Potato gnocchi with eggplant and zucchini
    Heena D.

Was in the area for work the past week and we ordered take out from this restaurant multiple times if that gives you any indication of how good this place is. Lunch orders come with baguette type bread. Now for various lunch entrees: Mushroom ravioli: comes with asparagus pieces and a heavy cream sauce (was good to eat with the bread). The ravioli filling was super savory and the ravioli itself was cooked perfectly. I personally would have liked a touch of truffle oil but it was good as is. Portion doesn't seem big but it's a heavy dish so quantity is filling. Stracciatella (Italian egg drop soup): so delicious. I didn't even know there was such a thing as an Italian egg drop soup. Perfect for colder days. Packed with flavor yet light enough to have with a lunch meal. I wish I heard of this sooner, it's such an interesting comfort food - I will definitely be trying to make this at home. Potato gnocchi: best gnocchi I've ever had. I never order gnocchi because I apparently have had terrible gnocchi if this is what it's supposed to taste like. They are like clouds that melt in your mouth. Their red sauce is perfect as well. I asked for added veggies like eggplant and zucchini but I would advise against that and just get the classic dish. Pappardelle with mushrooms in red sauce and melted mozzarella: I asked for this specifically (off-menu). It was phenomenal. Pasta was cooked perfectly, again the red sauce is to die for, and the mushrooms and mozzarella were super fresh. In general, all their pastas are made from scratch + perfectly cooked, and it seems they can do combinations of pasta, sauce, meat/veggies upon request if you don't see what you want on the menu.

Amazing food and service. The service was well placed and not rushed. My wife and I enjoyed a great evening. My Bolognese was the best I have had in years. No cheap but worth it. Excellent Cappuccinos and my crème brûlée was delicious. We will be back.

This place is always incredible!! Food is out of this world and you're always treated as if you're part of the family here! Came here for lunch (they've added outdoor dining!!) and I can't say enough good things! The added trees make this feel very private and like an outside bistro! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Family style event in a new private room!

Came for an event in their new private room. The room is fresh and simple and big for a large amount of people. The owner Bruno greeted everyone and opened all the wine we brought. The service was great minus it taking a while for the entrees to come out, but with such a new private event set up, the kinks are expected. The appetizers were amazing. Bruschetta, calamari, eggplant, stuffed mushrooms and salads were all great. I got the salmon from the catering choices and although it wasn't the best I've had it was pretty good. The other meat options did look and smell good and out party seemed to enjoy. Over all a good first experience in this restaurant.

I went here for Valentine's Day with my parents. We made reservations for 7:15 and it was absolutely packed. We were seated fairly quickly but didn't get our food until around 8. They served us bread (rosemary and regular) along with a side of bruschetta with white beans. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and the seafood linguini. The alfredo was super thick and creamy but was a bit bland. However, the linguini was flavorful and had fresh seafood.

NOT BAD, but I can't justify the 4.5 star rating posted here on Yelp. Here's my take. Nice place inside considering it's in a strip mall. Very friendly staff, with excellent service. We made reservations, and got seated immediately upon arrival in a very nice booth with high walls. Bruno, the owner, introduced himself with a very charming, warm, smile. Very nice man. It's BYOB, so the staff opened our wine, and immediately poured all of our drinks, including water, and then gave us a free appetizer of bruscetta with beans, tomato, garlic, olive oil, etc. Very tasty. We started with raw oysters on the half shell. Small, but VERY fresh, and very delicious. Then we got the antipasto. Again, very fresh, and tasty, and a fair portion size. Then we ordered the following: EGGPLANT ROLLATINE MUSSELS PENNE FREE RANGE CHICKEN BREAST ATLANTIC SALMON LARGE DIVER SEA SCALLOPS AND SHRIMP All the dishes were good, to very good. The only criticism I would mention would be that the Salmon was slightly over cooked, as were the scallops and shrimp. And the risotto tasted more like plain rice than it did risotto as it was super al dente and NOT very creamy. I think the PENNE was probably the best dish of the night. Good portion size, and very well executed, although none of the food was served piping hot. It was as if it was sitting under the heat lamps, or at the pass a bit too long. Lastly, the portion sizes for the price was a tad small compared to so many other places I've been to of the same, or better quality. All in all, it was still pretty good, and I would go back and give it another try next time I'm in the area.

