I grew up with my family's amazing Italian food, my friends hate going out for Italian food with me because I have such high expectations. Ferraro 1061 is one of the few places I truly love. Starting from their legendary salad - this is like the salad my mom put on the table for us, simple oil and vinegar, which brings back memories, but with the added touch of beautiful chunks of pungent cheese. It wants to be munched with some of their delicious little focaccia squares which are like little tender pillows of heaven. Speaking of those little squares, be sure to ask for the off-menu item of meatball sliders, little sandwiches of their amazing meatballs on those delectable little things. Yum! Look out for their weekend specials announced on Facebook every week. Tonight we went for the pork osso bucco with risotto, which was insanely good, and mozzarella en carozza, one of the best variations I've ever had with a nice eggy batter fried in a good quality oil. It tastes like something you would get at an Italian festival. Great place for all the traditional Italian-American dishes you would expect: parmigiana, a la vodka, marsala, francese, Sunday sauce, etc. And some great original dishes as well. We left riverhead ,Long Island to go on a day trip back to new jersey where my wife lived 71 years ago and found her original house which was her dad's chicken farm. I also spent time on a chicken farm near where her dad's farm was. On the way back around so we stopped rush hour we decided to eat dinner and leave back home e after the rush hour. We got off at Edison NJ and saw a nice little Italian place Ferraro1061. What a find it was. Friendly. The bathroom was cleaner than mine, had a great antipasto and chicken Marsala everything was delicious. On our. Next jersey trip we will try to get there again. A small, casual busy restaurant on the weekends. Reservations are recommended. Never had their pizza so I can't comment on that. Their food is very good. I especially like the scallops franchaise and shrimp parm. The filet of sole is fresh and tasty. Entrees are served with a family style salad and warm focaccia. Service is good. Tables are very close together and the place is small so it gets very loud. We eat there at least once a month. It's worth a try for sure read more

Tonight was the first time I've been to this restaurant. Their salad, bread and baked ziti were very tasty, but the scallops were overcooked and rubbery. The restaurant was packed since it was a Saturday night. But even without a reservation we immediately got seated. The biggest problem we had was the noise level. It was very difficult to have a conversation. We had to practically shout to each other, and we and the staff had to repeat what we said because no one could hear what we were saying. I have eaten here many times over the years and I'm still impressed with the homemade and flavorful entrees and sauces. Some of the deserts have changed some, yet I was able to enjoy a wonderfully flavored caramel creme brûlée . The pizzas are also quite delicious if your in the mood. For my lunch today I throughly enjoyed my lemon piccata veal and spinach lunch portion. The stuffed ravioli was also enjoyed by the table. We have been waiting to come back since they closed down for a new beginning, and boy they did not disappoint!! The renovations are amazing inside and out. The staff, beyond nice and helpful, and the food..... DELICIOUS! We got bread and a salad to start off and it was great. We got an app of fried calamari and omg it was some of the best I've had in a while along with their sauce for it. The pizza we ordered was great as well! I got the penne vodka and asked to add grilled chicken. The pasta was AMAZING. The chicken was mouth watering good too we will certainly be back! The food and service was very good, since we live nearby had to try out the new Ferraros. The wait staff was very attentive and the service was quick. They have a good menu and you can BYOB. Will definitely return. FYI, this business just opened last year, but many of the reviews are old and probably relate to the old Ferraros. read more

Held my daughter's baby shower at Ferraro's 1061, set up in a private room. Started off with appetizers of calamari rings, mini rice balls and burrata cheese. (I have to say that the plates had to constantly be refilled bc guests were devouring them quickly!) The calamari rings were so light and crispy and the mini rice balls had the gooey cheese in the middle. For our main entrees, many guests really loved the eggplant rollatini ("melt in your mouth") and sole filet francese("fresh"), among others. The service was great! This is an old-school italian-american restaurant. It reminds me of the pizzeria I had by my house when I was little. I got a veal with vegetables on pasta special for lunch. It was some veal cutlets that were pan-fried with mushroom and canned artichoke, then tossed in a wine cream sauce. The sauce was so delicious and reminded me of any traditional pizzeria italian food. It wasn't salty, but creamy and oily. It really hit the spot when I was craving some italian-american food. I'm also excited to see that on their menu they have scungilli salad. I find very few italian restaurants that still serve that. It's conch that's tossed in a vinaigrette. I'll have to try that next time I go. For $12 the veal pasta lunch special was definitely worth it. I have some leftover pasta for tomorrow for lunch. One of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants in the area! I've been coming here for the past couple of years and have never once had a bad experience. The salad that they give you with each meal is phenomenal... that dressing is to die for! I love so many of their main courses but today I got the ziti siciliano, ziti with meat sauce and eggplant. Absolutely wonderful! I split a cheesecake cone with someone and that was delightful as well. This place is just your typical East Coast hole in the wall Italian restaurant. Not a huge fan of this place. Slow service and mediocre food is usually my experience at Ferraro's. There are some positives to the meal, the bread they bring out is always nice and warm. Also, the salad is very good. It's crisp and fresh with a generous amount of salad dressing on top. But that's really where the positives end. All of my main courses there have been pretty blah. Last night I had the gnocchi in a marinara sauce. First of all, the meal was suppose to come with mozzarella cheese and there was no cheese in sight. I noticed other Yelpers have had trouble getting specific cheeses on their meals or any cheese at all. I guess they like to hold on to their "fancy" cheese. Second, the sauce was not very good. It was very watery and did not have much flavor at all. There are many other Italian restaurants in the area, I'd check them all out first before you end up at Ferraro's. read more

Newly re-opened Ferraro's 1061 is definitely worth the visit. Beautiful dining room and food was excellent. Big bowl of fresh salad served family style to start the meal. The seafood (linguine pescatore and scallops Francese) was fresh, plentiful and cooked to perfection. Clams oreganata was wonderful with delicious, garlicky topping. My husband raved over the rice pudding dessert. Service was excellent, friendly and perfectly paced. Looking forward to a return trip with family. read more
