I had the special , a brisket in a ciabatta with toppings was melt in your mouth great , as was my wife's fried chicken , macaroni salad and corn bread . Ruth, our waitress , was very attentive to every need , friendly and cheerful despite being super busy, otherwise. The coup da grace was the desert a ice cream espresso and pumpkin biscotti.... It topped off a delectable meal and night. Kudos to the chef and staff for making our anniversary celebration extra special

We arrived for our reservation and were offered a very small two-top. Because we were dining with our dog, we politely asked if it would be possible to wait for a larger table where she would not be in the way of other guests or staff. We were not demanding a different table -- we were told it would take approximately 30 minutes for another table in a different section to become available, and we happily said we were willing to wait. We sat quietly outside with our dog while waiting. The owner then approached us and told us that waiting for another table would interfere with future seating. We were surprised by this, as we had simply accepted the wait time that was provided to us and had not caused any disruption. The interaction escalated when the owner used profanity toward my husband and threw the water bowl that had been provided for our dog in our direction. We were shocked by the hostility and left without eating. We completely understand that restaurants have to manage reservations and seating, and we would have accepted being told that our request could not be accommodated. What was unacceptable was the way we were spoken to and treated by the owner. We came here excited to spend our money at this restaurant as part of our trip, but we are grateful that Great Barrington has many other excellent establishments where we were welcomed and happy to spend our money instead. Unfortunately, this experience was the opposite of the hospitality we expected.

We did get there slightly before 5pm which allowed us a quieter atmosphere for the first part of our meal. We ordered the mushroom and fennel sausage flat bread for an appetizer. It was amazingly flavorful and had super fresh mozzarella. We also both had a cup of the cold pea soup. It was thick and creamy and had a beautiful presentation. For our main meal, my husband ordered the salmon. He said that everything was cooked perfectly and it was quite flavorful. I had the public burger and truffle fries. The burger was juicy and huge! The fries were nicely seasoned. The service was great, as well. Our waitress was attentive and the manager came by and spoke with us, as well. Don't miss this place if you're looking for a delicious meal!

This spot is popular and was relatively full even for an early dinner at around 5. My fiancé and I had the Brie burgers. Loved the concept but note that it seems more of a Brie spread than actual slices of Brie. Still tasty though. I didn't love that the bun was a tad cold. The Parmesan truffle fries are on point! So amazing! Portions for the burger and side of fries are generous. The spanakopita app was tasty but a bit salty. Service was okay. I'd totally return here if in the area again but, IMO, it didn't quite live up to the hype of earlier reviews. The food's definitely solid but not at the level I'd make a special trip here. There are two gender neutral restrooms, which were well appointed but the floor was a bit slippery due to folks tracking in snow in the winter. They may want to consider extending some mats to the restrooms. I was worried about my Mom, who is a senior with some mobility issues, slipping on the floors near the bathrooms.

(as the kids say) It was crowded despite being early evening. The only available seats were at the bar area near the windows, which was fine because we were determined to experience the "new" place. We ordered the tuna tartare and lobstah rolls. The accompanying chips are homemade (slightly salty, but my taste buds are really close together). The host was attentive and gave us the royal treatment. We put this gem back on rotation and we are definitely returning!!!

The textured walls are gorgeous and give the space a style it was definitely missing before. As usual, the happy hour menu never disappoints. The Pomjito is a personal favorite.. refreshing, light, and not too sweet. We also got the oysters and mussels, both solid. The mussel sauce was unique compared to a typical tomato base, which we really appreciated. For my entrée, though, I was disappointed to see that the tuna salad I always order had completely changed. It used to be an arugula salad with Asian flavors and the tuna served on top. Now it It's a Niçoise salad, and the tuna is awkwardly placed on the side. Nothing about the tuna tasted like it did before. I'm usually a sucker for ahi tuna, but this was honestly one of the most disappointing ahi dishes I've ever had. It felt totally incohesive with the salad next to it. I really wish they didn't change the menu so frequently. Once I finally find an entrée I genuinely look forward to, it disappears. That said, we'll still be back for the great happy hour food and solid drinks. Now it's just a matter of finding a menu item I like... and hoping they keep it.

Good variety on the wine list, including a white from Loire Valley that I really enjoyed. When the hunk of sourdough with dipping oil and a beautifully roasted bulb of garlic arrived, I understood why the bartender (Amber?) said it often stole the show... but our plates were delicious down to the last bite. We had short rib w/polenta, smashed baby potatoes, seared scallops, and burrata-peach salad... all so flavorful, so expertly prepared. All served in a charming antique-y warm wood upscale bistro atmosphere. I can't wait to go back!

This shotgun style space has a very large bar and table seating for about 40 people. The menu is short but quite varied, and includes a very nice mix of tapas style dishes and includes charcuterie style boards, salads and soups. I started with a bowl of their homemade Sweet Corn Chowder that came with a large serving of fresh baked bread and a grilled garlic bulb - very classy, nice and unusual. For my main dish I had the Steak Flatbread. There was a decent amount of steak with a very nice mix and portions of cheese and veggies. The crust was thin, and it was both crisp and chewy, a feat rarely achieved in a pizza or flatbread crust. They have a limited but well diversified choice of draught beers. The service at the bar was attentive, and I would consider the prices to be below market value. I'll certainly be back!
