Very disappointed in food but even more the service. We were there for a pre-concert dinner, with a definite time to depart, and the staff and kitchen totally blew it. Worse, they seemed not particularly concerned as it was getting later and later, they skipped one of our orders and then delivered it too late to eat, and the food was adequate but definitely not worth the wait or the price. I had the special (fish) which lacked flavor - salt had to suffice. Find another option in Lenox or nearby - Church Street remains my favorite in Lenox. read more

Though the food is tasty, the service is horrendous. The food took about an hour to come when the place was next to empty. When the food did come after the long wait I quickly noticed three things. They forgot the bacon to the bacon burger, gave chips when I had asked for fries, and gave me a very well-done burger when I ordered medium-rare. The french fries were also very very salty, almost inedible. Overall, the service was very poor, the waiter wasn't easy to find, the food took long to arrive, and they messed up the order a few times. When I attempted to order wings they said that they ran out. What kind of "pub" runs out of wings. They also included a large tip as part of the check. I definitely will not be returning and would not recommend that you go. read more

Worst experience there this summer Server mixed up our order, forgot to bring things. Asked for bread with falafel app. Never brought it. Never brought water that we asked for. Server kept walking past us and never stopped to see if we wanted more drinks, which we did, but couldn't get his attention. Never brought olive oil for salads which we asked for when we ordered . Mine came with so much dressing that I couldn't have it. Orig. asked for none, Just olive oil on the side. They knew we were unhappy , rightfully so, said they would bring an apple crisp for the table on them. Then someone else came over and told us they have no more. Entire night was so bad and off, and not the first time for us either. We spoke to the owner who was drinking at the bar on the way out. She couldn't care less. We'll never go back there . Doesn't matter how nice you redo the inside. If the service is awful and staff is Indifferent, and the owner doesn't do the right thing, the customers won't come back! read more

No way would I ever go back here. We have a place up here for many years and stay up here all summer but somehow never ate here until this past Saturday night. What a disaster. IF the staff had been more attentive or at least apologetic for the LACK of service and HUGE delay in placing and receiving the bar order and the food then MAYBE we would try it again. To recount the numerous incidents would be far too lengthy. Even the owner seemed annoyed at us that we were finally complaining to her! The food was good but the menu is very limited. OH.....one more big thing......the room we were in was so noisy that it was insane. Try another restaurant. We have sooooo many good ones here. Retry - - NO WAY. read more

On the bright side our server was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food was horrendous! My wife ordered a veggie burger. It was inedible. Actually, it tasted like Stovetop stuffing -chicken broth and all. I ordered quinoa and feta cakes...equally not delicious. Fortunately the manager took both off our bill without my having to bring it up as an option. read more

Uninspired menu. Average food. Dreadful service, which clearly was a management issue.

setting was fantastic. great porch seating. blood orange martini is fantastic. we waited over an hour to get bread for the table, and when we did it was clearly microwaved foccacia (we had wanted more of the grilled bread to dip in our mussel sauce). we had to ask 3 different staff members for bread, by the way. we waited even longer to get our food, and when that happened the food was pretty awful :( my summer linguini was bland and underseasoned. the waitress switched two of our burgers, giving the veggie burger to the regular burger person, and the regular meat burger to the vegetarian. wrong toppings, as well. we paid way too much for the meal to have been so terrible. i'd suggest Nudel, or Brava in Lenox. They pay attention to the food and to the customers. read more

Totally incompetent service. Walked out after 1/2 hour as did other couples. Restaurant almost empty to begin with.

Food was fair, that is the ones of us that actually got the right order, prices a bit high and the service was down right slow, I mean slooooooooow, can't and won't recommend. Save yourself the the wait and try another establishment. read more

While everywhere else on Church Street was hopping, this place was surprisingly slow for a Thursday night in Lenox. ( Now I know why!) The atmosphere is inviting, but that's about as far as it goes. Our server was pleasant, but inattentive. We waited 45 mins to and hour for our meals, which were overpriced and underwhelming. The server was M.I.A. for most of the evening, making some of us wait 20 minutes with an empty glass in front of us before asking if we would like another drink. My husband had scallops that looked and tasted burnt. The $35 NY strip steak was chewy and bland, and the $17 burger was small and unimpressive. We were a party of 7 (with a reservation), and only 2 of us liked our meals. I don't mind paying top dollar for excellent food and service, but we had neither! I'm not opposed to returning for a drink at the bar, but never eating here again! read more

I stopped into Firefly to try the Three course menu in August. I had the gazpacho, it was delishous. I followed that with the roasted chicken, and it was so tender and moist, I didn't need a knife. For dessert I had a choice of a chocolate mousse, a brownie Sunday, or a blueberry and peach cobbler. The waitress, Estelle, said that all the desserts were home made in the in house bakery. I wen for the cobbler and it came out toast warm with a little whipped cream on it. I had en excellent dinning experience at Firefly and was very happy with the $25 3 course dinner. I will be back soon Firefly! read more

