Ordered to go Broiled crab cakes in lemon butter white wine sauce- it was delicious 2 pieces of lump crab cakes. Warmed it up and ate the other one the next day. It was still yummy! Rigatoni grilled Italian sausage, broccoli rave ,sundried tomatoes, in roasted garlic and olive oil. Also a winner! Has right proportion of ingredients to the pasta. Taste more homemade. Not too oily. They probably use small Amy of oil. I prefer more garlicky and more fruity evoo which I didn't taste here. read more

Was in the area for work the past week and we ordered take out from this restaurant multiple times if that gives you any indication of how good this place is. Lunch orders come with baguette type bread. Now for various lunch entrees: Mushroom ravioli: comes with asparagus pieces and a heavy cream sauce (was good to eat with the bread). The ravioli filling was super savory and the ravioli itself was cooked perfectly. I personally would have liked a touch of truffle oil but it was good as is. Portion doesn't seem big but it's a heavy dish so quantity is filling. Stracciatella (Italian egg drop soup): so delicious. I didn't even know there was such a thing as an Italian egg drop soup. Perfect for colder days. Packed with flavor yet light enough to have with a lunch meal. I wish I heard of this sooner, it's such an interesting comfort food - I will definitely be trying to make this at home. Potato gnocchi: best gnocchi I've ever had. I never order gnocchi because I apparently have had terrible gnocchi if this is what it's supposed to taste like. They are like clouds that melt in your mouth. Their red sauce is perfect as well. I asked for added veggies like eggplant and zucchini but I would advise against that and just get the classic dish. Pappardelle with mushrooms in red sauce and melted mozzarella: I asked for this specifically (off-menu). It was phenomenal. Pasta was cooked perfectly, again the red sauce is to die for, and the mushrooms and mozzarella were super fresh. In general, all their pastas are made from scratch + perfectly cooked, and it seems they can do combinations of pasta, sauce, meat/veggies upon request if you don't see what you want on the menu. read more

Came for an event in their new private room. The room is fresh and simple and big for a large amount of people. The owner Bruno greeted everyone and opened all the wine we brought. The service was great minus it taking a while for the entrees to come out, but with such a new private event set up, the kinks are expected. The appetizers were amazing. Bruschetta, calamari, eggplant, stuffed mushrooms and salads were all great. I got the salmon from the catering choices and although it wasn't the best I've had it was pretty good. I went here for Valentine's Day with my parents. We made reservations for 7:15 and it was absolutely packed. We were seated fairly quickly but didn't get our food until around 8. They served us bread (rosemary and regular) along with a side of bruschetta with white beans. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and the seafood linguini. The alfredo was super thick and creamy but was a bit bland. However, the linguini was flavorful and had fresh seafood. read more

Wanted to like this place, but my meal was inedible. Crab cakes are big round balls that came literally raw on the inside. The outsides were barely even cooked. I sent them back to the kitchen to cook them more and they came back to the table just the same - raw-uncooked dough inside, really mushy and cold. I figured I'd just fish around and eat out the crab- hardly any. These two balls were all that was on my plate ...so I had this smear of goopy white stuff I was trying to pick thru without any luck. Caesar salad way overdressed and tasted fishy. Didn't eat that either. The bread on the table was heated too much or left out - not sure- but it was like a crouton. Desperate to eat something, just slapped some butter on the hard bread and drank a lot of water. The waiters didn't seem to care that the plates of food were not eaten - they just cleared them away without a word. I don't know. Maybe their other dishes are good - but I'd warn against getting the crab cakes - really terrible. read more

Located in a strip mall it is unfortunately not something stands out very much. In other words, unless you know it is here you would probably pass over it. My first impression is that it is an unexpected find and our first experience with the food was good. I had the Large Diver Sea Scallops And Shrimp and was pleased with the meal and would need to go back again to get a better feel for the place. The one thing that did stand out, however, was going on what seemed to be a relatively sleepy night but then have two very large groups come in after us. They apologized for the service due to the groups but frankly I do not think they missed much of a beat if any. We were certainly not forgotten in the hustle and our food did not seem delayed at all. NOT BAD, but I can't justify the 4.5 star rating posted here on Yelp. Here's my take. Nice place inside considering it's in a strip mall. Very friendly staff, with excellent service. We made reservations, and got seated immediately upon arrival in a very nice booth with high walls. Bruno, the owner, introduced himself with a very charming, warm, smile. Very nice man. It's BYOB, so the staff opened our wine, and immediately poured all of our drinks, including water, and then gave us a free appetizer of bruscetta with beans, tomato, garlic, olive oil, etc. Very tasty. We started with raw oysters on the half shell. Small, but VERY fresh, and very delicious. Then we got the antipasto. Again, very fresh, and tasty, and a fair portion size. Then we ordered the following: EGGPLANT ROLLATINE MUSSELS PENNE FREE RANGE CHICKEN BREAST ATLANTIC SALMON LARGE DIVER SEA SCALLOPS AND SHRIMP All the dishes were good, to very good. The only criticism I would mention would be that the Salmon was slightly over cooked, as were the scallops and shrimp. And the risotto tasted more like plain rice than it did risotto as it was super al dente and NOT very creamy. I think the PENNE was probably the best dish of the night. Good portion size, and very well executed, although none of the food was served piping hot. It was as if it was sitting under the heat lamps, or at the pass a bit too long. Lastly, the portion sizes for the price was a tad small compared to so many other places I've been to of the same, or better quality. All in all, it was still pretty good, and I would go back and give it another try next time I'm in the area. read more