The ambiance is actually very nice, especially for a restaurant hidden behind a strip mall. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the night. When we arrived, no one was at the host stand. After waiting a few minutes, someone who appeared to be a runner or assistant eventually approached us. We had a reservation and were offered a high-top; when we asked for a regular table, it felt like a reluctant accommodation. We were brought bread, butter, olives, and an eggplant caponata that was extremely oily. We booked through OpenTable because we had an $80 reward card, and the restaurant loudly advertises a prix fixe menu on its website. Oddly, we were never offered the prix fixe menu, and we noticed no other diners were either. It felt intentionally hidden. When we asked for it, the waiter (Hector) seemed visibly annoyed. We ordered eggplant rollatini and shrimp appetizers, and the angry chicken parm as the entrée. If you order off the prix fixe menu, expect noticeably smaller portions. Two pieces of eggplant rollatini instead of three, about a third of the usual shrimp portion, a tiny piece of chicken parm, and a small cannoli. At $55 per person, that feels excessive. The chicken parm was thin, burnt, and came out slightly cold. Easily a 2/5. They also charge for soda refills, which genuinely surprised me. I dine out frequently and almost never see that anymore. When the bill came, we tried to use the OpenTable reward card and were told the waiter had never seen one before. There was supposedly no manager on duty, and we were told the card couldn't be accepted and that we had to put the full amount on a credit card instead. Between the unfocused service, the awkward handling of the prix fixe menu, and food that didn't come close to justifying the price, this was not a good experience. I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it, which is unfortunate given the hype.

Located on the back side of a strip mall in Warren . Such a beautiful ambiance definitely a good date night spot . They have a full bar and plenty of seating . We went on a Wednesday night around 5:30 and it wasn't too busy at the time but by the time we left they were almost a full house . The staff were super friendly and attentive. The menu has plenty of delicious choices and they offer specials as well. I'm all about the appetizers so me and my eldest daughter ordered several to share as our meal . We had the artichoke salad ( fell a little short in the flavor department could have probably used a balsamic glaze to elevate the flavor ) but the special truffle lunetta OMG so good petite raviolis and truffle butter cream sauce . We also ordered the seafood tower for 2 which was served with raw oysters and clams and jumbo shrimp and chunks of crab meat . We also tried the grilled octopus specials served with fingerling potatoes. My husband tried the pork chop which was about 2 inches thick and cooked to perfection tender and had great flavor. My youngest ordered the tagliatelle pasta which was cooked slightly al dente and served in a tomato cream sauce it was delicious . Our meal was simply delicious and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I will definitely come back to try some of those other delicious sounding dishes . They are celebrating their 15 year anniversary! Cheers to many more !

Lupa is located in a section of Berkely Heights that has seen a lot of recent construction, so it is very pretty and clean. You couldn't be blamed if you bypassed the restaurant. It is not very flashy looking and that is part of its charm. Be warned, there are not a lot of parking spaces behind the restaurant so you may wind up parking in the bank parking lot next to it (when the bank is closed of course). The staff at Lupa is super friendly and treats you like a regular even if this is your first time. The host was super nice, the waitress fantastic and the chef even came to our table to talk to us when we were done eating! The interior is very clean and modern looking. It's elegant and perfect for virtually any event including dates, anniversaries and family get togethers. We wound up sitting in the same area as the bar, which mostly has 2-4 seater tables and of course you can sit at the bar as well. The other side of the restaurant is where the larger tables are located. Here's a rundown of what we had: CLAMS ON TOAST Baby clams. crispy ham. thyme When I ordered this, I expected to see slices of toast with crispy ham and baby clams on top. Instead, it is two large pieces of wonderfully toasted bread with crispy ham on top. The actual clams sit in a *delicious* broth. Taken altogether these various components form a delicious bite. Be sure to dip that bread into the broth! SQUID INK SPAGHETTI lobster knuckles and claws. broccoli florets. grape tomatoes. Sherry Cream Sauce This dish has a wonderfully deep and earthy flavor. I've had squid ink pasta before and this was a wonderful example of it. The sauce was perfect and it was cooked beautifully. HANGER STEAK Truffled pomme frites. Chimichurri The steak was beautifully cooked (we had it medium rare) and the chimichurri sauce was great. However, the steak needed a bit more salt (and I'm not usually one to add salt to food). The pomme frites were wonderfully crispy and tasty. BROCCOLI RABE lemon. Kilos Broccoli rabe is a simple side dish but it is one of my favorites. It is also one that can easily be overcooked. These folks cooked it perfectly and it made for a fantastic side dish. My party and I loved our experience at Lupa and we all agreed we would happily return any time!
