I have been eating here every Friday for lunch for about 10 years. The pizza is very good and the prices are right too! Sometimes they have a fun variety of slices to offer during lunch time. I wish they would offer more of those pinwheel things besides pepperoni or chicken parm. The ambiance hasn't changed in a while and the chalk wall is a bit annoying as it gets all over your clothes, especially during coat seasons. The staff is wonderful and friendly! read more

I won a gift certificate in a local raffle for Rocco's, so I decided to order a few things off of the menu for my family and I to try. I placed an order for pickup and it was hot and ready in less than 20 minutes. I ordered a large plain pie, a chicken caesar wrap (comes with fries), and an order of chicken tenders and french fries. The pizza was enjoyable but not my favorite of all time (classically thin, not too much cheese, and a plain tomato sauce). I would've preferred a slightly sweeter sauce and more cheese on top (see photo). The chicken Caesar wrap was DELICIOUS. The chicken could've been more seasoned, but it was still great. The wrap was filled with chicken and a good amount of dressing, and it came out nice and hot. I was also able to taste Parmesan so the flavor was definitely to my liking. The fries were good too (long and crispy). My kids enjoyed the chicken tenders (my teenager said they're your average chicken tenders for a local pizza spot). Also, when I was taking the food to go, a staff member (Adrian) was kind enough to carry my order to my car for me. All in all it was a good experience and I'd call it a solid pizza spot. read more

The reviews encouraged me to give Rocco's a try and I was very happy I did. I could tell from the look and smell when the pizza came out it was gonna be good. It was delicious. It was simply one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Pizza is simple. People overcomplicate it. It was crispy, delicious and foldable. A Must! It's good pizza the way we all like it. Simple. And the owner, Steve treated me, my wife & daughter like family. It was one of the nicest evenings we had during our visit to Avenel - where I'm originally from - and we usually can't wait to get back to Florida. When we come back to Jersey, the first place we're going is Rocco's. So yea, you should go there too. read more

I'm not from this area and was wanting pizza at about 9:30 PM. Checked local Yelp reviews and saw Roccos. It was well reviewed, and I decided to give it a try. Called, answered promptly, was helpful answering a few questions I had and I ordered a 14" pepperoni, sausage, extra sauce. I arrived about 20 minutes later, before closing, and I really liked that this was a neighborhood shop. When I went in, the staff (who seemed to be family, as far as I could tell), was welcoming and that was nice as well. I asked for some red pepper flakes, and they were happy to oblige. As a twenty something kid rang me out, what seemed to be the owner (I really don't know), asked me if I wanted some plates to go as well. The owner kind of punched me in the arm in a friendly way, and said, hey anything else we can do for ya? I said, yes, do you have a fork and a knife? He said, "I'll give you some real ones if you bring them back!" That was funny! Fact is, the pizza was so good, I'd definitely bring them back, but I probably wouldn't get them through security at the airport. I only was there for a few minutes, but if this is how they treat their customers, they must be really successful and run a great business. Other places could learn a lot from Rocco's. Oh yeah - the PIZZA! It was amazing. Sweet sausage, pepperoni and just a little extra sauce, just how I like it. NY Style (can I say that in NJ??). Five stars gents. Thanks for everything. They have pineapple pizza, so that's a win. My daughter likes thin crust so that's a win and her book and my husband will eat anything that doesn't eat him first. I currently live in Avenel and have tried every pizza spot in the area. I always find myself comparing a new place to Rocco's and wondering why I didn't just go to Rocco's in the first place. This isn't your Instagram-bullshit pizza place - this is regular, thin crust, crispy yet chewy, Jersey pizza. The prices are great and the food is always consistently good. I don't usually like reviewing places for service, because restaurants SHOULD be about the food and the food alone, but the Rocco's staff are such lovely people. They don't give you that fake "flight attendant" friendliness. I felt special because the workers remembered me, but they really do remember and know most of their customers, as the locals choose Rocco's over all the other pizza spots in the area. What really set this place apart is when my boyfriend and I placed an order for pickup and he had forgotten one of the items in our order. Before we even discovered anything was missing, we heard a knock on our door, and standing there was one of Rocco's staff with our missing item. They could've called and told my boyfriend to go back, but they took the initiative and delivered it to us, even when it was my boyfriends fault (not theirs)! I'm moving to Philadelphia in February. Yum. You really have to wow me to get a 5 star review but this is one of those small establishments that surprisingly won me over. We saw that Rocco's was listed in a top pizzeria list on NJ.com and decided to give it a shot. A regular meat lovers pie and an order of garlic knots later and I'm in love. The pizza is thin crust with plenty of toppings and all of the flavors just melted together perfectly. The garlic knots are up there with the best I've ever had. Been ordering from Rocco's since probably October 2021 at lunchtime from an office nearby. Usually a couple of us order together for delivery to us. In the beginning, we received perfect food, perfect customer service and friendly delivery staff. Recently, we noticed the food isn't quite as good, the customer service is severely lacking and the only consistent thing is their delivery staff. Have to find another lunch spot now to order from. We spend a lot of money at this place and have even recommended them to drivers picking up here that have long wait times and other staff members that we work with.... not anymore. I'd be mortified if I recommended a place and it turns out to be the worst lunch ever and that's exactly how it's been. Tried letting the owner know, he said they will work on, still not good...gave several chances and today was the last. Not spending hard earned money there anymore!!! read more

I ordered a personal size Hawaiian pizza with garlic knots for pick up and I gotta say everything was deeeeelicious! Personal size can feed two if you're not super hungry in my opinion. I would recommend this pizza place! And I'll definitely be back! read more
