This was my second time having breakfast at Felina Cucina, conveniently located in the middle of Terminal A with access to all of the gates. They offer a variety of egg-based breakfast items, and the portion-sizes are better than other airport options. I very much enjoyed the avocado toast topped with two scrambled eggs with a side of arugula salad and potatoes. There is a full bar for those who would like a breakfast cocktail, but I opted for the orange juice. It was pretty basic, not a "fresh squeezed" version. The restaurant has ample bar and table seating. I have not tried their lunch or dinner selections, but I would recommend this restaurant for breakfast. read more

Yes this pizza was overpriced but it's at the airport so that was to be expected. It was delicious, it came out quickly and the staff is friendly so I have no complaints. Next time I fly, I'm going to do my best to eat before I go to the airport & brings some snacks otherwise this is the place to go for pizza. Wow - for once an EWR restaurant w/excellent service & decent food! Was at Terminal A & tried going to another place but the service was lazy & horrific so we left. This place was great! As soon as we sat down, the bartender promptly took our drink & food order & was pleasant & wanted to work. Our Kale Ceasar salads with chicken were good as well as my very $$$$ wine but that is how EWR rolls! They claim to bring authentic foods that can tell culinary stories while awaiting to reach your next destination. This Italian restaurant is quite neatly maintained. Got the White pesto arugula - no meat option, (more out of curiosity as I really wanted to know what that meant, I thought pesto was always green). I learnt that pesto has nothing to do with green, it actually means to 'crushed' in Italian. The base for the white pesto has walnuts as one of the main ingredients, so if you have nut allergy ..beware! It was still green but had hints of white in it too. Taste was really good. Like most Italian dishes, it was about making it simple and flavourful. Also got the only dessert I saw on the menu, the Tiramisu. This one disappeared in less than 5 min (I think), it was super delicious and totally melted in the mouth. Their rating is low because of their service. Maybe being up and about since 4 am gets on to them....but its not like the customer put them up to that task, is it.... Would definitely want to stop here again, but maybe take a togo. read more

Probably one of the better airport options. The food was decent but service awful - food takes forever to come out (and then mine came out wrong), and no one stops by to refill your water or is otherwise around to flag down if you have issues. So... was so looking forward to a hearty bfast before my morning flight to find that most things on their online menu did not exist. There's no fried eggs or potatoes so resorted to their avocado toast which I added egg whites to, to find out it didn't exist. I asked the lady then can you give me a cup of coffee since it's about the same cost... she was making a big deal how it was 50 cents more... seriously?! Stopped in because I am traveling through and won't have a chance to stop before I reach my hotel and was pleasantly suprised. Read some reviews so I wss concerned about the service but it was great. Nice and prompt, courteous and attentive. I ordered the Marinated olives appetizer and a pizza, came out in about 6 minutes and both were very good. Was disappointed when I ordered the bucatini pasta that they had no shrimp bc it's listed on the menu. I got it with the chicken so it was ok. Loved that it was served piping hot. Service was great. Not a good experience. I stopped for breakfast around 10 AM on September 7. Stood for a while before anybody paid attention to me and then got a passive aggressive OK to sit down wherever from one of their "employees". No signs to seat yourself, so assumed I had to wait. Someone's review said food wasn't great but wasn't terrible. Maybe their non-breakfast food is better, but their breakfast was horrible. Like less than one star horrible. Eggs were awful. Toast was stale and cold. Server was even colder. Came over and basically gave me a lecture about how he didn't want to be at work after asking him to repeat himself when he mumbled his first questions. I don't care if you don't want to be at work, you're in customer service! Then he comes back with the check for their horrible and outrageously priced food and it has a standard 18% gratuity. Should have told him where to put it instead of agreeing to pay 18% for service with an attitude but didn't want to get into a big fight with their miserable staff. Not worth the aggravation. Regret not just walking out after my first interaction with them. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

More of a "tip" than a review. Came in here before 10:30 so could only order from breakfast menu. Avocado toast on sourdough. This bread is not sourdough. This is a processed bread that comes from a plastic package. Not toasted. . The food is not great but not horrible. The issue I had was that when I requested my check - he had added an 18% tip. I was not permitted to choose my tip amount - or if I wanted to add a tip. What if I wanted to tip in cash? I questioned him if he added this amount and he was quite defensive. I'm not on board with this. I actually think this is wrong. I am a good tipper (standard 20%) but it's my choice - the customer as to what my tip amount will be. Service was excellent and the chef Yvonne even came out and introduced herself and asked how I liked my dish that I asked for customization on. I had the kale salad and a glass of rosé and asked to get blackened shrimp added to my kale salad. It was so good! She then complemented their executive chef Ramel. highly recommend you make a stop here on your way in or out of Newark airport! Additionally, the executive chef just came out to surprise me with a Complementary dessert, which he made himself after I shared with him that I was the first to review this business. Stopped in for food before my flight. Ordered the bucatini cacio e pepe. Not the best ever, but not bad at all. The bucatini was perfectly al dente. And the dish definitely came to life with the addition of salt and a lot of black pepper. But I also get it. It's an international airport with lots of people with lots of taste preferences, so the food has to be tempered back for the varied flavor palates. Nothing a little basic zhuzhing couldn't fix. Honestly, the biggest issue was the service. It was clear that because I was a table of one and was not drinking alcohol, I was never going to get much attention. But it would have been nice to get one refill of my glass of water. And I really didn't like having to wait more than 20 minutes to actually get my check, especially since the server for the one-person table next to me did not treat her customer the same way. That person sat after me, got an appetizier, a meal, multiple drink refills, paid her check, and was replaced by another customer who also ordered in the time it took me to eat my meal and have the dishes cleared. I like to think I am incredibly low maintenance, but I do appreciate the basics like being able to pay so I can leave and board my flight without having to rush. read more

Absolutely do not recommend spending any money here. My party was sat in between some staff prepping utensils and staff at the bar area yelling to one another, which disturbed our meal. Once it came to paying for our bill, we custom entered our tip amount (15%) and the waiter decided that the tip I chose to put wasn't enough, so I was then presented with a frustrated waiter who decided to re-enter the transaction for me to choose the "correct" tip. You would think that the tip amount of 15% is reasonable enough for a sub par experience. This waiter then proceeded to frustratingly ask for a review then and there. Please teach your staff how to be professional. read more

There was already a group of five women seated nearby, and I realized too late that they were turning the place into their personal pub. They'd moved tables together and were busy trying to out-shout each other with stories, barely listening, throwing occasional expletives, and bursting into loud laughter every so often. Not exactly the calm airport meal I had in mind. I asked the waiter if he could say something. He agreed they were out of line but said he was afraid to approach them and couldn't do anything "unless they ordered three drinks in ten minutes." I suggested to engage his manager but showed up at the end and did nothing. Food was airport-okay at airport-gouge prices. Orange juice came in a sealed plastic bottle -- no pour, DIY style. I tipped 15% considering subpar service. The waiter looked at it like I'd personally offended him and marched off without a thank-you. For that attitude, zero tip might've made more sense. I was looking for a quick lunch before my flight out of Terminal A at the Newark Airport. I chose this restaurant to try their brick oven pizza. I built my own pizza. Pepperoni, Sausage and Mushroom.
