I enjoyed the baby lamb chops over white bean salad w/lemon vinaigrette after sharing calamari with a spicy mango sauce . My friends enjoyed the grouper and the lobster salad ; all were good sized portions cooked perfectly. We shared profiteroles and carrot cake and everyone was pleased . Service for a large group was attentive and restaurant allowed you to bring your own bottle so the final bill was more manageable . Parking is available out front. read more

03/30/2026 Came to gather with my wife, my sisters and brother in law. We'd had a birthday gathering at their Fresco restaurant and went home very full and happy. We were brought downstairs to a large room full of tables and were the only ones in there. We wondered if we'd insulted someone, or if one of us might be 'offensive', (no one was) but as it turns out, it was a 'Godsend'. We're all in our 70's and hearing/speaking can be challenging in a crowded/noisy dining room. We remained the only ones there for almost the entire 2 hours we were there and really enjoyed ourselves without having to yell or ask "WHAT!?" We shared a couple of salads (Greek and Arugula) and calamari, all very good. My wife had the seafood capellini and one sister the seafood fra diavolo, which they both enjoyed. My other sister had a seafood salad and my BIL went for the double cut pork chops, which he too enjoyed. I opted for the Halibut / risotto. Halibut is not an easy fish to make 'moist or juicy'. I make it at home and it comes out 'pretty good' (at least my wife says so) but here, this portion was fantastic! So light an flaky and tasty. Definitely give it a try if you enjoy Halibut. We all shared a couple of desserts... a home made carrot cake and a chocolate cake from 'outside'. Both good, but the carrot cake was served warm, which was a first for all of us... and it was terrific! Without a doubt the best carrot cake we'd ever had, so save a little room for their carrot cake if/when go. The most delicious fish I've had in a very long time. Broiled Grouper over sautéed spinach with sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. It was kissed with the most delicious lemon butter sauce that my mouth waters as I write this. The server was delightful and left us to browse the menu and she would left us to chat. She instructed that when we were ready to order we should collect the menus together and she would come by to take our orders. We were never rushed and were attended to promptly. The family style antipasto was delicious with shrimp, clams, mussels, stuffed mushrooms, eggplant rolatini, and fried zucchini strings. We went to Loucas with 4 people and we have been there before and it was good , but last night was not such a pleasant experience and after returning my chicken parmigiana because it was overcooked and the cheese was burnt I ordered Rack of Lamb which unfortunately I ordered medium and came out rare but it just didn't taste good but I felt bad to return another dinner so I bit the bullet I did NOT eat it , then we ordered dessert specifically 2 coconut cream pie which I love and one of my guests also and the waiter said it was homemade so I figured it must be good, well another mistake it was hard the cream .So we just asked for the check , and left but it was bothering me that I paid a pretty penny and didn't even eat with my guests ,there meals were fine , so I called today and i asked to speak to the boss and a lady answered and she wanted to know the story so I told her and after holding for over 18 minutes, on the other phone i called and the manager on duty last night answered and he happened to take my chicken parm back , so after all is said and done he told me that I'll put your name on the computer and next time you come in we will give you free dessert, we'll keep your free dessert sir , i don't need it and there won't be a next time and as a caveat we drove 45 minutes to have dinner there !!And I see now why in looking at reviews they say there are new owners I don't know if that's true but if it is now i know why because going there before it was always good . read more

