Finally found my way to Spin & Savor after hearing them announce they'll be offering an all-you-can-eat option months ago. I was greeted by friendly staff and immediately shown to a table. Looking around, I found this restaurant to be smaller than what I had in mind, but nevertheless it was decorated nicely, and seemed clean. We were met by Jessie who gave us the run down how everything worked. Everything on the conveyor belt is part of the AYCE, and we're also able to place orders on the tablet which will be delivered either by server or by a secondary conveyor belt which is above the revolving one. The thing I really loved is the fact the sushi rolls on the conveyor belt were 3 - 4 pieces. A great way to try the roll if you're nervous about placing one in that would consist of 6-8 pieces. We were satisfied with the options for sushi rolls that made its way around. A few appetizers we also enjoyed were the cocktail shrimp and pickled daikon and carrots. Looking through the menu on the tablet, we placed in a handful of different dim sum and sushi. Some highlights for us were the shumai, shrimp dumplings, and tripe. Some appetizers from the tablet we enjoyed were the fried scallops and egg rolls. For sushi, we really enjoyed the white tuna tataki. The nigiri and sashimi were fair and pretty standard. Now onto why this is a 4-star vs a 5-star. I visited twice now, and it seems certain items are always sold out. Reading other reviews, it seems to be the norm. It makes me believe it's possible perhaps these items are always sold out or rarely offered at the restaurant. This is a disappointment considering we're paying full price for several items to not be offered. Egg tarts, roast pork pastries, even some sushi options were sold out such as salmon roe and surf clam. Overall, this is a nice restaurant, and we were treated with great hospitality from Jessie and we enjoyed the majority of the items offered here. We're hoping our next visit, there won't be so many sold out items. read more

The food off the conveyer belt was not cold and didn't taste fresh, and the sushi was generally not great quality or tasty. Warning, the parking lot is very small! But there was plenty of seating inside. We loved the cat robot that delivered out food. The rotating sushi was also a plus as we were able to get rolls with Less pieces of sushi so we could still enjoy dim sum. The pork buns are a must try, my favorite thing we had. The chicken soup dumplings were a close runner up. My least favorite was the scallion pancake as it was burnt but still glad I tried it. Ordering was a bit confusing especially if there are two parties (separate checks) at one table. The conveyor belt was fun but not everything on it was proper temp. If it had been there for awhile. I thought it was cool with the little thing on top that brought your food but with 2 parties ordering the same thing it was hard to know who's was who's and the waitress didn't know one dish from another which wasn't helpful. Very disappointed Although they call it dim sum computer style, they tell you that you can order Chinese food as well as sushi from their other restaurants that they own, which is all connected probably the worst service, even though the prices were far from cheap. eight ribs cost me $32. I have to be honest though, those ribs that cost me four dollars per rib was generous amount. But let's face it four dollars for one rib or $32 for eight is a lot of money. ordered a beer, it was warm, my guest had to ask for a bottle and ice cubes for the beer after about 45 minutes to an hour, we ask the waitress. When will the ribs be coming, she said it should be coming soon. It took another 15 minutes. Later on, when we had been there well over an hour we have anything else that we ordered that will be coming, the waitress said "you would know better than I". 20 minutes after that we finally asked the waitress to cancel anything else that we've been waiting forever for. When we left, we probably had been there almost 2 hours. we definitely will not be coming back there again by the way, it's part of Sakura, which I used to be a a loyal customer coming there at least weekly. If you're wondering how it works, each table has a card with instructions. I've uploaded a picture too. Order using the screen at your table and the food will be sent to you on the top section of the conveyor belt. Is the dish ours or the table on the other side? The green light facing your table will let you know it's for you. The button to send it back will also be lit. Whoever sits next to the conveyor has the lucky role of server and grabs the dishes. We got lost in conversation and had to pay attention when the dishes came because there's no sound/ding. The food came out one at a time and we didn't wait long. The continuous conveyor belt had mostly sushi and bun selections that you can grab. The instruction card tells you the price of the different colored plates. Server was great and kept our drinks refilled and table clear. We came mostly for the dimsum and tried one nigiri salmon just to try the sushi. I prefer the dimsum. We had a variety of dishes and most were good. I didn't care for the soup dumplings