Overall a really cute place, the atmosphere is very quaint and the place is very clean. The interior is decently large but the booths aren't really set up for groups larger than 4 so if you have more than that this might not be the best place for your group The location is right off the main road with an accessible parking lot so easy to get to Food is pretty good, all really fresh and keeps coming out. One thing to keep in mind is depending on where you are sitting is how many options you'll get. I was lucky to be closer to the output from the kitchen so I got a lot of options but the people at the other end had a more limited selection. There were lulls in the rate at which things came out but I didn't mind to much as it gave me a chance to digest and chat with my friends. As for overall sushi options they were pretty generic so they could suit most people however if you are looking for something really fancy this probably isn't the best option of sushi establishments . I did the all you can eat option which was $32.99, it was a little expensive in my opinion for what I got but I know my guy friends got theirs moneys worth so it probably depends on the person. They have a combo of conveyor belt items and special items you can order free or charge (for dinner mostly) via the app and the little train comes to your stop! That was my favorite part! Overall really nice probably would come again for a laid back dinner experience!

Cool experience for All you can eat Sushi. We came here Friday around 5:45pm. The restaurant was almost half full. They had lots of cool anime decorations. We got our table quickly and got right into picking food. There were some cool sushi and snack, and the rest were quite typical sushi rolls. Most of the food was good. Sushi rice was soft. There were some things I didn't enjoy: octopus salad was dried and didn't feel fresh. Tango roll was missing on the bell and Spicy tuna roll wasn't filled in long time. We had to wait for a while to get see another round of spicy tuna roll shows up. Food that ordered from the online menu was served quickly and sashimi was fresh. It's not the best sushi place I had visit but it's a fun experience.

I'm surprised at the mixed reviews, we had a great time. It was my husband and I, our four year old and two year old. We are from Buffalo and stopped for lunch before going to the Strong museum. We went at lunch time on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. We've had conveyer belt a couple times but not all you can eat, so we were excited for a new experience. It was very clean and I liked how there was a napkin dispenser, teriyaki sauce and sweet chili sauce on the table in addition to the soy sauce. I liked the variety of rolls, appetizers and desserts coming by and the little shinkansen train to bring the kitchen items out was super cute. My two year old loved the cheesy puff balls and ate several bowls. My favorite roll was a specialty roll that had steak and whipped garlic ricotta on it. I liked trying desserts that I haven't had before like the mochi donuts. The tuna seemed to be good quality. We will definitely be back!

What a fun little place. A great experience and the staff were wonderful. Price is a bit high but we understand why, definitely worth it for The fun and diverse food.

We had an amazing time at this restaurant on a Sunday for dinner. There were 2 of us, so we each got to sit next to the conveyor belt and grab what we wanted. I thought the selection of items on the conveyor belt exceeded expectations. There were avocado rolls, rainbow rolls, tempura rolls, spicy tuna rolls, mochi, herb jelly, cookies, donuts, spring rolls, scallion pancakes, tempura shrimp, crab stick nigiri, shrimp nigiri, tango rolls, eel rolls, seaweed salad, and sweet potato rolls. I loved the complimentary sweet chili sauce on the table. The staff were nice, attentive, and quick. I loved the music and decorations. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate a birthday. We love that they also have Tai chi bubble tea among their beverages. We would both go back.

The food service and staff is fast. There are plenty to choose from on the conveyor belt. However the quality of the sushi is below subpar. It's about as close as gas station sushi quality. But if you want to just eat a lot sushi, it's decent. The sushi rice was all cold. The only good thing here is the matcha donut.

Fun but a bit confusing. First time diners need to understand how it works. Do you order or do you pick from the "train"?

