Tea Pot Serving
Mel B.

After a long day of bargain hunting at Waterloo Outlets, Finger Lakes Tea Company was a welcome discovery for a non-food court, nearby snack. I liken myself to any great discoverer when it comes to snacks after shopping: I didn't find the place first, I found it by accident, I had initial misconceptions about what Finger Lakes Tea Company was, and I have since proclaimed it my very own "after-shopping" secret that I've decided to share with you. Finger Lakes Tea Company is just across the street from the Waterloo Outlets. The outside is cheerful, with colorful letters proclaiming that it is in fact open. Any mention of tea will draw me inside. The inside has two distinct and bright rooms. You enter into the Tea Tasting room with a shop of delightful tea sets and a menu to "try before you buy" some loose tea leaves and buds. The second room is for ordering Dim Sum. Once you choose a table, you circle your choices on a long list of inexpensive soups, dumplings, egg rolls, and barbecue meats. The dining room looks out to land that I assume, after learning this on the menu, will be the future of FLTC's goal of growing tea onsite in 2016. We chose vegetable rolls ($1.99 each), steamed shrimp and pork dumplings ($4.99 for 6), and wild mushroom and vegetable buns ($4.99 for four). Pickled vegetables were brought to the table, along with dipping sauce, to accompany the selections. The buns smelled amazing, and the dumplings were gone in a minute. They had steamed shrimp, flavorful pork, and green leafys that tied everything together in harmonious flavor. Eating everything with the pickled vegetables, I felt as happy as the smiling Buddha outside. Minus his belly because everything was steamed. Steamed = healthy. I fancy myself a tea connoisseur, but reading the list of teas while waiting for the dim sum, I was schooled hard. We chose the tea combination of Red Tea (I was told us Westerners call this black tea), Rose, Jasmine, and honey. The decision was made because I like to see little buds steeping, and literally smell the roses and jasmine. The menu told me that the tea also helps with various ailments and aids in concentration. Good things all around. The magic tea came in a beautiful black and pink-flowered tea pot that was enough to get four or so cups out of. You can also order cold bottled water to drink with the food. The tea cost around $3, and it was delicious. Nearby, I heard people proclaiming to the staff that the food was delicious. I ate everything incredibly fast, loving all of it, especially the dumplings. The staff themselves were so friendly, and the perfect combo of being hands-on with helping you make your decisions, but also good at giving you space to eat. The place has only been open since March 2014, and I can see it going up in offerings. Here's to hoping that tea garden comes to fruition. This place is perfect for a quick stop to relax your hurting shopping feet, eat good food and enjoy so much tea.

Mushroom buns and crystal shrimp dumps

Found this place while going for a lazy drive around Seneca and Waterloo. When my sister and I went in we were the only ones so it was kinda weird but its such a cute place, and fairly large space too. We checked out the tea but lets get real, we peeped the menu online and wanted some lunch eats! We sat down and ordered a red tea with toasted jasmine and a magnolia tea. Food wise we had a vegetable eggroll, crab Rangoon, mushroom and vegetable buns and crystal shrimp dumplings. Everything was super tasty and while yeah it may not be handmade right there, who cares! It was cheap and delicious so I am not complaining. It was as expected and came out fast too. The teas WOW! The magnolia was amazing and none needed sugar or anything added. So perfect and the flavors were great. I enjoyed how the teas not only stated what they were composed of, but also when to drink them and what they can aid in. The magnolia said it was good for sinus congestion so holla! I'm about that anti-allergy, all naturaaaaaaleeeee. The woman working was so sweet and even showed us the proper way to steep and 'clean' the tea for best results and taste. Overall, I cannot wait to come back on my next trip up and already started to recommend it to friends and family too! If you are into tea houses, def make a point to spend some time here! PS.. theres a winery about 500 yards away and you can get a wine slushie for dessert! Double score

Large location across the street from the Waterloo outlets back aways from the road a little. Very clean and open floor plan - filled with tons of type of teas. I went in hoping to get some bubble tea - but they dont make it. I ended up getting a Strawberry iced fruit tea which I watched them steep fresh with red tea. The tea appeared to have fresh berries and a wonderful refreshing crisp clean tea flavor. Staff appears very knowledgable and willing to answer any questions. She recommended the red tea as she noted that it was the best iced. They have tea tastings $2 for 3 types. I can't speak to the food as I only had tea. I would love to come back for further tea tastings. I did find the iced tea quite pricey at $4 for 16oz but to purchase loose teas and tastings appeared much more reasonable. Give them a shot after an afternoon of Outlet mall shopping, the iced tea was perfect some of the best I've had.