flavor and lack of soup; the short ribs were a bit chewy; I didn't care for the nigiri salmon. We ended our lunch with an egg custard tart and the golden black buns, both were nice semi-sweet desserts to end the meal. I think they will do well with dimsum as there's not as many dimsum restaurants in town compared to sushi. Prices range from $3-$7 per plate, more for larger kitchen dishes. Great experience at Spin And Savor. We had some confusion finding the entrance. We went through the front which actually takes you to a different restaurant. The staff gave us instructions to keep walking to a specific point which took us to the spin and savor dining room. The dining room was large and spacious. The conveyor built was bigger than I expected. We ordered using the tablet. The owner came over to us multiple times throughout our visit to talk about the food we ordered. Very personable! Our food was brought out to us by a robot which played music. We enjoyed the sushi. The scallion beef wrap was incredible. One item we didn't like was a pan fried pork and shrimp dumpling. Have been wanting to check this place out and glad to have finally checked it out with my family. It was a holiday so there was a good sized crowd. The concept is neat with a conveyor belt Dimsum and sushi. I really appreciated the selection. I am not sure if it was a holiday and they had their full selection on the conveyor belt but I found it was better to order the items off the menu via the tablet provided at the table. Spin and savor popped up a ton online for me, so we went on a Saturday at lunch (which I feel like would be a busy time) and it was pretty empty. The food looks good online, and I was especially excited about all the unique options (primarily the dessert and rice rolls which most other places don't have). However, what was on the conveyor belt was primarily either fried or eel based. What was fried was bland and very crunchy without a lot of meat. We ordered a few rolls off the iPad and were pretty happy with those, but again, annoying that I had to go in and specifically order a bunch of that since what is on the conveyor belt is very repetitive and lower quality. Also, all of the desserts and the rice rolls were sold out and I've checked their website since and they still say sold out? So are they always sold out? Then why are they on the menu? The few rolls again were nice but I wouldn't pay takeout prices for just them because they're very expensive outside of the AYCE. I would expect dinner pricing will remove that limitation and also include sashimi, but I doubt I'll be back to find out. Review is specifically for dim sum. We came here to try out this revolving sushi and dim sum place and already went in knowing we were only going to try the dim sum. Place is small and not great for big groups I would say (more than 4). I would guess that you can't be good at both/everything and it is a bit gimmicky, but nevertheless, we still went for fun. Service is good and the place is nice and clean. There are fun dishes that are revolving and you can order on a touch screen device on the side of the table and the food is zoomed to you. As expected, the sushi coming around did not look very appetizing, so we refrained from trying any of that. We tried several of the dim sum dishes and I would say there is good variety and everything is very reasonably priced. Also, a bonus is that you can try one piece of certain dim sum items (such as pork buns) which is great for smaller groups. We enjoyed dishes such as the tripe, hacao (which were large and piping hot), chicken feet, pork wrapped in beancurd and several other dishes that were all very decent. Tried Spin & Savor with a friend while on a recent sushi kick - was especially excited to try it because I'm also a big fan of dim sum, and Spin & Savor offers both. They have a diverse menu, and the selections on the conveyor are refilled consistently. As with other revolving sushi-style restaurants, you can take your plate from the conveyor itself or order from the tablet at the table. If you order from the tablet, your dish will be sent to your table when it's ready from the kitchen (it can be a bit slow though). This particular restaurant also has the plates on the revolving conveyor itself in varying colors that help denote the price for that plate. Costs can add up quickly, and some dishes - such as the pineapple fried rice ($18) you can order from the tablet - can be quite large (much more than one person is likely to eat at a time). I was also a bit disappointed in the soup dumplings, as the dough of multiple broke before they got to the table, so they had little to no soup left in them to enjoy (other dumplings broke when trying to remove them from the steamer, causing both loss of the soup from inside AND quite the mess at the table). Our server was attentive throughout the meal and removed empty plates frequently; that said, I agree with another user who noted that having the person hovering over you while you decide on a tip amount to add to your check at the end of your meal is a bit off-putting (I usually default to 20% for a tip amount, but it can just be awkward no matter what when someone is