My trip to Firefly was a mixed bag. My soup came out cold. A dining companion had her entree screwed up. And my girlfriend had a very disappointing entree. That being said, the Fish n Chips (ordered extra crispy) was the best I have had in a long...long time. I also had a pretty expertly mixed Manhattan and my date had a sidecar. Excellent. So, I would say that the "low-brow" food here is probably quite excellent and the bartender knew what he was doing. Save the fancier stuff for elsewhere. read more

This place was a pure disappointment. The prickly pear martini was not up to par, the shrimp was over priced, and our waitress was a blithering idiot. We only saw her four times during our dinner, she never came by to check on our meal, and she messed up our bill. Clearly she was more attentive to the larger party that was sitting in the other dining room in hopes she would receive a large tip. Thus, she ignored the smaller parties. She was also pretty ballsy to add in a tip and claiming that it was a "restaurants.com requirement." I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone and I would never return. read more

While we chose Firefly over other restaurants, we should have gone elsewhere. We were originally a table of 8 which turned into 7 and seated at a table for 6. While most of the restaurant was open we could have been placed elsewhere. It was busy outside, and slightly busy inside. Our waitress was not attentive, she took a while to greet us, she didn't seem to be attentive to our table of 7 and it looked like she had no other tables. Well, we were unsure seeing she was out of sight most of the night. We were told there were no specials (odd) and picked from the limited menu. We may have waited over half hour to 45 minutes for our food to come and we had to go to bar to ask? Waitress did not attend to us like she should of, if food was taking that long. No bread offered while we waited, but we did ask for bread. Once our food came our of 7 meals, two loved them. The burger was nothing special, small and on a plain type of bun, the scallops were only seared (burnt) on one side, the lobster salad was just average and both the steaks, (very pricey) were not very tender. The chicken thighs and the vegetable lasagna were very good. I had to wait for another 15 minutes for another drink. While I agree the atmosphere was nice I would not visit this restaurant again any time soon. Service , price and food needs some improvements. read more

Been there several times. Used to kinda like it and went there probably about once a week, but never truly like the restaurant, especially when they changed their prices and menu. The bill has never been less than $80, even on burger nights, which they also raised from $5 to $7.50 or so; what a burger would cost at any other place nearby. Used to like only one dish there, the lamb Aujus, but they took that off the menu too. The food is worse than it was before and the prices are ridiculously high prices the crappy dishes they offer. The amount you spend for food and drinks is not worth it. You pay double for one drink at the firefly than you would at any other local place, not to mention a friend ordered the so called "kettle chips" or whatever the f they want to call there stale bagged potato chips, next to their bootleg $27 "lobster rolls" and was very disappointed. They fucking suck and I stopped going there months ago, aka have been boycotting the place ever since they renovated and started having shittier menus and food. THE FIREFLY SUCKS BALLS!! If you ever contemplate going to the firefly in Lenox MA, DON'T!!!!!!!! read more

We should have listened to all of the other reviews about the poor service. I have never written a review but feel I must... The service is the worst. The food is decent but not great at all for the money. The service... Rude, rarely checks in... We were doing them a favor coming to their restaurant. Someone in our party accidentally knocked their drink off the table. It took so long for someone to come clean that we actually used our dinner napkins and started to take care of the spill. The bartender cleaned the floor. Left the broken stem glass on the table and left. When the waitress finally checked back in we asked for another drink. They charged us for a spilt drink. When we paid the bill I mentioned to the waitress that when a drink is spilt you usually would not be charged for a new drink. Her comment "well you spilt it ". Enough said. Rude and very poor customer service. And that is only one example from our evening at The Firefly. Don't go. Way too many other restaurants in the area for you to pick from. Don't make our mistake. read more

I never write bad reviews when service tries their best to deliver, however this newly renovated and "updated menu" version of Firefly should be burned in the fire. We used to love this place, but now I would give it ZERO stars if I could. The service is extremely slow, the menu is all about drinking and VERY limited food. The food comes out at different times, so go alone or leave dissappointed. I went with 4 other people, the soup was cold, even after they reheated it, the burger was inedible and when asked for condiments, they took 10 minutes to return to see how the food was, but forgot that we asked for condiments so the food got cold. 3 people got sick off the nachos, the drinks were sour, the salad was all lemon for a dressing. When we spoke to the manager, she was "happy to take the burger off, because it wasn't touched", but all the other issues, on a bill of over $130 we're not addressed, appologized for and was even responded to with attitude. I will never go back. Glad there are so many other places that have good food and good people running them here in the Berkshires. read more

