They were very accommodating with any customizations or alterations for our dishes! Tasted fresh and handmade. My favorite dish was the chicken parm with pasta on the side. I added vodka sauce to the chicken and it was a game changer. I don't like filet mignon but their steak was so good - tender and moist with so much flavor. The pork chop was one of the best pork chops I've ever had! Their drinks were delicious as well. Their portions are a little smaller, but the quality and flavors make up for it! There's tons of parking. Waiters are attentive. Food was lacking. Got the burrata appetizer. They came and sliced everything in half. Legit one ball of burrata, sliced the slice of tomato in half. Plucked one basil per person. And divided the peppers into two portions. The peppers were stringy and if you have a thing for texture, AVOID. I don't mind different textures but this was truly slimy and gross. Also seemed like I was just eating a garden for the low price of $16 for a ball of cheese and half a slice of a tomato and two sprigs of basil. The fish was overcooked. The sauce was good, it had a subtle grape flavor very nice - but so little. It was so dry and overcooked without the one tsp of sauce. The pasta was the only good part. I loved the clams, they were cooked perfectly and the linguine tasted yummy. Not too heavy, yet still very flavorful. The building reminded me of the haunted castle ride from Disney. Recently ate here for a business meeting. The service was top notch and truly made for a delightful experience. After bread and drinks, one of our diners ordered the Shrimp Arrabiata (rock shrimp sautéed with garlic, white wine, herbs, lemon, hot pepper flakes and a touch of butter) for $12.00. There were two plates ordered and shared across 6 people. It was very very good but I would recommend it be shared just between two people and that it be eaten with the bread they serve. For my entrée, I chose the Ravioli Al Funghi (mushroom ravioli with cream truffle sauce and crumbled goat cheese) for $19.50 and the Grigliata Mista Di Verdure Con Olio Di Tartufato (grilled vegetables in truffle oil) for $12.00. The ravioli was sooooooo good. I would definitely recommend it and order it again. It is a very small portion so keep that in mind if you're really really hungry. The vegetables were a little disappointing. It included some grilled peppers, eggplant, oblong onion, and radicchio. They were fine but they were very difficult to cut. The onion was undercooked and still too firm to cut easily, but the radicchio was overcooked and the leaves were too leathery to cut. So, I ate one pepper, a little bit of the onion, and tried to eat the radicchio but it was impossible. We all finished our meals with coffee. The cappuccino was excellent and was served with a tiny little biscotti which was the perfect foil for the rich drink. This is an excellent restaurant if you're looking for fine dining, good Italian food, good service, and white tablecloths. I didn't drink the wine but those that did felt the house wines (by the glass) were very good. read more

