First off Sunny Hibachi had the nicest and friendliest staff to meet, greet and take our order. Easy location with plenty of parking. Small restaurant with a few small tables, if you wish to stay there and eat. Now let's get to the food. Prices are VERY reasonable, but with that unfortunately came the old saying "You get what you paid for..." After reading all the great reviews on Yelp my friend and I thought we'd give Sunny's a try. We ordered a tons of food, because one, we were starving when we got there and secondly, the prices were really great. Off of the appetizer menu we ordered the Fried Scallops (10) for $3.65 and the Gyoza (6, pork fried dumplings) for $3.50. The scallops were delicious! I thought they would be small given that you get 10 for just $3.65 but that wasn't the case at all, they were big, fresh, lightly breaded and tender. The Gyoza's were good but not the best we've ever had, and my friend was a little disappointed they didn't have any hot oil sauce to dip them in. For our lunches we both ordered off the Hibachi menu and shared a little of both with each other. I ordered the Steak and Shrimp ($9.69) and my friend ordered the Chicken ($6.79). I also had the Clear soup ($0.75)- I wouldn't suggest getting the Clear soup, it was tasteless and just seemed off. When it comes to our hibachi meals- the rice was really flavorful and good. The vegetables were mainly broccoli was a few small pieces of zucchini. Both the chicken and steak were pretty dry and over cooked. Seemed like they may have been made the day before and reheated, which was pretty disappointing, but the portions were very giving. The shrimp was cold and seemed a little undercooked, which was surprising with the chicken and steak being so over cooked. Over all it was nice to try a new place with a great concept of takeout hibachi but I'm not sure I would go back again- maybe for the scallops.

Good clean hibachi. Price point is good as well. Think it could have been seasoned more which is the reason one star was taken away.

It isn't bad for takeout hibachi. Nothing like a Japanese steakhouse, but it's tasty and inexpensive.

My daughter and I went…read morethere for the first time tonight and were so pleased with the food, the people and the atmosphere! We ordered the Asian sushi tacos...the New Yorker and Seattle...and they were amazing...not only for their eye appeal but for their delicious array of ingredients! For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu and it was some of the tastiest and creamiest we've ever had. And the prices? Very reasonable for what we received. The people there are friendly and eager to have customers enjoy their experience. Bottom line, we will go back with more people very soon. We encourage you to go as well and have a great meal!

This is my experience take it or leave it…read more We have been wanting to try Sendu for a while now so I decided to get some takeout as I was passing through Webster. I ordered online from the parking lot and went in pretty soon after ordering so I wasnt expecting the food to be ready. I waited in line behind another couple who were waiting to be seated. The place was very busy and it seemed to be a bit understaffed. It took a good 2-3 minutes for the couple to be greeted and eventually seated. I waited another 2+ minutes until the bartender finally greeted me from across the bar. I told them I had a pickup and that I would wait at the bar. I sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before I interrupted the bartender to ask if I could get a drink while I waited. $36 for a double whistlepig on the rocks. Wasn't expecting that. The decor was nice. It really seemed like a nice place and it was packed. The staff was doing g then best they could, but overwhelmed and understaffed. Another 10 mintues went by while I watched TV and waited for my food. As I was finishing my drink about 35 minutes after ordering, the food was ready. We got the egg rolls, which were really deep fried spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce but one of the better things we ordered. Seared Pepper tuna was the best thing we tried. Spice with the citrus flavor of the panzu. Seattle, Osaka, and Manhattan sushi tacos. Innovative yes, flavorful not so much. The white sauce (not sure what dish it was for) saved the tacos for me. Manhattan was the best out of the three, but still nothing special. The Beef Bulgogi spring rolls were almost vegetarian, minus the one thin strip of unmarinated beef. Peanut sauce tasted like peanut butter, no other spices or flavors like a peanut sauce should. I was not impressed. We also got the "Thai Shrimp and Tropical fruit Ceviche" it was missing the pineapple and there was no where near the citrus needed to make a real Ceviche. Meaning they cut up cooked shrimp and put it in a bland fruit salad. Another one that I was not impressed by. Finally mango sticky rice. This wasn't bad and I don't mind Jassberry rice, but if you are going to call it sticky rice, you should have more than a drizzle of sweetened coconut milk in the rice and it needs more than a 1/4 mango. Total came to just under $75 not including tip or the $36 bourbon. Too many really good Sushi, Thai, and Korean resturants to waste my time trying mediocre "fusion". I wouldn't rule out giving them another try, but it won't be anytime soon :(

The Chef was making our sushi in the front of the restaurant. Which is really important to me. A chef who doesn't hide his kitchen is confident in the quality of their food, and their cleanliness. I ordered 2 sushi rolls. I cannot remember which ones. But they were extremely fresh and tasty. I will think on it while typing and see if I remember. I have "Chemo Brain" so it hard. I know you're not supposed to have Sushi while on Chemo, but I have been craving it for weeks. I decided it was time for treat. My Dr told me yes, as long as I picked a top notch place. My husband is skeptical of sushi, so I ordered him shrimp fried rice, and Hibachi beef with veggies and rice. We ordered online, ahead of time while we were out running errands. We arrived early. We were graciously welcomed by both the Chef, and a very nice woman. We took it to go, and drove home. Super easy, and I think it is a husband and wife team. A very kind woman packed our bags. I was so happy that she put the Sushi In a separate bag, than the hot food. This might sounds simple, but it is a HUGE mistake that many restaurants make. I usually always get my sushi hot or salads wilted by steam when we order to go, so it was a nice treat, that care and common sense was used. The sushi was amazing. Ooh I remember now! lol. 1 of my dishes was a tempura roll, with Tuna on top, Avocado, and spicy sauce. The 2nd dish was similar, but made with real crab meat. It had something in it that gave it nice crunch. May have been tempura chips. My husband liked the shrimp fried rice, they chopped the shrimp up small, so at first he didn't see any. But he liked the flavors. He said it made the flavor more consistent. The Beef Hibachi dish, he said wasn't worth it. Too little beef. There were a lot of squash in the mixed veggies. He is not a squash fan. I helped him eat it and I liked it. But I can see that the portions are not "Big man" sized. Which I knew taking him there. But Japanese food is not usually pig out plates. It's nice healthy food. That's is what I wanted, and since I am sick, I got what I wanted. haha! He actually really enjoyed my Sushi. He didn't finish the shrimp fried rice, so he cooked up some chicken later that evening, and mixed it with the shrimp fried rice. we ate again as a 2nd meal. It was delicious. We both decided they have excellent sushi, one of the best places I've had in Rochester. We will be coming back again. We will probably stick with Sushi and maybe try their noodles. I think next time we will eat there. Even though we had some things we didn't care for. I did want to judge the menu, until we try more of it. It was touted on Google and Yelp as a sushi restaurant, not as a full service Japanese restaurant. As a result I am giving a pass on what we didn't like. Because what we did like was AMAZING.

Maybe it's been a while since I've been to a sushi restaurant versus pick up at Wegmans, but I was…read moreso impressed by the beautiful plating. I was awed and eager to eat it! I ordered the Tuna Flower app and the OMG roll. I tasted more of the different sauces rather than the fish itself but still all good. The OMG is stuffed with various different fish. The Plaza on the outside isn't much, but the inside is clean and the folks are very nice.
