So we came with low expectations, but left with a satisfied experience. I love thin crust pizza, and Angelina's nailed it with their dough making. All the bread was delicious. The gelatos were so fresh and creamy. What gives them a 5 star for us: all the drinks were excellent (love their Negronis) and the dishes were well seasoned. Meh, lovely decor, mediocre food, and overwhelmed staff about sums up my Monday dinner experience here. Initially, wood fired pizza was my draw here and the server mentioned that 12" sizes are available despite not listed on the menu. Thankfully, another server saw me waiting and waiting to place my order. Only 2 servers and the place was surprisingly busy so service was lacking in addition to the disappointing execution of my meal. I played it safe, I thought, and ordered the mixed veggie salad with salmon. The salad was a pathetic array of about 6 Boston lettuce leaves and then an inordinate amount of sloppily sliced red onions, way too many capers, and drowned in a tasteless vinegarette all served on a huge platter. You can tell a lot of effort went into creating a really nice dining experience, and I believe they have multiple locations, which made me excited to try it. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. My family originally went expecting brunch, but they don't offer it, which was a bit disappointing from the start. I'm not typically a fan of Italian food, but I came in with an open mind hoping this place might change that. We ordered a variety of pizzas, Sicilian, Bee Sting, NY Style, Buffalo Chicken, and Casterina. The Buffalo Chicken was the standout, but overall, the pizzas lacked flavor. The sauce especially seemed to be missing something, and the NY-style pizza didn't really resemble what you'd expect from a true New York slice. The Bee Sting was also soggy, which took away from the experience. We also tried the calamari appetizer, which was overcooked and under-seasoned. One of my family members ordered a pasta dish, but unfortunately didn't enjoy it and barely ate it. It was disappointing because the restaurant has so much potential--the service is great and the atmosphere is amazing, but the food just didn't match that same level. Unfortunately I feel like they focus so much on the aesthetic that the actual food and service falls to the wayside. The menu felt a bit limited and everything we tried was just decent. There are plenty of options on the cocktail list. We had a hard time deciding but we all enjoyed what we got. The fragolina was not too sweet. My mom and I came to Angelina's Kitchen late on a Wednesday night after traveling and needing some delicious sustenance. They close at 10, we arrived at 9. You will get the bare minimum of service at some places when you come an hour before closing, but everyone we came across at Angelina's was friendly and attentive. We received service with a smile at every turn. The decor here is really soothing, modern but has an old school flair, lots of greenery (fake, but that's understandable and If you don't look too hard you can convince yourself otherwise). It reminds me of the style California has been doing for years but is comparatively new on the east coast. The food! Well, when the complimentary bread came out it looked so special I thought for sure it was our appetizer. The bread was good, like a foccacia type, but wasn't very flavorful. It's served with a little ball of ricotta but again, a bit bland. I would have preferred some salted butter or seasoned olive oil to put on it, but hey, it's complimentary so they can do whatever they want and I'll eat it! Our actual appetizer was the Montanara Frita- which is basically a fried ball of dough with prosciutto, and stracciatella cheese melted over top with a drizzle of honey... this was like a carnival! The fried dough and slight sweetness reminiscent of a zeppole but then you had the savory elements... it sounds strange but I promise you it's magnificent. The pasta is homemade and you can tell- it's the perfect texture. I ordered the Busiata Norma I love a good Norma pasta (red sauce with roasted eggplant) and it did not disappoint. Mom got pollo caprese a nice simple dish of pan fried chicken cutlets, fresh cherry tomatoes and burrata. They achieved the ultimate crispness with this chicken and it was seasoned to perfection. The burrata ball that came with the dish was on the smaller side, so a little less creamy than expected. Overall we really enjoyed our meals and thought it was well run. I know a lot can change from day to night. I wonder if some of the more negative reviews are for issues that are occurring during peak times that will be ironed out as the restaurant