We just came here for an early Valentines Day dinner. One good thing about this place is the parking.they do have their own parking lot but ofc we didn't see it and ended up parking in the free parking lot behind the block. So we walked in and it's a little weird because the entrance is in an alleyway but it's so cute once you walk in. One thing you will see is "proper attire is required" which is a little weird to me because there were people wearing jeans and sneakers but whatever. But you do need to make a reservation! Once we got there and told the host our names we were immediately seated. We were seated a table where it seems like they sit smaller parties of 2-4. Once we sat someone came over and asked if we would like water. Shortly after the same man came back and asked if we would like something to drink. Our drinks were really good. The Cabernet I had was good to me. It wasn't too bitter.I ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and the pappardelle bolognese as my meal! The shrimp cocktail was alright (not the biggest fan of colossal shrimp) but my BOLOGNESE was soooooo good! I would definitely say go for the bolognese if you do come! My boyfriend has the lamb sausages and the asparagus risotto which was also very good! Best thing was it wasn't that expensive! Considering we each had two rounds of drinks and he had a dessert, it honestly is a good deal when you eat here. This place has excellent food, service and the atmosphere is just wonderful! Wow! I went here for my anniversary dinner and I loved decor and ambiance of classic Italian fine dining. The staff was quick friendly and all wearing proper PPE. The food was all delicious from the homemade fresh mozz appetizer to the creamy pistachio cheesecake. For the entree I had the Rigatoni al Funghi which was delicious as well. Although Yelp gives this restaurant three $$$, we found that the pricing is reasonable and right on par with other fine dining restaurants in NJ. Went here for a group lunch, they have an outdoor patio covered with really large umbrellas. The staff all wore gloves and masks and were super friendly. We ordered the calamari which was ok and could've used a little more salt and fried a little longer. I ordered the pork chop which came with mixed veggies and roasted potatoes. The pork chop probably was at least 8oz. It was outstanding covered in hot peppers (optional) and artichokes. The others loved their salmon dishes and shrimp francese. For dessert, we got the trio of sorbet which was absolutely amazing. Different then other sorbets I've had. It was creamery. We had the Chocolate Temptation and the Torta Nocciola. We went to Il Castello's to celebrate a birthday. We were seated in a private room near the rear of the restaurant. The decor was nice and the atmosphere seemed pretty cool. The restaurant was pretty busy though it was a Saturday night. The large group of us shared calamari, sausage and mushrooms, roasted pepper and tomato and mozzarella. There was also bread and butter for the table. The bread came warm but unfortunately got hard as it cooled. The calamari was fried well but could have used a bit of seasoning on the breading. It lacked a bit of salt and pepper. I did enjoy the tomato and mozzarella. The mozzarella tasted fresh. I didn't really try the sausage and mushrooms as I was already feeling pretty full and needed to still get to my entree. I ordered the scallops and risotto. For some reason my entree didn't come out with the rest of the group. When my entree came out, others were almost halfway through their entrees. Thankfully I was pretty full already so it wasn't a big deal but there did seem to be some mix up with the wait staff. When my entree did come, the risotto and the sauce that was over it was prepared well and had good flavor. The scallops were very large but I was a bit disappointed that they lacked salt (which is kind of a cardinal rule not to break in cooking right?). I didn't taste any garlic or salt on the giant succulent scallops which would have made it very decadent. But, at least, they weren't over cooked. Would have preferred them to be pan seared with butter and garlic than grilled. The dessert sampler was decently good. I enjoyed the tres leches cake more than I did the tiramisu. I wanted the tiramisu to be a tiny bit more moist. The chocolate cake also seemed to lack moisture. Overall the restaurant would have earned a 3.5 star rating from me. The portions were generous but for the portion size they give I think I'd be very disappointed if the portions weren't as large. For the cost and the quality, I think this restaurant earns a 3.5 from me. read more

This was on a list of recommended nearby restaurants provided by the hotel. Our uber driver said he'd been here once before and said the seafood was good. We felt underdressed when greeted by someone in a tuxedo. We were wearing jeans or leggings and had just gotten off a plane. There are two seating areas. We were in the front dining section where there were others dressed in business casual attire. A party room in the back was being used for a retirement party and sounded very animated. The table had a buffalo mozzarella caprese salad which was a refreshing start to our meal. It wasn't quite enough for five people to have a single serving of the mozzarella but it kept us from overindulging before the entrees arrived. One gentleman had the Il Castello chicken and liked it so much he wanted the recipe or a second serving so he could have it at home. I had the roasted salmon which was perfectly cooked. The mushroom ravioli and the other two dishes were raved about. We split the tiramisu and the triple chocolate cake (white chocolate, milk chocolate and chocolate mousse). One person ordered espresso with dessert and said it was one of the best she'd ever had. Wait staff was unobtrusive yet took good care of us, bringing more bread, refilling our water, and bringing more wine. We joked about coming back the next night, and if we didn't have such a tight turnaround between a business meeting and getting to the airport we would've gone. read more

Food was decent but overpriced. I honestly think the portions were small for the price. The service was what was awful. The maitre de was rude to us. We had a reservation that was made online in which we had to change the time to later. He said it wasn't there, even though my daughter spoke to a hostess and knew her name. He had a table available, but made a big deal about seating us. Our poor waiter was swamped, and running around like a lunatic. The maitre de, what looked like a manager, and busboys did very little to help with the tables despite the waiter being crazy busy.. they were mostly just standing around. We waited forever just for water, then to order, then to be cleared. We planned on dessert and coffee, but decided to go elsewhere. When we waved to the maitre de to ask for our check 30 minutes after our meal was cleared, he blatantly ignored us. It was definitely one of the worst service I've had in a long time.
