Warning, the parking lot is very small! But there was plenty of seating inside. We loved the cat robot that delivered out food. The rotating sushi was also a plus as we were able to get rolls with Less pieces of sushi so we could still enjoy dim sum. The pork buns are a must try, my favorite thing we had. The chicken soup dumplings were a close runner up. My least favorite was the scallion pancake as it was burnt but still glad I tried it. For three of us we spent about $20 each for all our food plus dessert!

Such a cute place. It was tricky to find tucked way in the back of two other restaurants but no matter. Ordering was a bit confusing especially if there are two parties (separate checks) at one table. The conveyor belt was fun but not everything on it was proper temp. If it had been there for awhile. I thought it was cool with the little thing on top that brought your food but with 2 parties ordering the same thing it was hard to know who's was who's and the waitress didn't know one dish from another which wasn't helpful. The food arrived piping hot. It was delicious! Loved the soup dumplings and the fried pork bun. We also had the egg custard buns so good. They have a cat robot that brings your drinks. Don't skimp on the mints when you leave they are really good!

If you're wondering how it works, each table has a card with instructions. I've uploaded a picture too. Order using the screen at your table and the food will be sent to you on the top section of the conveyor belt. Is the dish ours or the table on the other side? The green light facing your table will let you know it's for you. The button to send it back will also be lit. Whoever sits next to the conveyor has the lucky role of server and grabs the dishes. We got lost in conversation and had to pay attention when the dishes came because there's no sound/ding. The food came out one at a time and we didn't wait long. The continuous conveyor belt had mostly sushi and bun selections that you can grab. The instruction card tells you the price of the different colored plates. Server was great and kept our drinks refilled and table clear. We came mostly for the dimsum and tried one nigiri salmon just to try the sushi. I prefer the dimsum. We had a variety of dishes and most were good. I didn't care for the soup dumplings flavor and lack of soup; the short ribs were a bit chewy; I didn't care for the nigiri salmon. We ended our lunch with an egg custard tart and the golden black buns, both were nice semi-sweet desserts to end the meal. I think they will do well with dimsum as there's not as many dimsum restaurants in town compared to sushi. Prices range from $3-$7 per plate, more for larger kitchen dishes. Our group of 3 had about 15 plates and an order of Chinese broccoli and it was about $45 per person with tip and some take home boxes.

Great experience at Spin And Savor. We had some confusion finding the entrance. We went through the front which actually takes you to a different restaurant. The staff gave us instructions to keep walking to a specific point which took us to the spin and savor dining room. The dining room was large and spacious. The conveyor built was bigger than I expected. We ordered using the tablet. The owner came over to us multiple times throughout our visit to talk about the food we ordered. Very personable! Our food was brought out to us by a robot which played music. We enjoyed the sushi. The scallion beef wrap was incredible. One item we didn't like was a pan fried pork and shrimp dumpling. The flavor combination was not something that worked for me. Overall we enjoyed our food and would like to visit again.

Have been wanting to check this place out and glad to have finally checked it out with my family. It was a holiday so there was a good sized crowd. The concept is neat with a conveyor belt Dimsum and sushi. I really appreciated the selection. I am not sure if it was a holiday and they had their full selection on the conveyor belt but I found it was better to order the items off the menu via the tablet provided at the table. My favorites were the pineapple bun, beef rice noodle roll, shrimp dumplings and bean curd roll. The service was a bit slow but I liked the variety of dim sum dishes provided. My son loved the cat robot and koi pond.

The food is excellent and the atmosphere is pleasant; however, during our visit today, we were very dissatisfied with the service provided by one particular woman. When we first arrived, we had opted to pay for our meals individually. Yet, when it came time to settle the bill, she presented us with a total of nearly $114 effectively charging us a flat rate per person, plus an additional tip of $16 or $17. We have always been happy with our visits in the past, but today the service was truly poor--and to make matters worse, we were charged for it.

Good dim sum, steep price All of the dim sum I ordered was quite good, and honestly, probably the better costing thing there. The sushi was alright, but depending on what color you grab it can be like $7 for 3 pieces of sushi which is kinda insane. Very reminiscent of 'Umai Revolving Sushi' but with dim sum so in that regard I think it's better. If you can justify the price, it's fine to try out and see if you like it.

You sit next to this whimsical conveyor belt at a table with an iPad where you order to your hearts content.

Newest obsession! Festival of colors, lights, and beautiful food. Sit in the beautifully decorated dining area where you choose from a large menu that is robotically shipped to your table. You can also choose anything that slides past you on the conveyor belt. I tried so many things, it's completely addictive. Great for adults and kids alike.

