everything is so well executed. The atmosphere, the service of food......... I had the fettuccine, and I could taste every single thing that was in it. My taste buds thought they were at a carnival. They don't serve vodka because they want or tasteless in the restaurant. So I had a Manhattan instead of martini I think everybody in there believes in what they're doing I really don't understand how I could reserve a table Saturday morning or Saturday evening and get one. It is so much better than restaurants that are so much harder to get a reservation

My wife and I ate here last night. We got in without a reservation. This is the small tavern within…read morethe Red Lion Inn, it's very small, tables are tight and the room holds about 16 people. Godfrey was our waiter, very attentive and pleasant. He was assisted by servers who brought food from the kitchen. We had identical meals. The black lentil soup (soup of the day) was very good. We shared a wedge salad lettuce with halved cherry tomatoes, bacon bits and chopped fried onions and it was super. I'm not big on dressing as a whole, but it was quite flavorful. We each had the smash burger. It's two thin patties made from sirloin and ribeye coated with cheddar cheese placed on chopped lettuce and tomato, resting on a fresh roll. It was hot and so juicy and delicious. The only drawback for the entire meal was that the fries were over cooked. For dessert my wife had the apple pie with ice cream, I had the brown sugar cake with coffee ice cream. Both simple, yet scrumptious. Overall a delicious meal, it seemed expensive, but we had wine. FYI, we saw others being served the fish and chips (Cod) and it looked great.

"NO, we did not.". luckily, the lady being seated remembered we were here before us and backed me up. I did not feel welcomed in the least. considering this is supposed to be "quintessential new england" and that this would be like sitting in a Norman Rockwell painting, I am extremely disappointed. if this was my first trip to Nee England, I would go home. luckily, I have been other cities and know there are good, friendly people around.

Lenox has some really cool spots and Ombra is one of them. Recommended by a local, we stopped here on Valentine's Day after our dinner for a nice glass of wine. The place was crowded but luckily a few people were leaving so we scored some seats at the bar. I ordered a glass of Nebbiolo from Italy which was good. My husband had a beer. The place is so cute and very romantic with dim lights, a great wine selection and their food looked so good. Unfortunately, we were so full that we did not end up ordering anything. Although, the french fries were calling my name. Ombra is a place that I could see us coming to almost every week and not getting tired of it. We met a local who is very nice and told us how Ombra is very popular. I think we will have to come back in the spring/summer to get those french fries :) If you are ever in Lenox definitely make your way to Ombra for a nice glass of wine or try a cocktail. This is the perfect date night spot for sure whether you start or end your evening here, you will be happy! Cheers~

We've been here a couple of times now, and I always look forward to returning whenever I'm visiting the Berkshires. I ordered the chicken, while my significant other ordered the duck, and both were outstanding. Everything was truly done to the nines. I couldn't have asked for a better meal, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The portions were also generous, which I really appreciate given the price point. You're getting a substantial meal that feels well worth it. The service was just as well done. We felt well taken care of throughout the evening, and our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. My only complaint is that I wish Alta would open another location and move to Boston. I would absolutely make this a regular spot!

What made the experience even more special was the hospitality. After the Tanglewood concert on a Sunday night, the staff recognized that many concertgoers were looking for a place to eat and graciously stayed open later to accommodate everyone. That level of customer service is rare and speaks volumes about how much they care about their guests. Outstanding food, exceptional hospitality, and an experience I'll be talking about for a long time. I can't wait to come back.

After *two* visits to Acqua al 2 during our recent Berkshires foray, I can say with confidence that…read morethis restaurant is not to be missed! Five stars, hands down. ***** The exterior is a pop of color in the small town of West Stockbridge and it is conveniently located near the I-90, Tanglewood, and all things Berkshires. Check out the original artwork on the walls and relax as you are transported to another place. What makes this restaurant so special is the authenticity of the food. All the recipes are from the original Florence location, perfected over many years by the owners. If you are a meat-eater then you'll be delighted by any of the filets. I enjoyed both the blueberry filet and the green peppercorn filet (strategically ordering both with a friend and then switching plates once halfway through!). The port wine sauce chicken is also quite tasty. The restaurant offers several "samplers" (salad, steak, pasta, dessert) which makes it easy to try lots of different flavor combinations, textures, and fresh ingredients. We did get the pasta sampler, and my favorites were the gnocchi (that day it was served with red pepper sauce - but on my next visit I tried the Gorgonzola sauce, yum) and the bow tie pasta with pumpkin and tiny but delicious morsels of almond crunch. I love greek salad and Acqua Al 2 did not disappoint. Fresh, crisp and refreshing cucumbers & tomatoes with a "to-die-for" feta cheese. I am also a huge fan of tiramisu so while others in our group opted for the dessert sampler, I went all-in on my top choice... iykyk. A good tiramisu can make or break a meal. This one was A+ Our server, Juan, was gracious and attentive. Overall a wonderful experience. Also, I don't drink alcohol, but they do have a full bar and an extensive wine list. Content with my Shirley Temple, I felt no judgement from staff!

