My colleagues and I came here for our company Christmas dinner and for a colleague's birthday dinner. Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean and organized with very few customers at the time. The staff: They did not greet us when we walked in and just looked at us. We told them that we had a reservation, and they sat us at our table. The staff was friendly and helpful during our time at the restaurant. Free bread: The bread was hard on the outside, but it was soft on the inside. The bread was a little bland even with the butter that they had provided to us. Mozzarella & Corozza: The bread had a little crunch to it and the cheese was melted to perfection but lacked taste. It tasted well with the marinara sauce and was something different to try. Jalapeno Poppers: The outside layer of the jalapeno popper was crunchy. The inside of the poppers was filled with cheese. The jalapeno poppers were not spicy at all. The sauce that came with this appetizer was ok. Garden Salad/Caesar Salad: The side salad was fresh and tasted good with the dressing that came with it. Chicken Parmigiana w/ Linguini: They cooked the chicken to perfection, and they gave me two big pieces of chicken. I was shocked by the size of the chicken. The pasta sauce was delicious and was not sour. The linguini was al dente. Overall: The experience at this restaurant was not too bad. I would probably come back here only for some special occasion. The appetizers were good but some of the items needed a little more flavor. The entree was pretty good that we ordered. I love this place. I have come here many times over the years. I particularly love their vegetable pizza. It's tough to do a takeout of that pizza however it gets soggy because of the fresh veggies . But that's my go to here, that, and their meatballs are spectacular. A little more pricey than other places but worth the extra $$. It's a nice place too. Good parking. Oh, I love everything about DiItalia! I feel that is my home away from home. Eat there frequently, really frequently. Any of the former complaints I see listed on this site, they must be talking about a different restaurant. The staff is beyond friendly and efficient. Food is always piping hot and delicious. I've been coming to d'italia with my family for as long as I can remember. It's a little Italian gem hidden on route 35. They are a pizzeria with a small dining area. They have a huge following so the dining room tends to be crowded especially on weekends. You can call ahead to make reservations, which I absolutely suggest even for weeknights to be on the safe side. The food here is so delicious, they have a perfect red sauce that isn't too sweet and also not too herby. Their house balsamic dressing is the best I've ever had, hands down! It's creamy and vinegary and just perfect. I've had wraps, salads and classic Italian (American) dishes, all have been cooked perfectly and very tasty. My favorite menu item is the Tortellini Al Forno, but they always have great specials and really you just can't go wrong at D'italia! read more

Horrible. I read the reviews before I decided to try this place. For the most part I saw all positive reviews, everyone I read spoke highly about it. Well that was not my experience whatsoever. It started with the timing, I had no idea the place closed at 8pm, again this was my first time ordering from them, strike one. It never even updated on the DoorDash app and the length of time kept changing, strike two. Finally, the pizza was hard and tough to bite, the cheese overcooked and felt hard to chew. There wasn't enough sauce and cheese evenly and the sauce tasted sweet, too sweet. I never had a pizza with sugar in the sauce . I was so disappointed and wasted 35+ dollars and change. I would have been better ordering from a chain pizza spot and would have spent less. It's not about the money it's about the quality and taste of the food. I pay for what I want and I want what I paid for, it's about the principal. If you know you are about to close your deliveries should stop an hour before closing especially if you are selling someone leftover pizza or a pizza that had been made hours prior and you reheat way too long because that's how it tasted, epic failure fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me ! read more

