Jasmine green tea with lychee jelly + Oreo foam cake (+ some UWorld...)
    Vivian L.

I come here quite often to study as it is near my ballet studio. The teas and desserts themselves are amazing - Feng Cha is my favorite bubble tea franchise as their drinks always taste light and airy, not heavy and syrupy. My faves are the jasmine green tea (plain) with any variety of toppings, or the bursting dragonfruit with sparking soda. Unfortunately, this particular location has a few things that prevent me from giving it my usual 5 stars for Feng Cha locations: 1. The location is very understaffed. This is NOT the staff's fault. Whoever is making the schedules is putting only 1 person up at the front some days. That poor worker ends up having to take orders, make drinks, and handle frustrated customers. The wait time for your drinks here is much longer than some of the other locations around town. The workers themselves are friendly and nice though! Just stressed :( 2. They keep the AC high here! Even in the summer, I have to bundle up and usually end up bringing an extra jacket + a fleece blanket in order to stay warm. 3. Wifi is spotty. Some areas of the cafe (the booth in the corner is particularly troublesome) have very poor wifi. This has caused issues with me taking video calls or streaming lecture videos. I will say, it does get better if you use something like Cloudflare's WARP, but it still struggles. In short - delicious food and drinks. Actual facilities and staffing could be better.

We love Feng Cha. I'm reviewing this location because it's the closest to us, but we've also been to the one in the MarqE & on Bellaire. All are consistent & we absolutely love their drinks! I am a classic boba milk tea girl, 50% sweet, light ice. My daughter bounces around.. she used to get the Dragonfruit Burst w lychee jelly. Then she moved on to the Ube drinks (matcha & milk were both delicious), with lychee jelly. Her current favorite is the Strawberry Breeze w lychee jelly. I always get the drinks 50% sweet & light ice (when possible).

Feng cha is so so good. I've enjoyed having milk tea and I have to say I'm hooked. I got the crème brûlée dirty boba with the cheese foam and it's currently my favorite non-alcoholic drink. I love the interior as it has cute little claw machines and it's very clean inside. My only complaint is that the service isn't the best. It's not bad, but every time I've been, the workers aren't very friendly. They appear to choose who they say hello to and who they don't. Other than that, the drinks are awesome.

I absolutely love this place. My favorite drinks included the dirty latte and the matcha breeze w cream cheese foam. OMG soo good. What do I like about these drinks, you ask? Well i like the subtle sweet mixed with cold creamy unique flavors in each drink. Most of the flavors are derived from a healthy base like Matcha(green tea), or Taro(a type of potato-ish). These type of drinks are really unmatched. I add boba to every drink. Boba (honey and rice base jelly balls) They have a variety of other non-creamy drinks to choose from aswell. I will venture out to giving those a try soon.

Good tea with Abnormally unfriendly service? I usually don't pay too much attention to the service at boba shop, because I only order to go anyway, but the cashier was very annoyed when I asked what was the best seller in the shop... Other than that, the tea was alright, boba balls were well cooked. I might try out feng cha again, but for sure not at this location.

In continuing to find work spaces, I decided to try working at a boba shop. I've been to Feng Cha a few times and usually grab a drink and head out. The teas have all been solid and I like that customizing for quarter sweetness actually feels like its a good level of sweetness for me. I will say the boba was a bit if a let down for me, texture wise great but flavorwise lacking. Everytime I've been service has always been really nice and they seem to be working diligently. When I came to study, the cashier was kind enough to give me the wifi info so I could sit and work. Its definitely more spacious than most boba shops which lends itself to be a pretty casual, quiet work space. The only downside is probably parking but there are a few street spots out front.

I always avoided feng cha because I like milk tea and I thought they had a small milk tea selection. Little did I know, you could get their pure teas as milk tea as well. I got the jasmine green milk tea and it was pretty good but not as good as the times I've gotten it in the past. The jasmine flavor is prominent but I remembered it being more stronger last fall. I always make sure to get less ice on feng cha drinks because their drinks usually always get diluted fast when I order from them, especially their Richardson location. I always disliked feng cha because of my experience at their Richardson location but the Houston locations were definitely a lot better

Was craving boba but wanted to try a new spot that wasn't too far from my house. Feng Cha did not disappoint. I placed my order at self service kiosk and it didn't take long to get our drinks. The restaurant is nice size and located across from another tea house. I will definitely be back

After eating dinner across the street, it was easy to hop over to Feng Cha for a tasty drink. It's a typical boba shop, and we were the only customers at 7:30 on a Saturday night. My Vietnamese coffee came out quickly and woke me right up after being in a slump. Nothing extraordinary but nothing wrong either! Free parking garage across the street as well.

