Very fresh and probably the best Sashimi i've had in rochester. I can't speak for the rolls since i haven't tried them, but i highly recommend this place for sashimi especially the buttery melt in your mouth salmon. I love that they cut the sashimi thick and aren't stingy with the amount they give you. for 6$ (per fish) you get quite a bit of sashimi. The tempura soft shell crab is also amazing and deliciously creamy and crunchy. They may take some time to prepare your order, But it seems as if they're putting in the effort to detail. however My order was late but i did get offered a drink while i waited, and to be fair it was quite busy compared to back then when they first opened. I can't complain, the food makes up for it. it is always amazing and service is friendly. read more

Their cuttle fish tempura and snow cheese fried chicken appetizers were amazing, perfectly battered and flavored! My son loved the sushi. The atmosphere and service was quick. I was drawn by the high Yelp numbers, but I don't really get it. Not bad for a college campus, but nothing to write home about. The Mermaid roll was fresh and tasty. We also had a rice bowl and a teppanyaki entree, neither of which was particularly memorable. The latter was served on a bed of noodles, which were essentially al dente spaghetti. I honestly don't know how this place is rated so high. My food was so underwhelming and disappointing. The crunch in the spicy salmon was not crunchy, the sushi rice was not seasoned well and lacked that bite that comes from vinegar, the egg sushi tasted like it was literally dunked in water because it didn't have any sweetness AND every time I chewed on it, a bunch of water would squirt out which was very unpleasant. The dumplings needed salt holy god they were so bland. And the dumpling sauce legitimately tasted like nothing. read more

Great spot! We went for sushi, and were very happy. We got humble rolls and fancy rolls, all satisfied. My personal fave was the 'colorful roll.' We're coming back to try the sizzling bowls of goodness, but only when we're starving. We saw other customers getting them and they're huge! Service was great. Tried Esuki for the first time today. We found parking around the side of the building, by the Chipotle. There is also on street parking with a toll. Inside it is very clean, looks fancy but has a relaxing atmosphere. It was order at the counter when we went. We tried the snow cheese fried chicken appetizer and some sushi. I found this spot while traveling on business. It's a new spot that's very modern. The staff is super friendly...it seems to be family owned. They are very nice and accommodating. When I paid at the kiosk the waitress hit the button so fast that she didn't allow me to leave a tip. I mentioned that to her and laughed and said don't worry about leaving a tip. That's extremely rare these days. Most wait staff want to be tipped while giving subpar service. Anyways the food was delicious and super duper fresh. Highly recommended read more

A new Collegetown restaurant featuring Japanese cuisine. The space is beautifully and simply decorated and very clean. You order at the counter and pay. This is a self serve model so their wait staff only serve. Very efficiently, too. Many traditional and specialty sushi options available. We ordered 8 different rolls for 4 people. The sushi is tender and incredibly fresh and huge! Prices per roll range from $6 to $17. Well worth every penny. read more