standing *RIGHT THERE*). A wonderful cozy location with pretty good food. It's a little confusing because the entrance to the restaurant is around to the side of the building. The inside is relatively small but tables are spaced out so it doesn't feel cramped. The conveyor belt is super cool. I was exceptionally excited to try Spin and Savor for both its new culinary and cultural experiences. The concept of eating delicious food being served by robots, revolving cart, or by human seems like it could be both dinner and a show. While I wasn't let down, I do think the food left something to be desired. It's not bad, but it's not the best dim sum or sushi I've ever had. The sushi lacked a certain seaweed snap I've come to expect and a lot of the pork dim sum dishes contain the same pork. This lead to a lack of variety other than the choice of carb associated with each dish. As other commenters have pointed out, it is hard to do everything well. I can definitely agree with that. All-in-all Spin and Savor is somewhere you go for both the experience and the food. With that context in mind it absolutely is a place to recommend. Further, they are a very new establishment and with time I'm hopefully they can iron out the menu and a bit. I'd absolutely recommend the soup dumplings, the fried pork pastry, and the mochi donut. While not a 5 out of 5 restaurant, I'll definitely return to Spin and Savor to see how they grown and progress and will be recommending this place to friends. Came here during the soft opening and the place was packed! Our food arrived quickly and it super fresh and piping hot! My favorites were the egg yolk buns, sesame balls and the pan fried stuffed eggplant. Great service and delicious food. The interior looks very modern as well. Staff is very friendly and attentive. We've been waiting for a good sit down dim sum place and are so happy there finally is one! I loved it so much that I brought my husband and his grandma to try it out the following weekend and they loved it too. Grandma was super excited and happy to be eating delicious, authentic dim sum. The chef has worked in NYC dim sum restaurants for 30 years so it's amazing that he's come all the way here to work in ROC! I love the rotating sushi as well. You'll see that everything is massive with very generous portion sizes that are sure to fill you up with leftovers to bring home. Prices are also very reasonable. Two restaurants share the same kitchen. There is a Japanese Sushi and Hibachi Grill in the front of the building and a Chinese Dim Sum restaurant in the back. They are physically separated. The Chinese division has remodeled into a hybrid that has replaced most of its wait staff with a conveyor system that delivers food directly to your table. Who doesn't like picking plates of food off a conveyor belt. That is the Spin part of the name. The conveyor has two levels. The bottom is a continuous stream of mostly sushi and Japanese fair. Each table has a "menu pad" from which you can choose made to order Dim Sum. They charge you by the number of plates of food you take from the belt. The food is quite flavorful, which is the Savor part of the name. The menu pad displays the different categories of Dim Sum food you can order. The Dim Sum is cooked to order and delivered to the table by a robot traveling on the top tier of the conveyor. It stops at your table and it displays a green light on your side of the transport if the food is for you. Otherwise, the green light will be on the opposite side of the conveyor for the other table. There is a button on the side of the bot, which I think you should press to send the bot back to the kitchen. I was confused by that part. The service is automated so it is very quick. The flavor is quite good. I will return. I hope they don't change the restaurant name because it would confuse people. On the other hand, Spin and Savor does not scream "Dim Sum restaurant inside". read more

We had a great experience here. Two of us came in for lunch and tried around 9 different dishes. Our two favorites were the Steak Udon and Steamed Shrimp Dumplings. Everything else was a close second including the Hanna Roll. When you're seated the staff will explain how everything works- ordering on the tablet was easy and pulling from the conveyor belt was even easier. It gave us the option to try many dishes and our bill was right around $50. The staff were very attentive at clearing our plates, and the food came out quickly and fresh. I did notice there was a worker that kept a close eye on the conveyor belt food, rotating things in and out. I thought the sashimi and rolls were very fresh, but I did surprisingly enjoy the Dim Sum more. There were loads of flavor in every dish. I hate writing reviews but wanted to take the time to recognize this place. It is a new place so it has some kinks to work out but overall I was really happy with the selections and the service . I suggest get there at 11:30 for lunch because it wasn't super busy and by the time we left at 12:30 it was packed and the kitchen was very behind. Our friends who we dined with are from nyc and they said that this dim Sun was very close to what they find in the city.
