Stopped by Waffle House on International Drive for breakfast while on vacation with my family. We waited about 15 minutes for a table for four, which was understandable since it's a small and busy location. Once seated, we were greeted by Angela, who was pleasant and seemed experienced. She took our order, and the food itself was good. Unfortunately, the service after that was disappointing. We had to ask multiple times for condiments and, more importantly, for our check. I asked to pay three or four times, but each time it seemed to be forgotten. While waiting, I noticed other tables being helped as our requests continued to be overlooked. Eventually, I got up and walked to the register to pay. A coworker asked Angela for our check, but she disappeared into the back before we were able to complete the transaction. The food met our expectations, but the lack of attentiveness made what should have been a quick breakfast take much longer than necessary. I understand that restaurants get busy, but a little more communication and follow-up would have made a big difference. read more

Absolutely ridiculous experience at Waffle House. My order showed up missing multiple items, and somehow they couldn't even be bothered to include basic condiments. How do you send out food with no syrup, no utensils, no sauces, and still expect customers to be satisfied? I paid full price for a half-complete meal and was left annoyed, hungry, and disappointed. Attention to detail clearly doesn't exist here anymore. If you're going to charge people for food, at least make sure the entire order is actually there before handing it out. First time visiting a Waffle House and walking in you are greeted and friendly servers. The reason for my 3 star review is due to the fact that the food quality was not very good. The we ordered the All Star combos the price is very reasonable but the sausages and eggs were too salty. The toast did not come with any butter or jelly and the waffle didn't not taste like a fresh made waffle. Hope their quality improves but overall okay to grab a quick bit and get to where you need to. Right next to universal studios. read more

I was taken here by my friends in Miami as it was necessary for the full Florida experience. This was my first time at a Waffle House, and given the name I expected more, you know, waffles on the menu. The setup is pretty awkward, especially when it's crowded. Barely any room between the register and the exit, so it gets cramped when there are people waiting for a table and others paying their bill. I ordered coffee, a pecan waffle, and a side of bacon. The coffee was surprisingly decent. The waffle was okay, a step above waffles from the frozen aisle of the grocery store, but below many other waffles I've had. The bacon was pretty good, nice and crispy, but $3+ for three bacon strips is a bit much. However my total bill came out to under $10 so all things considered that is a good deal. The waitress was a sweetheart so really that's the only thing that stood out to me. The bathroom is nasty though, rust around the sink and lord knows when the last time that toilet was cleaned. I've seen nicer bathrooms at gas stations in the middle of nowhere. read more

Late night review! Yes long day and I haven't eat dinner. Well let's dinner at Waffle House! Place is decent I have to say. The staff in kind but the late hours are showing through the idea of a fabulous morning. I had plenty of seating to choose from and the service came in a reasonable time. My order went straightforward the grill; eggs, grits, hash-browns, bacon and toast. The place could use a deeper cleaning, but nothing unusual for Waffle House. My food was cook just pretty good bacon was to died for, but my eggs a little over cooked: over medium I requested, but not so much to complain. Ah Waffle House, the drunken haven for the middle of nowhere. 3am and nothing open except this place and IHOP; the choice was easy. Several staff present and surprisingly chipper despite it being late at night. Wanted everything but managed to limit myself to one meal - The Texas Bacon Patty Melt w/ hashbrowns ($6-7ish I believe). Lightly toasted bread with a thin patty, cheese, and a solid helping of bacon (with crumbles of extra meat on top). A giant oily mess of fattening tastiness. Hashbrowns are your regular fare, best served with a mashup of hot sauce and ketchup. Again, the people working the place were in good spirits despite the time of day. Our food came out quickly in to-go containers and kept well on the ride back. Definitely not as tasty the next day, so eat quick. read more