You start off in East Brunswick and everybody moves to their different pockets of the garden state except for JB because he knew that years later he'd have the optimal commute for crew steak meet up twice a year. An hour and change and you can sit down at LouCas for legit fine dining, meats, seafood , homemade Greek desserts and top shelf customer service thanks to Alyssa. This place is a 5/5 maybe a 6/5. I don't care about the flimsy menu it's about the words on the menu that count and what gets brought to the table when you say those words. For the quality of the cuisine you get the price makes sense. Actually a good deal for all of it. Alright see the pictures that includes one of LouCas's greatest orders of all time on the bill. I have been coming here with my family for years. I typically try something new every time I come here and I'm usually not disappointed. The one dish I will probably not get again is the calamari as I found out a bit rubbery. Everything else was very good and our server was super helpful when we were placing orders. I attended a birthday dinner in a private room at LouCas. The food was wonderful! The overall portion sizes for the group appetizers was generous. We tried everything from Calamari to mussels, to stuffed mushrooms. There were also antipasto platters. There was enough food to feed any army, beyond the 20 of us in attendance. Everything was delicious. For my entree, I had the Chicken Francese, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely more than I could eat after devouring all those appetizers. Half my dinner went home with me and heated up wonderfully as leftovers. Others in my group ordered the Grilled Salmon as well as the Shrimp Scampi. Everyone enjoyed their food. There were 3 options for dessert (cheese cake, chocolate cake and an ice cream cake). I opted for the Chocolate cake, which was just fine. The overall service was fine and the manager stopped by a few times to check on us. Our private server, although efficient, could have been a bit more personable. My in laws made a reservation for Mother's Day and at the time of booking they took a $100 deposit but did not inform them that they would only have a 4 course price fixed menu available. We arrived on time and had to wait over an hour to be seated because they were so backed up and not able to enforce the 2 hour table maximum. When we did finally get seated we were presented with the price fixed menu and told no substitutions and no ability to order off the normal menu. The cheapest option was $45 (for an entree that was pasta and sauce without any protein) and children's meals were between $18-32. Prices were offensively high which I wouldn't have been so annoyed by except it wasn't disclosed at the time of booking for us to make an informed choice and they took a deposit so if we had left after waiting an hour and finally seeing the menus we would have been out $100. Menu was also inaccurate as it said all entrees came with potatoes and vegetables and most of ours didn't (anything pasta or risotto was apparently excluded per the waiter). The food wasn't terrible but we didn't need (or want) 4 courses so we felt we severely overpaid. It took 2.5 hours from when we were finally sat down and paid. They also charge a 3% transaction fee to pay using a credit card. Restaurant was loud and over crowded, not an enjoyable dinner and we will not be returning. read more

The food was really yummy butttttt I ordered a fried calamari as an appetizer and as I ate I bit into a chunk of something Being a pescatarian I am very grossed out when I bite into bone/cartilage. Even when I ate meat I would get boneless wings. And this being a dish I get often I did not expect it either. But it happened and when I asked the manager he said it was cartridge and it happens one in a while when it's not cleaned out properly. Like what you don't clean your food properly!?!?? But also like is that the best you can do for me? While the main entrees were delicious. The steak came with salad and my boyfriend had ordered Italian and got balsamic. My wife had talked about Lucas for a long time before we had tried there, we are both big fans of seafood and for an anniversary dinner we decided to go there. We made reservations prior, which i would recommend, and we're seated fairly promptly after our reservation time. The restaurant is a decent size, and they have ample parking in a pretty big shared parking lot. The inside is definitely fancy. Personally, I think the most stress down I would be here would be khakis in a button down, the last time we came I wore dress, slacks a button down and a cardigan sweater. But you make your choices. I once saw someone in a t-shirt and shorts at a black tie optional event and they really took that optional liberally, don't be that guy. As for the food, it is amazingly good. I have not had something I did not like from here. The last time we came we ordered the tomahawk steak with lobster tails and a few other seafood options on a platter. It was a ton of food and even though it was a meal for two people, and we still took a bunch of it home. If you have a special occasion or just want to go out for a very nice dinner, this is definitely a place to check out. First time dining here on recommendation of friends. Dined on Saturday night which typically sees crowds and this was no exception. However we were shown to our table promptly and although many tables were filled there was no signs of chaos and the noise level was maybe a "2" on a scale of 1-5 ( noisiest). We and our two friends shared apps- shoe string zucchini fries & fried calamari with mango sauce- I'd give both an A+! Zucchini was crisp and tasty and the calamari was tender with a subtly sweet mango sauce. BTW- the rolls served at the table were delish & that's a tell-tale sign that the rest of the food should be great. The entrees of branzino , chicken parm, clams casino & roasted pear salad were judged by all to be top notch, shared desserts of ice cream cake and dark chocolate mousse cake also hit the spot, Finally, the cappuccino was prob close to the best ever- the foam was creamy & thick!! Went for my 55th birthday with a party of 11 originally supposed to be 14. Reservation was for 8pm and we were on time even though we were hit with a snow storm. Everyone came from different locations. This was centrally located for us. Anyway been here before a couple of times Food is great but this time didn't like the fact they they were rushing us out. Asked for water 3 times and never got it. Also felt a little petty of them to charge $2.75 per person to cut cake that we would have cut ourselves at the table.