Nice crowd for a Saturday... This time (November) we were a group of 14. Italian and a BYOB again like last month, but highly recommended for this round. Popular appetizers were Coconut Shrimp & Garlic Shrimp Bruschetta along with those mussels. (Sorry no photo). :) Main entrees for her the Butternut Squash Raviolis. While I went for a grouper, which was over mashed potatoes with cranberries and spinach. Portions here are very hearty. If coming for dinner, expect to have leftovers. You would think after taking a bite of something that could've potentially caused me a lot of health problems after swallowing , would warrant a free of charge bill. My son and I went to dinner in the Woodbridge area this week. We both felt like eating Italian so I suggested we go to the D'Italia restaurant on St Georges Av. due to positivity of Yelp. This place is a pizzeria and restaurant under the same roof and appeared spotless. Since it was during the week, it was easy to procure a table. The menu was quite large so we asked our server, Jimmy, to narrow down the choices. Note: you're not supposed to ask your server what they prefer because it might not be in tune to your taste , but after listening to him making various fish/meat dish selections and not mentioning any specials whatsoever, we both went for the Shrimp, Scallops Diavalo picante. I'm very excited to finally write this review because I have been ingesting food from D'Italia's since I was a wee little girl. I live locally and my family has been coming here/ ordering pizzas from here for well over a decade. Hopefully, my review will give you a fineee inside look at this establishment and what it's all about. Here it goes: First off, BYOB which we love. PARKING: There is a private, free parking lot. SERVICE: Everyone here is very friendly, often they let you sit wherever you want. Food always comes out in a timely manner and hot. Maybe its because I've been a customer here so long but I do feel that when you dine here your business is truly appreciated. ATMOSPHERE: Italian baby. There's an Italian mural painted on the wall with warm tones consistent throughout the restaurant. D'italia is by no means a modern or trendy restaurant however, the décor is reflective of the menu and restaurant theme. The dining space is separated into 2 parts. What I would consider the pizza parlor area and the dining room area. You are welcomed to sit wherever you like regardless of what you are ordering. In the summer months outdoor patio seating will also be available. They will accommodate private parties as well I would say the space can hold a max of about 50 people comfortably, give or take. FOOD: I've ordered numerous things off this menu you just simply cannot go wrong. Portions are a VERY nice size you won't leave hungry. APPS: jalenpeno poppers, fried zucchini is top notch, calamari is excellent. Entrees come with delicious hot semolina dinner rolls that are just unmatched anywhere in central jersey. Entrees also come with a salad I highly recommend the house balsamic its is sooo delicious unlike anything else anywhere else. One of my favorite sandwiches is the eggplant panini served on a ciabatta roll with balsamic. Eggplant anything here is great, very thinly sliced. I've had the shrimp scampi over angel hair, the shrimp is jumbo ad delicious. It really feels like a small-town, family restaurant when you go to eat there. The staff is super friendly, the owner is almost always working when I go, and they recognize their repeat customers. Wait times vary depending on your order size but are usually under an hour. Deliveries are always within 10 min of their est. delivery time and their drivers are very friendly. Every pizza type I've had has been delicious, and their pasta dishes are the best in the area. So we had the worst experience. We placed a party order there for 8 pizzas, 6 garlic breads, a huge tray of baked ziti and a big tray of bow tie Alfredo. There were leftovers of course. We kept some and my sister took some to Philly. The very next day we eat the leftover ziti and me and my 3 year old son throw up that night. I would have given them the benefit of the doubt, but my sister's husband in Philly ate it too and fell sick. My husband was ok cz he ate the Alfredo leftovers. So clearly the only TV ing in common was the ziti. My son got so sick, had seizures and ended up in jfk for 3 days. The worst week of our lives. Clearly they used stale sauce in the ziti. I called them to talk about this, and instead of being understanding and apologizing about this, the owner gives me grief and talks in the worst way possible. He is the guy with salt and pepper hair and glasses. So rude and so not understanding. No apology at all. Do not ever order catering there. God knows how early the prep their sauces. The only downside of this review is that I live on the other side of the country and can't make D'Italia Restaurant a weekly stop. How do you say "WOW" in Italian? Unbelievably great food. Yes, you can get masterfully made pies, but don't let the pizza menu sidetrack you from the many other gastrointestinal delights that await. If you are a fan of lobster, you absolutely must, must try the lobster ravioli. The best my tastebuds have ever encountered, period! The antipasto salad is to die for, but be sure to get the small size if you want to eat anything else. A lot of our friends love this place. For them it's almost like eating at home as they seem to be friends with everyone that works there. My issue was that I follow a low carb way of eating and there was nothing on the menu except a Cobb Salad. However, that Cobb Salad turned out to be extremely large and very good so no complaints other than I was more in the mood for a steak or chicken or something like that. Lots of parking.