Typically, I love Waffle House. It's low cost, delicious munchie food. On November 10th, my girlfriend and I stopped in after a music festival. It was around 2:30 a.m., and we noticed that there were other people also eating there already who were from the same festival -- donning the same attire as us, which were short shorts and glitter. Upon being seated, we waited another five minutes before anyone came to serve us. Finally, the waitress approached and instead of asking us our drink order, she addressed ME about my girlfriend. She asked that my girlfriend leave to put pants on, otherwise we would not be served. What? And why was she addressing me, when my girl was right in front of her face? So I asked her why. She replied "well, it makes some of the customers uncomfortable". Let me tell you -- we were wearing THE SAME THING. Same shorts, different colors. Not only was it extremely rude of the waitress to not even look her mt girlfriend in her face and address HER, but it was mortifying as well. I was astonished. What brings me to another level of anger is this: my girlfriend has short hair, and looks boyish at times. She doesn't look traditionally "femme". So, at almost 3 a.m. in the morning, we are being asked to leave an establishment when all we wanted were $2 waffles. Seriously? The prejudice was disgusting, mortifying, and plain wrong. We left and drove a few miles to the next Waffle House (Orange Blossom Trail) where were were greeted warmly and told them our story. They were also appalled, especially because HELLO -- it's 3 a.m. and all of Orlando was flooded with festival goers. They then apologized profusely, and we were given the best service as well as friendly conversation. A total 180° from the Kirkman establishment. We won't return to this location, but instead share the story of digusting humans that work here and spread this kind of hate. Screw your prejudice. read more

It's your average, run of the mill Waffle House. However, this is a good Waffle House, and trust me, I've seen my fair share of bad ones. The restaurant is clean, the servers and the cook were friendly, and the food was cooked perfectly. They didn't even mind my little OCD issue of having to have items on separate plates because I can't stand for my food to touch. We went in the middle of the week during the off-season at midday, so they weren't very busy. I'm sure during the peak times of the year, especially with it being so close to Disney, they get pretty slammed at times. Have you ever seen a large Waffle House? No. They are all relatively the same size. So if it's packed full when you get there with tons of people standing around waiting for a table and you don't want to wait, then leave and go somewhere else rather than come on here and complain. Duh... there are only so many tables and when they are very busy waiting is the only option if you really want to eat there. If you don't want to wait, there's a Perkins down the road. This Waffle House brings me good memories because it is so affordable than a few years ago, I was sooo but sooo broke that I was vegetarian for months not by choice, and this was the first restaurant that I could buy some kind of "meat patty" (actually, my friend bought for me lol). The waffles from here have always been a guilty pleasure as long as it has the peanut butter chips. This store get 2 stars because I'm pretty sure they over charged me, and it's hard to tell since the receipt isn't itemized, but when I was looking online to order, the price estimated to be around $11. I was charged $15 and change for 2 double waffles. They were good as usual, but if this was dishonesty, I wont be coming back to this location. read more

**Great service, it's their food that turned me off** This menu is definately deceiving. Stopped by after a night at City Walk, luckily I wasnt starving. My husband and I decided to share their All- Star special because, based on their photos, it was HUGE! The photo hows the waffle on a plate as large as the one holding the toast, eggs and grits. What actully came out was a thin waffle on a plate a little bigger then the plate you put under your coffee cup. It was cheap, tasted fine, I'm just not a fan of surprises. The waitress, Aesha, made me feel like I was bothering her when I had to remind her of stuff she forgot, an example after 10mins of waiting for Coffee and OJ - "Excuse me, we're still needing Coffee and Orange Juice.", her response "... I'm making it right now." Waited for quite a long time on a Sunday morning. About 40 minutes. The establishment was a bit small and seems like it's in need of an expansion. When we finally sat down, we already knew what we wanted to order. I ordered the all star special and was able to substitute the grits with hash browns with no extra charge. The waitresses were really friendly and food came out quickly after we ordered. The place itself had one of the dirtiest floors I've ever seen. For a place called Waffle House, I thought the waffles would taste better. Mine was soggy and wasn't very appetizing. The eggs and bacon were pretty good but nothing special. The orange juice was a bit on the sour side. However, I really enjoyed the hash browns and the fact that the strips of potato was on the thicker side. It was crispy and perfectly seasoned with salt. Overall, not bad. I'd probably come back when it's not so busy and I'm in need for a cheap American breakfast. Don't go to the building with the tall waffle house sign. Disgusted and very disappointed! My husband and I came for a late night snack, we have never heard of this place before (as we are not from here) but we thought we'd try it out being so late at night. As we arrived I had a weird feeling about eating here but since we walked a fair bit from our hotel we thought we may as well go inside. The staff members were nice and polite to us but they need to do a better job about this place - it's disgusting! Everything is just dirty, old and just shocking! My husband thought the food was ok. I ended up eating a burger at McDonald's next door as I couldn't continue to stay and eat here. A food and safety inspection needs to take place ASAP! read more

