding people. We ordered lots of different things (dressed herring, smoked salmon on baguette, soup, kompote, cheese and meat platter, mixed grill, and more) and loved everything. When we had a question about a side, they brought us a little cup of it to try. Be aware that because things are freshly made, there are no preservatives, so eat any leftovers quickly :) We got an order of syrniki to go for breakfast the next day - very smart choice :) It was a fabulous breakfast!! Went here since the hubby brought a local flavor. As soon as we walked in and were seated the hubby mentioned we were going to use the local flavor. The waitress said we would have to spend a minimum of 45.00 to use the 30.00 local flavor we had already purchased. No where did it say we would have to spend an additional amount to use the coupon that we already purchased. She called over the manager (I believe his name was Minion) who said the same thing. He also said he doesn't have a contract with them any longer and they were supposed to have it in there print. It does not. I'm so glad that Romanian food has finally made its way to Orlando. Today was my second time here in two weeks and though my first visit set the bar high, I was not disappointed today. The placinte with cabbage has been a favorite each time, as well as the bors rosu. I haven't liked salata de boeuf in the past, but the way they do the dish here changed that for me. Today we also got the costite de miel and they've made a lamb-lover out of me. For dessert, we got Medovik and the blintzes and both were delicious without being too sweet. An excellent find! We were looking for an alternative to the chain Italian restaurants and came upon this new place. While having several traditional pasta dishes this place had Eastern European fare as well. We had five different t dishes and all were exceptional. The chicken parmigiana was a different presentation but was delicious. The pasta carbonara was exceptional. We also had a dish called Mamaliga cu Friptura de Porc, which was a slow stewed pork chunk. Phenomenal! Even our picky eater 3 year old twins loved the chicken schnitzel. They also had Coltunasi cu Cartofi si Branza (like a pierogi) which were outstanding. Throw in the delicious bread knots and a great Romanian beer and we were all happy campers. I will definitely make a trip here on my trip to Orlando. read more