This is my go-to spot for boba in the Midtown area! Parking in the nearby garage is quick, easy and free, but it does require you to walk a short distance to get to Feng Cha. The drinks taste refreshing, I like to order an iced Jasmine Green Tea with Grass Jelly, Cheese Foam creme brulee on top (100% sugar and ice). On days where I prefer a milk tea, I order a Classic Milk Tea but with 70% sugar, since their milk teas are typically quite sweet. I like their sip caps, as it makes it easy to taste the cheese foam in addition to the tea! The service is solid and the drinks come out pretty fast. Make sure to get your receipt printed if you plan on using the restroom since the passcode would be on the receipt. The environment of the store location itself is nice and I occasionally enjoy studying there since the booths are clean and comfortable and there are outlets at each booth. I stop by here quite regularly and it makes for a good pick-me-up during the week!

So since my last review I felt compelled to write an updated one. I felt that the early review was based on the staff that worked on the other Feng Cha locations trying to get the Midtown one up to speed So after a few months of consistently coming here, few things really stuck out Come here if you want to study, or not in a hurry because these drinks take forever to make. (30 min in a busy time, 15 if there's no one there) I saw one of the employees spilled a large portion of my drink one time, had an oops face, and then proceeded to seal it and deliver it to me. No apologies or acknowledgment. Parking is still chaotic. I don't think I'll be coming back here for a while. There's a gong cha a few blocks away with a parking lot you can go to, and a kung fu tea across the street that has a garage. Both with faster service

    Sophia L.

Quiet atmosphere - felt like a really good place to study. In fact, there were several people studying there. It is located on the first floor of calais apartment, on the same road of the leasing office and across the street from kung fu tea. I've had Feng cha in different cities, and I've always liked their franchise. I got their drink and thought it was good. Taro slush is good but i'd recommend reducing the sugar - very sweet. I didn't try their signature dessert at this location. Would love to come back and try more stuff.

Really like this new location of Feng Cha! Good location, good service, and nice/clean interior. The drinks were good, as always. I ordered the Kiwi Basil Fruit Tea and loved it. Overall, recommend stopping by!

I made a quick stop here after work heading home, in preparation for a Friendsgiving dinner happening tomorrow. Immediately upon entering I was greeted with a hello which I appreciated. Customer service has always been top notch with the Spec's Team I like how they work to create a positive shopping experience each time I've visited a location and this spot is no different. Shout out to them! This Spec's location on Holcombe is a bit smaller than the location nearest my home, and a little "rough around the edges" in regards to its looks inside and outside, but it's ok, they have a good selection of wines, liquors and more and that'sall anyone would ask for. I had in mind to get a bottle of wine and call it a day, but a coworker suggested I get their Pecan Pie made with Crown Royal. Though a little on the pricey side for a pie, at a little over $20, I went ahead and bought it especially with Spec's staff bragging about how good it was! P.S. They ran out of samples to try, so I told them I'd take them at their word. So, the "jury" is out until tomorrow (I'll update then). All in all, Spec's is a great place to shop for any occasion and their prices aren't too bad. It's worth checking out if you've never been! Cheers, and enjoy! Update: The pie was good! Rich! Pecan-y, and yes you do taste the CR (Crown Royal) in it, but is not overpowering. Good flavor. Good balance. Try it!

The not so good news is the selection is somewhat limited. The store isn't that big and has a result. Some niche spirits that I might be looking for are never in store. Service isn't much better, but they're often telling me I can find what I want at another store. They're not the warmest bunch, which is why I try to find what I need on my own. Keep the needs basic and one should walk out of here relatively unscathed.

Most definitely!! Mr. Illick (I hope my spelling is correct) I absolutely love love love going to the Total Wine tasting classes! They're packed with history, food pairings, cocktail making ideas, and so much information. I've discovered new brands, learned things I never knew, and even met some great people. One of the best parts is getting to sample everything from budget friendly bottles to high end selections without breaking the bank. I first stumbled across these classes while shopping at Total Wines for a sweet wine. I had no idea they offered them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable they were. Since then, I've attended eight classes, and I've genuinely enjoyed every one. My favorite has been the Champagne class, and my favorite instructor is Illick he always does an amazing job making the classes both educational and fun. These classes are perfect for date nights, solo outings, girls' nights, coworker outings, or even a fun get together with friends and family. Every class includes a spread of sandwiches, fruit, crackers, cheese, cookies, and bottled water. They have from $20-$40 or free (depending on the class), you get all of those snacks plus 7-8 tastings. For me that's a great value! As an added bonus, they also give you 10% off your purchase after the class. So if you're looking for something fun, different, and budget-friendly to do, I highly recommend downloading the Total Wine app and checking out their tasting classes. You might just find your new favorite wine and a new favorite hobby!

I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.