We…read morediscovered Acqua Al 2 and read that the unique name is because THE restaurant is a distant "expansion" from Florence Italy. Well, that was enough to raise our expectations and we headed to this wonderful restaurant with authentic Italian food. The selections were excellent and we both found meals that we were interested in, and then the service and food preparation exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent and we were there early in the evening and were able to engage with owner, Valentino. We learned all about the history and the drive to create this location in West Stockbridge, a short 10 minute drive from the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge. I left my sunglasses on the window frame, and Valentino drove them to the Red Lion, unbeknownst to me, but when I realized the glasses were missing, I discovered that they were returned to the Hotel. Fantastic experience, delicious food, and the pricing was lower than expected, while the quality was higher than expected. As the English say, "good value for money"! We would love to return to the Berkshires and enjoy another meal.

And Triskele's French cooking, is one of the reasons why. The stars are all aligning for Triskele's French Chef and owner Gilbert, offering a comfortable, homey setting with incredible tasting food for this area. There are 3 dining rooms- 2 of those facing Main St. the other closer to the parking lot entrance with a softly-lit bar area. You can book through Resy which I noticed after I reserved by phone- but either way, you'll receive text reservation details and reminder. You'd be hard pushed to find a bad review here. Food is as good as you can expect from Triskele- think good tasting unfussy and hearty plates with a good dose of French music in the background. Our Sidecar and Cosmo cocktails were great and packed a TKO. The Beurre Blanc sauce in my Salmon dish was a bit loose- but extremely tasty. Hubs enjoyed his medium-rare rack of lamb and raved about the seasoned crust- even after we finished. He also felt the lamb was so tasty- that he didn't have the need to use the chutney/relish(?) it came with. Service was great! Margarite is a perfect blend of attentive and personal and Gilbert greeted us with the warmest smeyes as we headed out. Nice standout.

We have eaten here many times before but unfortunately we will not be back. The food ranged from…read moremediocre to quite good but was too inconsistent. We ordered the bread and butter off the menu (only way to get bread) and the butter was individually wrapped in packets labeled Sysco. It was too salty and not good at all. We adore the butter in France and expected better from a boutique French restaurant. We also experienced the owner as being quite argumentative and we experienced his manner as condescending when we made what we thought were two fairly normal requests. Two requests that this restaurant had honored in the past under previous ownership (but we were unaware of the change of ownership). Our experience was that the new owner belittled our requests. One, to cook the oysters (my mother can't medically eat raw oysters but adores them if they can be cooked. And this was a special birthday dinner for her.) And a request for organic wine which we had had at this restaurant before. (Non-organic wine gives her a headache.) We also found the owner quite argumentative and experienced his manner as condescending when we made what we thought were two fairly normal requests. **In response to the restaurant's comments below, the issue was not that he said no; it was the way in which we were spoken to. (My mother actually left the restaurant for a bit to collect herself but chose to come back in for the meal. I wish we had just left.) The waitress was lovely and attentive. She was professional in all of her interactions with us and we were very grateful for her kindness. The eggs mayonnaise was just ok (could have made better ourselves). The ratatouille was quite disappointing, no depth or real flavor- definitely would have been tastier if we had made it ourselves. The branzino was the only highlight of the meal yet they had left a cluster of the green bean stems on the plate... ? On purpose? The night before we had an excellent dinner at Alta in Lenox Center. Don't hesitate to go there! Cafe Triskele used to be consistent and excellent. Unfortunately, our experience this time was very different. ** My comments below were added after the restaurant's response: I have made a few minor edits above to clarify my original review. I would also like to note that the person who posted the restaurant's response below was not present during the interactions described above. And at no point during the evening was an apology offered or did anyone come to our table to acknowledge what had happened or ask if there was anything they could do to address the situation.