Food and good and the exspirance is pretty cool Dint get pictures of sushi as we were hungry

My wife and I visited Spin and Savor on 5 July 2025 for lunch. The dim sum was well-made and the various high-tech options from the iPad for ordering to the robot and conveyor-belt servers made it a fun experience as they blended high-tech with traditional surroundings. Great food and a fun place to visit!

While visiting on a cool night, the Dan Dan Noodles sounded really appealing to me, and they did not disappoint! The bowl was a large portion with a good amount of noodles and tender, juicy ground pork. The broth was hot and spicy, but also flavorful...the heat was not too overpowering for me. I was very happy with my meal, but also happy to taste some other items we got to share. Edamame always seems like a good way to start a meal...these were overly salted for my liking. The scallion pancake was okay...a little small with just four thin pieces. More successful were the namesake dumplings. I really liked their versions of Xaio Long Bao - both the original pork and shrimp varieties contained delicious broth and fillings. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings, beef dumplings, and pork and corn dumplings...and we would order all of them again! The orange chicken was also an enjoyable dish to share, and good way to add some variety to the plethora of dumplings. I'm sure they get a lot of young customers from RIT and UofR, and the music catered more to this audience - it was a bit loud for my preference. But, service was very good and it is a fun casual environment to enjoy some good, reasonably priced chow with friends!

Now, when I was going to RIT (back in the day), I remember this being a Might Taco... but I'm quite delighted to see it as an OG Dumpling House location too! (Though it's probably a good thing that it wasn't a dumpling house when I was in college, because those freshman 15 would have been aaaaaaaaaall because of the soup dumplings.) You can order takeout or sit in the restaurant. Our getting offered a table when we first got there was a bit discombobulated, but we were asked after a few minutes if we wanted to sit or takeout and we confirmed we wanted to eat in the restaurant. After another minute or two, we were given our table. Because of the time waiting for our table, we had already decided on what we wanted to eat and drink... so we were able to order pretty quickly. We ordered the xiao long bao, of course, as well as steamed pork bao, and then fried green beans, fried calamari, and shumai to share. The items came out quickly enough... but as we were making our way through the plates, I was a bit surprised that our server wasn't also taking away plates that we'd finished. In most dim sum-type restaurants I've visited, it's common for the server to take finished plates away throughout the service to ensure you have room on the table for anything else that might be coming out. Since the tables in this location are perhaps a bit on the smaller side, we soon found ourselves running out of enough space to really spread out the plates to share. The soup dumplings are good... though they perhaps didn't have broth that was quite as flavorful as I'd been hoping for. I'm glad we visited, as OG Dumpling House has been on my list to try for quite a while. Now that the craving is appeased though, I'll be happy to try another one of Rochester's Chinese or dim sum-style restaurant locations.

The fried rice was solid and well-seasoned, the orange chicken was crispy with a good sauce, the dumplings were nicely pan-seared, and the crab rangoon was fresh, crunchy, and hit the comfort-food spot. I've only done takeout, so I can't say much about the ambience, but it's centrally located with decent parking. Chopsticks had included a fork, napkins and the small packets of sauces without being asked. When I arrived at my hotel room and opened the weighted take-out bag, I was surprised to see a large bowl instead of the usual cardboard box for my Szechuan chicken. The accompanying rice was in a box though. The Szechuan chicken was super-hot in temperature and extra spicy as ordered. Normally, when you ask for extra spicy the restaurants are fearful to actually make it so. Maybe it was the double extra, extra that clued them in. But it normally does not work for others. The Szechuan chicken had a lot of vegetables (green/red peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, baby corn cobs) that make me feel better about eating Chinese food. The vegetables were not only abundant but fresh looking and cooked thoroughly. There was also plenty of white strips of chicken to enjoy with all those vegetables. My only negative was that for it to be that piping hot, it had to be microwaved. Not sure if it was done in a wok earlier and then reheated, but that is my assumption. I am in search of good egg rolls. I travel frequently and like to try different Chinese restaurants in different cities across the U.S. Good egg rolls are very difficult to find. They are either too greasy, insufficient filling, or just lacking flavor. These were not greasy at all. So not greasy I found myself wondering if they used a convection oven/ air fry oven. A+ for that, but C grade for the filling. The filling did not have much flavor overall and with the shell being dry, the filling needed moisture. Oh well, the search continues. They do have seating for around 50 people and it appeared clean from my brief exposure to the restaurant. The woman at the counter was friendly and spoke perfect English. The price for the food was fine, not too expensive and not cheap. I would return to Chopsticks to try out other items next time I am in Rochester.