The gf and I started our days before heading into Universal here with full bellies!! Both mornings we came here which was a short walk from the AirBnB we stayed at. Drinks: Each morning I had their southern sweet tea which was very refreshing. The gf needs her coffee and she said it was delicious and a good start to her day. Breakfast: Both mornings we had their hash browns and double waffles!! Very filling and did well on my gfs vegan belly. They did not bother her one bit! First time coming here and everyone was looking with judging eyes. Went in and one of the workers told me and friends we can sit anywhere, which we did. So we sat and no one came up to take our order or let us know to order in the front or anything. We waited for at least 15 minutes and no one still acknowledged us or even try to help us. We tried to make eye contact and they all just broke it and continue to ignore us. Before we decided to leave we saw a couple of the waitstaff helping other tables and continued to ignore us which was two other tables and us only. So it wasn't busy enough to forget we're there. Once we decided to leave then they said have a good day. The only other time they spoke to us. One of my friends asked if we were supposed to order up at the register or someone was supposed to take our order and she said oh you can order here while we're all walking out already. Definitely a late night food spot after a long night. I've eaten here twice since I've been in Orlando and both times it was after a long night and from what I can remember, the food here was alright. I like to describe it as the mid point between IHop and diner in terms of the taste and quality of the waffles/breakfast options. You don't get a generic waffle bacon and eggs like you would at IHOP but you also don't get the mom and pop style breakfast. You are caught inbetween, which isn't too bad. The waffles are thin, crunchy/soggy but with enough syrup its good. You can add chocolate chips to spice it up but if youre a purest then just go with the plain. The eggs are just eggs. Hashbrowns are good, the top layer is crunchy and the middle is soft. Overall, not a terrible place to eat. If you happen to pass by, stop and give it a shot. read more

This is a review from someone who has never been to a Waffle House but everyone keeps saying how good it is so when you finally land on the east coast this is the first place you go. It was not very clean from the minute I walked in. The metal crate holding the condiments was completely rusty and there was dead and live ants crawling in the window sill. However, we still stayed and ordered food. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. The portion size is nice. I got full off of the sweet tea alone. I was thrown back how the cheese they size is American cheese and they just throw that shit on everything! LOL! A square piece of cheese in the middle of grits? My girlfriend really wanted to try Waffle House since there were so many on the east coast. We figured we'd try it on our vacation. Big mistake. Should have went to the Denny's by our hotel. It was very good and had very good service when we went. I didn't really mention anything to the workers because they seemed like they would talk lots of crap about you in the corner and spit in your food. I just observed, ate, and left. When I walked in, there were at least 9 people working in a very small space. Do they really need that many people working for a few tables? We sat at the front counter area. Right as we sat down, one male worker was on his cell phone and greeted us as he was doing something on it. Very unprofessional to be on your cell phone while you are working. We finally ordered and our female server brought out our waters and utensils. My fork has a smudge of something sticky on it. I noted it and cleaned it myself. I ordered their regular meal, which came with a waffle, egg whites, 2 slices of bread, grits, and sausage. My girlfriend ordered chocolate chip blueberry pancakes. The food was nasty. My egg whites were cold, probably due to cooking them first. The grits were whatever. The waffles had nothing special to it at all. For the chocolate, it seemed like it was from a bag and thrown on the waffle. As we were eating, one of the cooks made himself food and walked to the corner of the front counter to eat. He was eating about 6-8 feet from us. From watching all these restaurant and bar help shows, you should never eat in front of customers, as well as use your cell phones. Then, our server walks over to the cook eating with a spoon, spooned a big portion of his grits into her mouth, and went back to work. After about 5 minutes, 3 other workers sat next to him and ate their breakfast. One of them were that male server on his cell phone from earlier. Were any of them actually on break? As new customers came in, that male server greeted them across the room with his mouth full. 5 minutes after that, our own server sat down and ate breakfast too. You know when it's time to go when you can look your server in the eye while both of you are eating. The layout inside was poorly done. Their cash register was recessed back, so if someone was sitting in front of it, you would have to reach over someone to pay. The bathrooms were gross.