You are seated at a tablet in front of a conveyor belt with the sushi making it's way around the restaurant. You can take whatever catches your eye as it passes in front of you, or you can order from the tablet. If you order from the tablet, little cars bring the food on a second, higher conveyor belt above the first one, or sometimes a robot brings it to your seat. So there are 2 moving belts, robots, and servers. It's a lot! Fun, but be aware. It is cool that you can see things moving past and try different things. The plates on the belt are also less than a full order, which means you can try more things, if that's your style. Service is pretty quick since you're helping yourself from the belt. They do a good job making sure there is a variety of items on the belt and seemed to restock pretty quickly. You can mostly chose from rolls and nigiri. I do like American style rolls, and enjoyed the options. The guy prefers nigiri. We ordered some tempura and picked some nigiri from the menu as well. I really enjoyed the veggie tempura. They have good salmon - we tried the peppered salmon, which he thought was too much, but was smokey and peppery, and I enjoyed. There was also a spicy yellowtail, and plain salmon that was also nice quality. We shared an ice cream sundae with one of the little fish shaped cakes for dessert, which was really good. I liked the little cake with the red bean paste inside. It was fun and pretty low key.

Nothing spilled, everything still looked fresh, which already put me in a good mood. Now the food... I cannot believe how good the lobster roll is. If you haven't had it, you haven't lived. It's that kind of good. Like pause mid-bite, close your eyes, what is happening right now kind of delicious. The miso soup was a whole experience by itself. Warm, comforting, and it just felt nourishing. Not just something on the side, but something you actually appreciate with every sip. And the Brussels sprouts... I added just a little soy sauce and wow. Completely took them to another level. So simple but so good. This is one of those places where everything hits. Fast delivery, great packaging, and food that actually lives up to the hype. I'm already bookmarking this spot.

I chose this place because it offers not only sushi but also some dim sum dishes. It's a great place to try something new. We waited almost an hour for a seat on a busy night, but since it's an all-you-can-eat restaurant, I think it was reasonable. There were about 10 people ahead of me on the waiting list, and the food quality remained delicious throughout the meal. The service was also keeping up with the demand. The sashimi was incredible. I can't say I don't like any sashimi, but I love them all. Almost every sushi and sashimi we ordered was delicious. However, there's one thing I don't care for: the sticky rice shumai/shu mai. We think it's lacking in flavor. Overall, we had a great time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was good. I do think there's room for improvement in the dessert menu. They could add a few more options, like fresh fruits, Japanese mochi, or egg tarts. That's just my opinion, though.

We went on a Wednesday evening and were the only people in the restaurant for a little bit, so I would definitely recommend coming out on a week night if you can! Our server was absolutely lovely. Super attentive, even with the fact he didn't have to take our orders. Topped off our waters multiple times, made sure we were enjoying, etc. Speaking of ordering, their system is awesome!! It was super easy to browse the menu and make our selections, and we didn't have to worry about any awkwardness. Might just be a me thing, but I sometimes feel self conscious putting in a big order when I have to actually say it out loud to a person, so their phone ordering system was super helpful in making me feel more comfortable. The food was really good! On par with many other sushi places I've been in Rochester. I don't eat meat, and there were still so many veggie options for me. I especially loved the veggie dumplings and tofu skin/avocado roll. My bf loved the spicy crab onigiri and the beef skewers. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The price seems to be slightly cheaper than other AYCE places in the area, even for dinner. We will definitely be back! As much as I miss Tap & Mallet, I was very happy with this spot!

They are known as an all you can eat place, but we got two rolls for take away instead. From what I saw when picking up, the place looks nice enough inside, but nothing special. We ordered a Dream Roll and a 2 in 1 roll. Neither were that great and the dream roll was missing the tuna and salmon it was supposed to have and they used a crab stick instead of real crab which was disappointing as well. The 2 in 1 roll was ok but nothing special. I will say that the order was ready early and they were gracious enough to included eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side as I requested, because it was not available as an add on, so I am going to assume the service is solid. Unfortunately there are too many good sushi places in town to try this place again.