Wonton soup that is to die for!

Wow place is amazing! The variety of tea offered here can be a bit overwhelming at first but with some guidance from the extremely helpful staff you will feel as confident as Uncle Iroh (Avatar fans will get it) when making tea selections before you know it. While the tea is amazing the food is just as impressive. The yonton and hot & sour soups offered here are the best I have ever had. We tried a variety of dumplings which were all perfect. Everything started fresh and hand made (can't confirm the hand made part). This place is definitely one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in the finger lakes region.

Blue and White tea set. One of the wonderful staff members educated us on the meaning of all the symbols.

I've been by the FLX Company many times but never stopped until today and I'm so glad I did. The tea room itself is beautiful, very clean and inviting. We were greeted very warmly and the staff was very helpful guiding us thru our first visit. We chose a sampler of 20 different teas for $13, excellent value and we purchased a refillable tin that we can bring next time. I also purchased a beautiful blue and white tea set which I will treasure. FLX Tea Company is certainly worth the stop, you won't be disappointed!

A nice place to stop by for tea tasting and/or lunch/dinner on my way to and from Massachusetts and Toronto. Yelp and FLTC (Finger Lakes Tea Company) brochure shows they close at 7pm everyday but FLTC web site show they close at 8pm (Monday - Saturday). We were on our way back from Toronto to Massachusetts. It was around 7:10pm and found they were still open. My advise is if you think you will arrive between 7 - 8pm, call them to ensure they are open during that time frame. Their dim sum is not superior but not bad either in NY up-state suburban area. I think their business is balanced with tea, tea sets, and Chinese food (mainly dim sum). They have tea tasting ($2 each set) which comes with 3 cups of your choice of tea from 40+ tea combinations from the menu (as you can read from one of the previous reviewer's photo). We ordered vegetable roll, pork roll, mini pork bun, pork steak with pickled sauce lo mein and 2 sets of tea tasting. The showroom is decorated nicely and neat with big area showing different types of tea, teapot sets and other Chinese decorating stuff. We end up bought home with a bag of tea, a teapot set, a keychain with horse figurine and a vehicle charm with Buddha figurine. Certainly, we will come back for more tea tasting and/or dim sum (if we arrive around meal time) whenever I will pass around the area.

Pick 20 bags for $17 and a fancy tin! Bring back the tin to refill your 20 bags and it's only $11!

We discovered this place last year when my son started at Binghamton University, and now that he lives at UClub, it's incredibly convenient since the restaurant is right there. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a traditional Chinese theme and feels spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of seating. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. We consistently order the spicy beef noodle soup, the regular beef noodle soup, and the spicy fish fillets with tofu. The broth is rich, deep, and full of flavor, and the beef is perfectly tender. The spicy fish fillets with tofu is my go‑to dish. Just think of a spicy fish version of mapo tofu, and you won't be disappointed. If you're visiting the Binghamton area, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

After driving for 3 hours, ended up here on a recommendation of a friend. The menu was…read moreoverwhelming, but our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and was able to steer us in the direction we wanted to go. It's one of the most authentic-tasting Szechuan meals I have ever had. My only negative is I got fried rice for $2, and it was very lackluster. The dishes we had were unlike anything we've had, and so memorable! Intense flavor with lots of depth and spice, and all the vegetables and tofu in the dry pot entree were cooked so well. I wouldn't get this as take out- the dry pot presentation was half the fun! Our other dish was chicken soupy style, which had an incredible spicy chili oil sauce that went well with plain rice. It was nicely decorated with the decor continuing into the restrooms. For those interested, it had a very family-friendly restroom with baby changing station. I learned that they have a location in Syracuse as well. Definitely give it a try and go for something special!