Stumbled into this place since my daughter wanted some pizza which was located right next door. It is located in a strip mall in Warren near Acme. I wanted to have some great seafood and they delivered! Had some bruschetta and bread for starters. I'm a big calamari fan and the Cajun calamari was amazing!!! I will come back just for that! Tilapia with some crabmeat and chocolate dessert with ice cream topped it off. Wonderful staff and service!! Seems like most of the people that came were regulars. My now husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at Bruno's Bistro and we are so glad we did! We chose one of their party menus and felt that we got a lot of food for a reasonable price. Both of our families raved about the food; my mom thinks their penne vodka is the best she's ever had and my husband and I feel the same way about their chicken marsala! Even though we didn't have a very large group, Bruno's still let us have their second dining room to ourselves which was really nice. It was a wonderful evening and I highly recommend Bruno's Bistro to any couple in the area looking for a restaurant to host their rehearsal dinner. read more

I was really, really surprised to find out that this place sucks (at least from my experience). My girlfriend and I went for dinner on a Tuesday night. The place was completely empty. Strangely, the waiter (or host?) never offered to take our drink orders. We were also surprised to find that the menu was pretty expensive, but since we regularly eat Italian food out, we knew it could definitely prove to be worth it and decided to give it a shot. Have to say, the soup and bread were good. Not great, and they didn't offer cheese for the soup (Italian faux pas), but definitely good. But, the entrees... the entrees were extremely disappointing. Off hand, I don't remember exactly what we got, but I had some sort of tomato sauce with eggplant and zucchini over penne and she had stuffed chicken in a mushroom sauce. Mine was small, greasy, and easily could be made at home with a few ingredients and an hour to burn. Plus, the eggplant wasn't soaked when they prepared it, easily marked by the bitter taste in each piece. Her's was dry and and dense, will little substance. The vegetables they were served with were under cooked and soaked with oil. On top of that, after getting leftovers wrapped up (still trying to save face, I supposed, from my lackluster restaurant choice), it took the waiter (or host... was never quite sure) over 40 minutes to bring the check. The same waiter/host that never checked up on us or offered us drinks. So, yeah. Sadly, I won't be returning. We suggest you don't either... and it pains me to have to say that. read more

This is an amazing local restaurant that is always consistent and delicious. We are regulars and look forward to our dinners there. Tables set up outside during Covid are comfortable and at a proper distance. You are shielded from the rain by the building overhang, not a makeshift tent. Highly recommended. read more

Bruno's is just an average Italian restaurant in an area packed with exceptional Italian restaurants. It is located in the pheasant Run Plaza shopping center. There is plenty of parking in the lot. The dining room is comfortable with tables and large booths. A company Holiday party was in progress and didn't really disturb other diners. Bruno's is BYOB and we did. They opened our wine and poured it into an average glass. They served us some very average bruschetta on toast along with some average bread and water. I had the veal scallopini Milanese which was pounded so thin that all I could taste was the breading and the bland salad which smothered it. I don't recall what my wife had. It was so average I can't remember. I can't recommend Bruno's Bistro unless you are looking for average Italian. I prefer exceptional. read more

The food is much better than average and very affordable. Bruno's is a hidden gem. The complimentary bruschetta is delicious AND you get a complimentary loaf of bread. We ordered the spicy calamari. It was cooked well and had a tangy spicy flavor. I think I'd stick to plain calamari next time. My salmon meal was cooked perfectly and flavorful. My brother ordered the ricotta gnocchi. The gnocchi were sumptuous- like the inside of an incredibly good ravioli. Food servings are just right- plenty to eat, but you can take some home if you are on a diet. Everyone in my party of 5 loved their food. We were too stuffed to choose anything from the dessert platter. Its BYOB. The staff are quick to open bottles and serve. My NJ family had been there once before and loved it. Brunos in a great place and I am looking forward to going back next time I visit NJ. read more

We discovered Bruno's because we wanted to find a BYOB that has good food and that was close to home. We didn't expect this place to be in a strip mall. Seating is limited so it's best to make reservations. Their staff are very welcoming and accommodating. We have been there numerous times with friends and as a couple and have always had a great experience. If you like calamari, you'll love the Cajun Calamari as a starter. It's a nice balance of savory and sweet with the calamari cooked to perfection. The Eggplant Rollantine is very good too. Every meal has always been fabulous. How else to end a great meal but with great desserts? I never have room so I end up taking it home. Order the cannoli. You've never had cannoli like this before. The shell is formed out of slivered almonds coated in honey, the ends dipped in chocolate then filled with their cannoli filling. Drool. read more

Bruno's is a great BYOB located in the Warren A&P strip mall. Note that google maps is not accurate, it sends you on a street behind the strip mall. Its a relaxed Italian restaurant that has many terrific, reasonably priced items on the menu. I've never had anything that I didn't think was very good to great. The staff has always been very friendly and makes you feel like one of the family. There is a small waiting area, and I mean small, so expect to stand when the place is busy and you are waiting for a table. They take reservations. The place gets busy on Friday nights and weekends, so its best to make one. They have both booth and table seating, and offer takeout. Its a great option in Warren for a good meal at reasonable price. read more
