Mmmm, classic NJ plain slice! Yum. I almost didn't enter Primavera's despite two "Yes, we're open" signs. They have drapes covering the glass doors and windows (I'm guessing to block heat in summer & cold in winter) I always want to see inside a restaurant before getting food. Leaving my rating, being generous, at 3 stars. As with my previous meal, I wouldn't get the Sicilian panini I ordered this time again! First what I received is dry focaccia bread served cold, not a pressed panini. Second, the texture of half the chicken was like brittle rubber! Seems to happen to chicken sometimes, but I couldn't eat it and threw it out! At least I was able to eat half of it! The pasta salad was tasty, but incredibly oily! Terrible service. Came here for the first time with my family. From the moment we walked through the door, some guy wearing glasses rolled his eyes when we asked for a table. I think his name was Alex (as per the check) He did not give us much time to look through the menu before he started asking what we wanted and seemed annoyed at the fact that we were taking too long to answer him. When we asked if they served wine, his answer was "there is a liquor store down the road" very annoyed. After that I just wanted to get out. We ordered from here at least once a week. The food is usually wonderful. Tonight we ordered, a veal parm dinner, sausage pepper and onion hero and tortellini alfredo. The veal and sausages were deep fried. They were so dry the veal was curling in on itself, and the sausages were completely dried out, when you bit into them they crumbled. The tortellini was almost as hard as when it went into the water. We called them, giving them a chance to address this issue. The person who answered the phone, could not have been more unconcerned. Going so far as saying he didn't believe there was a problem. We even told them to come and take it back to see for themselves. They weren't interested. Sorry to say, they have lost a customer. Once again , thank you to Sly and his staff-they never let us down. The food was fresh and delicious-the hotsy-totsy shrimp melted in our mouths.... The penne and vodka were perfection. Another small Italian gem in the area. We're staying in the area for a track meet, so the pre-race meal is almost always Italian so my son can load carbs and lean protein for the following day. Service was fast and friendly in a very tiny, quaint dinner setting beyond the pizzeria area at the front of the store. Dinner was delicious. I had the rigatoni with rabe and sausage. My son went with chicken saltimbocca with linguine. Portion sizes were perfect. There wasn't much of a crowd,. We were welcomed and seated immediately. All in all a good experience. I placed an order online on their actual Primaveras website as I normally do Saturday 4/1/23 at 9:12 pm for delivery, I received email with order# that order was received & confirmed. At 9:27 I received email that order was completed & how did they do. Still waiting for order to be delivered at 9:52 I was concerned where order was being they close at 10:00pm, the call was answered I ask where my order was he tells me the kitchen is closed, I repeat again that the order was placed at 9;10 & I received confirmation plus email that the order was completed, he pauses then tells me again I don't know what to tell you the kitchen is closed. Well after saying very angrily a few choice words & telling him they just lost a customer I hung up. Now I just called my credit card company to see if I was charged & the scumbags charged me for an order they never delivered. I've had messed up orders before that I let slide I won't order pizza from there for reasons I won't get into but this was just total BS the guy that answered the phone was a clown. Own up to your mistakes there was no reason I should have had to contact DoorDash to pick up an item they forgot to pack. Long story short they didn't offer to deliver it so I had to get it myself. Everything is delicious!!!! You can't go wrong with any of the options on their menu here. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed with an old Brooklyn style pizzeria feeling. Casual seating in the front and a nice sit down area in the back of the restaurant. They seem to host a lot of the linden policemen here. Haven't been here at a time when I didn't see an officer enjoying a nice meal. It is conveniently placed by the gym and has a lot of different and delicious options for salads but you definitely need to try Grandma's Pizza if you're here!!! Great spot for pizza or Italian dinners. I go there often, and never had a bad experience. Tonight I ordered hot and cold sandwiches. Pretty good value as well. The sandwiches are reasonably priced. The portion isn't huge but certainly adequate. The staff is always friendly. I've never dined in, but it looks like that would be a good experience as well. The grilled chicken with roasted peppers and mozzarella was the best sandwich I got today. Delicious! We just ordered cheesesteak sandwiches and vegetables wrap for delivery not only was it delicious but was still hot. My Sister said the wrap was one of the best she has ever tasted. This is our go to place on nights I don't like to cook. The menus is extensive and we have never been disappointed. I just visited this restaurant a few weeks ago with my wife at their new location on Saint Georges Ave. I have to say that this place is a diamond in the rough. We ate in the dining room. Fortunately for us the dining room was not crowded. Unfortunate for them. I quite don't understand why this place isn't packed. You can always get a good judgment of an Italian establishment by their fried calamari. Our order was plentiful and delicious and enough for four people as an appetizer. My wife had a pasta dish that was al dente and very flavorful. I had one of their house specials the Bracciole over linguine. The meet was prepared as it should be tender garlicky and delicious. Again, I am not sure why people are not packing in this place. It is a BYOB and a liquor store is located in the same strip mall. How can you go wrong. We have also ordered a pizza which is also an excellent choice. Maybe some extensive advertising is needed. But then again, if the place is packed I will have to wait for a table. I hate to be selfish. But seriously, you need to try this place. It has such great potential with a cozy and well decorated dining room in the back. Definitely check this place out. I don't ever want to write a bad review, especially when it comes to someone's business, but I've now had the displeasure of dealing with their very rude staff twice and will no longer be doing business with them (mainly because of that).. The first time, I ordered in and gave the delivery man what I thought was a fairly reasonable tip considering he only really walked across the street ($2.00). I was then given a nasty look, and asked "that's it?". I said "yeah, it is" and then he shook his head, cursed, and walked away. The second time, I took a walk to the liquor store in the same strip mall and decided that Italian would go good with the bottle of wine I was getting. I ordered the food, got the wine and came back. The guy running the register was not welcoming, and seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. After I paid, I asked if I could have a plastic bag to carry my food since I was walking and it was raining. Guy at the register sighs audibly, gets the bag, and then tells me "here's the bag, but you have to bag it yourself" in a nasty tone. I have never seen any business talk to a customer this way. I'm not sure what the working conditions are there, but it's no excuse to take your attitudes out on your customers. Last I checked, I'm the one paying money for a service. To make matters worse, the food is overpriced, they give you very little, and it tasted mediocre at best. There are much better places in the area, so avoid this one. My family has frequented this pizzeria for over 2 years bc my son enjoys their pizzas. I never had a complaint until last night for some reason the pizza had a weird, horrible smell like spoiled dairy and the pizza tasted weird- my son refused to eat it. I called and politely tried to tell them about this and the owner went off on me. I was so disappointed and this was very unexpected. He kept asking me what I wanted him to do because I'm not helping him by saying it smells weird and of the hundreds of pizzas he made and sold all day I'm the only one complaining. I was so insulted. My husband and I decided to give it a try after getting fliers in the mail. We love Italian food so we were very excited for some yummy pizza and pasta. We ordered a simple spaghetti with vodka sauce and the grandma's pie. The vodka sauce was creamier than expected and was closer to an Alfredo sauce.