The Chef was making our sushi in the front of the restaurant. Which is really important to me. A chef who doesn't hide his kitchen is confident in the quality of their food, and their cleanliness. I ordered 2 sushi rolls. I cannot remember which ones. But they were extremely fresh and tasty. I will think on it while typing and see if I remember. I have "Chemo Brain" so it hard. I know you're not supposed to have Sushi while on Chemo, but I have been craving it for weeks. I decided it was time for treat. My Dr told me yes, as long as I picked a top notch place. My husband is skeptical of sushi, so I ordered him shrimp fried rice, and Hibachi beef with veggies and rice. We ordered online, ahead of time while we were out running errands. We arrived early. We were graciously welcomed by both the Chef, and a very nice woman. We took it to go, and drove home. Super easy, and I think it is a husband and wife team. A very kind woman packed our bags. I was so happy that she put the Sushi In a separate bag, than the hot food. This might sounds simple, but it is a HUGE mistake that many restaurants make. I usually always get my sushi hot or salads wilted by steam when we order to go, so it was a nice treat, that care and common sense was used. The sushi was amazing. Ooh I remember now! lol. 1 of my dishes was a tempura roll, with Tuna on top, Avocado, and spicy sauce. The 2nd dish was similar, but made with real crab meat. It had something in it that gave it nice crunch. May have been tempura chips. My husband liked the shrimp fried rice, they chopped the shrimp up small, so at first he didn't see any. But he liked the flavors. He said it made the flavor more consistent. The Beef Hibachi dish, he said wasn't worth it. Too little beef. There were a lot of squash in the mixed veggies. He is not a squash fan. I helped him eat it and I liked it. But I can see that the portions are not "Big man" sized. Which I knew taking him there. But Japanese food is not usually pig out plates. It's nice healthy food. That's is what I wanted, and since I am sick, I got what I wanted. haha! He actually really enjoyed my Sushi. He didn't finish the shrimp fried rice, so he cooked up some chicken later that evening, and mixed it with the shrimp fried rice. we ate again as a 2nd meal. It was delicious. We both decided they have excellent sushi, one of the best places I've had in Rochester. We will be coming back again. We will probably stick with Sushi and maybe try their noodles. I think next time we will eat there. Even though we had some things we didn't care for. I did want to judge the menu, until we try more of it. It was touted on Google and Yelp as a sushi restaurant, not as a full service Japanese restaurant. As a result I am giving a pass on what we didn't like. Because what we did like was AMAZING.

Osaka is the first all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in Rochester with their Chili location. Henrietta came after which then Chili eventually closed. Admittedly, it's been a couple years since I've been to Osaka. Hearing the switch in ownership, I was curious if there have been any changes. It's a yes and no for me. Starting with the good, I can see the quality of the food hasn't changed much. The menu for the most part stayed the same, and the items taste exactly how they did years ago. This is a good thing because I actually have never had an issue with Osaka's food. They've kept their extensive menu, and the items I ordered stretching from appetizers to kitchen food, to sushi have been fine. The appetizers come hot and fresh from the kitchen. Although the fish for the nigiri/sashimi/rolls could be better quality, it is passable and I've never had an issue. Another thing I immediately noticed is their upgrade to better dinnerware. Better presentation for the food, and they say people eat with their eyes. Where I can see some improvement is the service. We found our server to be very dull and came off as if he didn't want to be there. He did his job, but the bare minimum. He took our order and delivered it to us. We can see smiles on other staff members except him, but this didn't take away from our experience. Overall, $35ish bucks per person is a steal and you can definitely get your money's worth.

The food itself is good, especially the variety of sushi, though portions are small, so you'll need to reorder if you're hungry. The beef fried rice was overly oily and not recommended. When we arrived just after opening, the restaurant was empty. The staff seemed distracted one on her phone, the others in the back so it took a few minutes to get our drinks. I had to call another staff member to order a second drink because our waitress was nowhere to be found. Keep in mind there's only 1 hour and 30 minutes to eat, so slow service can feel frustrating. The environment is dark and a bit outdated, and it gets very loud once more people arrive. Overall, I recommend Osaka Sushi for sushi lovers or a relaxed group of friends who aren't in a hurry. Make sure to order a big first round of sushi to avoid waiting too long between orders.