We went here on a Sunday night and it was a terrible experience. We sat down at 6:45pm and didn't receive our appetizers until 7:35pm. (Note: we basically only ordered salads and soup so I'm not sure what took so long to prepare). We go out to eat a lot and this was the slowest service we have ever received. It took over 2 hours to get all of our food which ended up being cold, flavorless, and bland. We had to ask for bread several times before our waitress brought it. She said it was "in the oven" which is why it was taking so long but when it got to our table, the bread was cold. Not to mention dry and stale. Our waters were consistently empty as they never came around to fill them. The edamame potsticker appetizer was pretty good but the soy sauce was overly salty. The guacamole was average but very lime-y. I would order the potstickers again but not the guacamole. We got the watermelon ricotta salad which was too minty, the watermelon was mushy and had no flavor, and the ricotta was also pretty bad. We all had the spinach vegetable soup which was good if you like cilantro. For our main meal we got the summer chopped salad, the caesar salad, a side of french fries, mashed potatoes, vegetable maki, the quinoa side, and a side of rice and beans. The mashed potatoes had no salt, the beans and rice tasted like soap, and the chopped salads were made with iceberg lettuce and very few toppings. We didn't eat anything besides the fries and vegetable maki. After all of that, we spent $200 on below average food and the slowest service imaginable. There are several good restaurants in Lenox--this is not one of them. read more

The newly revamped, private dining room at the newly remodeled Firefly Gastropub is the perfect place for an intimate wedding rehearsal dinner in Lenox. During high season in the Berkshires, we had 24 guests for a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres and a seated three course meal. Laura was a breeze to deal with and made us feel like we were restaurant regulars and long-time friends. She handled everything for us to easily host the perfect pre-wedding gathering, including providing flower arrangements and printing customized menus with a variety of entree selections. Her suggestions were right on, the food, drink, and presentation were excellent, the management and staff were very attentive and the ambience both warm and hip. We were extremely happy with the outcome and will always consider this establishment to be our home away from home in the Berkshires. Thanks, Laura. We will always have wonderful memories of this beautiful event. read more

Service was poor - although waitress was pleasant and smiled she never asked us how our meal was even though she could see I wasn't eating mine- I ordered Ceasar salad- and I got a plate of burnt salad stalks w very little dressing- I know they were trying to follow the upscale restaurant trend of serving the salad this way but I don't want to have to cut my own salad and the chef was trying to I guess crisp the ends but he burnt them instead and that's all you tasted was burnt lettuce - when my husband asked her to take it off the bill she again didn't ask what was wrong or even try to offer something else. My son ordered burger med just a little pink well it came medium rare and it came with sweet potato fries - the menu only indicated fries- how many kids like sweet potato fries - not mine another waste and yes they were in the burnt side too. We were the only ones in the place when we ordered and it took way to long to get meal I guess that's because the chef was burning everything. After asking waitress for the bill and telling her to take off salad the owner popped his head around the corner and took a look at us- didn't bother to even come over and ask how food was. Don't waste your money. read more

My wife and I had a rare night without the kids so were looking forward to reconnecting while enjoying a good meal. Unfortunately, the Firefly did not deliver the experience we were hoping for. The service was flat out HORRIBLE! We were seated and after about 15 minutes we finally see a waitress. Keep in mind the place was dead with only 3 tables of customers. We ordered drinks and an appetizer; we get the appetizer 15 minutes later but no drinks! The waitress, who we are pretty sure was drunk, shows up in another 10 minutes and says,"I guess you want to order now". You think! Still no drinks! The food was nothing special and way overpriced. The owner may want to train her staff because they were clueless and really didn't seem to care. I would say avoid this place at all costs. To be fair, we were there in May so maybe it gets better when they hire competent summer help. But even if the food was superior, which it's not, the experience was overshadowed by horrible, horrible service. AVOID! read more

Since some reviews have been downright negative, we were more than delighted when our first visit to Firefly for dinner over this past quiet snowy weekend far exceeded all expectations. We have no quibbles at all with the ambiance (sophisticated but warm), the service (very friendly and competent, not intrusive) and the food (absolutely wonderful!). The items we ordered included a burger with marvelous hand-cut fries, and a truly heavenly, melt in the mouth coffee stout braised bison short ribs with puree of root vegetables and kale. Indeed, we left little work for the kitchen crew, every last morsel served was eaten with enjoyment. The one Firefly signature cocktail that we ordered was also terrific (Moscow Mule). In retrospect, we regretted having eaten a large lunch earlier same day, which had limited our capacity for sampling more of the Firefly fare. Will be sure next time we visit to arrive with "more room". I have not given that last 5th star, as I feel that a restaurant in this bracket and with these aspirations should provide some small "complimentary" offering while guests are waiting for their food to be prepared eg warm bread/olives, and I do not recall any such. Overall, Firefly gave us a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience, the pricing was appropriate. read more
