Ferrraro 1061 was so amazing today being the place my wife chose to have a luncheon after my father in laws funeral. From the moment our larger group (30/35 people) arrived the staff was ready to go. They had apps out very quickly and made sure everyone had whatever they'd like to drink. Mike the owner had allowed for our large group to order right off the menu, which can be extremely stressful for a kitchen staff but they handled it as if they do this in their sleep. Seriously kudos to the cooks & I'd be remised if didn't praise our servers who were on top of all of our wants and needs (seriously thank you ). Came to Ferraro with a large friend group. We called ahead and they accommodated us easily. At times the dining room was a bit loud and hard to hear some of the people at the table but we were comfortable. The waitress was friendly, a little rough but you can tell it's just her manner and that she's quite friendly. She was charming. I love the bread they give you while you're waiting. I think it's foccacia. All of the food was very good. It definitely took some time to get to us, so when you come here, plan for a longer night and don't go if you have plans afterward. They take their time but the results are tasty. One issue, my friend ordered a type of fish and was given shrimp in the same style that she ordered. They offered to take it back and give her what she ordered but she didn't want to sit and wait even longer for her food so she agreed to take the shrimp. She was disappointed but said the shrimp was delicious. I was surprised they did not offer her anything, not even a free beverage! Most establishments would have comped something since it was their mistake, but, I guess times are hard for us all. read more

Great food, great service, homey ambience. Our party of six thoroughly enjoyed a Saturday night dinner here. The food was absolutely delicious, portions were very generous and well worth a very reasonable price. We especially liked the family style salad with a homemade vinaigrette And the basket of garlic bread with a brushed on tomato sauce topping. Entrée Portions were large and very tasty. We ordered several of the cheesecake in praline cones for dessert and split them. Oh, Yum! It's a five minute drive from the Hilton Garden Inn near the Raritan Expo Center. A real winner! I am giving a 2 Star bcz my last visit was very disappointing. I normally order to- go. I called to order a large soup, and a Sicilian slice. I was told they had no regular Sicilian only Grandma's (which is a lil more$) . I said ok since I was picking up to take to work. In addition added a tiramisu. My biggest issue was that upon pickup I asked for some parmesan cheese the man tending to me advised me there was a charge for that. I was absolutely taken back, annoyed. I ordered a large Pasta Fagioli soup which it is normal to add parmesan cheese, as well to the Sicilian Gma slice. The Slice had a small piece of mozzarella ,it was not a good Gma Sicilian slice and the Tiramasu was a mini slice of a not so resembling or tasting very much of what it should. I truly like the soup but after this last visit I am really thinking twice about continuing ordering from here. read more

I am so disappointed. My mother in law and a group of 5 girlfriends stopped at Ferraro 1061 for lunch after their AARP meeting which ran late. They arrived just after 2pm and you would not honor the lunch menu. They asked. Fixed income local seniors. My MIL over 90 raves over your food. She nor her girlfriends can do $40 lunches. My wife and I went there last weekend after seeing a commercial on News12 programming. We were pleasantly surprised of the quality of the food and atmosphere. It's a BYOB place which works well with us. Our waitress was very attentive, and the owner even stopped by to ask us how our meal was. One of the worst pizza I've ever had , and the highest price as well. I thought it was very odd why the parking lot was empty at lunch time. I soon found out. Its a very nice looking place, but I came to have good pizza. Avoid at all cost. My sister told me this a few years back but I forgot she told me. "Pizza that is worse then frozen pizza". We had my friend's 50th birthday here last week and it was great! Mike the owner was super accommodating and made sure everything was set up when we arrived, they even had a table already set up for gifts and the cake when I came early to decorate. The staff was amazing and even with the multiple checks we had with people sitting all over the place, they still got everything right!!!! Well, I have to say I've been living here in Perth Amboy for 25 years and always passed this Italian restaurant never stopped. Will I have to say that was a mistake!!! This place is the most delicious Italian food in the area. Hands-down. The service is impeccable and greeted with a warm smile and grace. Nobody can compare to this spot in the area. As many places are in the area, this is a byob restaurant. The interior feels like an upscale pizza parlor so don't expect white linens on the tables or fancy dinnerware. I ordered my typical chicken parm with a side of spaghetti and it was pretty good. Not the best that I've ever had but it hit the spot just fine. Wasn't crazy for the pizza dough style bread they give you and the red marinara sauce was a little watery. Overall it was good and I'd probably return if it's convenient. Don't think I'd go out of my way to return however. Also noted that parking is very limited and you'll probably need to park down a side street. read more