settles in. I also hear a lot of people saying it's pricey, but honestly you could tell when you are dining there that the food you are eating is top quality and much of it is handmade like the pasta and special doughs. Absolutely incredible dining experience from start to finish. I ordered the crispy chicken cutlet topped with creamy burrata and sweet fresh cherry tomatoes, every bite was perfection. My fiancé had the burrata ravioli, which was rich, flavorful, and equally amazing. The Caesar salad? Hands down one of the freshest, most delicious Caesar salads I've ever had. We also started with the eggplant appetizer, and I have to mention the bread because WOW, so fresh and addictive. I almost never order dessert, but the crème brûlée completely won me over. Drinks were just as impressive, a Bellini for me, an Old Fashioned for my fiancé, and we wrapped up the evening with espresso and an espresso martini. Truly such a memorable dinner. Everyone there was very friendly and inviting. I chose to just have a small knish at the bar and I chose very well! Pedro recommended the peach martini, which were quite different, was very refreshing. An excellent summer cocktail! Then I chose to have a tuna tartare. I ordered their lobster special pasta that came with half lobster, mussels, clams, frozen shrimp, octopus and rubbery calamari. The tomato sauce it was cooked in was stinky. Even my mom noticed how stinky it smelled. Shrimp was unfortunately stinky and rubbery. The mussels were inedible as was the clams because it ended up stinking my tomato sauce. The sauce was a drop sweet just as I like it. Great mozzarella. Perfectly matched with the sauce. The crust was amazing.. All together the 4 varieties I tried, one was better than the other. Being a real pizza lover, I'm not offended by Neopolitan style pizza. Yes, it's different than NY pie which I grew up on, but it's still soooo delicious. The flop or no flop doesn't really matter, two different pies. I'll never turn either away. The minestrone soup was as good as the one I make at home. I don't think I even have to write a description to tell you how bad this was. The picture shows it all! To start, the "bee sting" was $30. I could tell when it was set on the table it was going to be a soupy mess. It was so wet that all the toppings slid right off revealing the undercooked crust underneath. I made a pitstop at this location because the name of the place is my daughter's name Angelina ....I was totally disappointed the fried calamari's were very stale, not fresh and extremely hard .... I told my bartender and she said she was extremely sorry that I wasn't gonna be charged and if I wanted to order something else ....so I gave them the benefit of the doubt of ordering the Italian steak sandwich which for $25 It was nothing special. I loved the layout of the restaurant, and the service was decent, but the quality of the food was a mixed bag. My appetizers were a bit cold when they should have been warmer, but my main course was prepared well with decent portions. For me, it's probably a decent after-hours hangout, but not a premium restaurant experience. For their prices, you can pay about the same amount at one of more upscale restaurants in the next town over. It's a new location, but has room for refinements and improvements. DOV: Sat 6/28/25 @ 5:30pm, My husband and I decided to give this new place a try since I recently purchased a $100 Angelina's gift card from Costco. Plenty of space available in the parking lot, and plenty of open tables, so we were seated immediately. The wine list contained in the menu was rather pricey, so I asked if they had a house bottle for purchase. They did bring over a bottle of their house Merlot, and the server poured me some to taste. It was undrinkable - I could immediately tell by the wine's temperature that it was too warm and that made the wine taste bad. There was NO way I would pay $44 for a bottle of warm and off tasting wine! The ones on the menu ranged from $62 up to $350. Wines by the glass range from $12 to $14. I was turned off by that too, so I just opted for an unsweetened iced tea and tap water. My husband indulged and had a glass of wine which he said was nothing spectacular. Bread was delivered to the table after about 15 min after we were seated. I was wondering if it was ever going to show up. It was odd too -- seemed like an irregularly shaped piece of naan or pita bread that was clay oven baked and then slathered with olive oil. And sitting on the bread board on the side in a small gravy boat style dish was a small lump of -- ricotta cheese?? Hmmm ... it was odd, but it was delicious, and I was starving, so they could have served me melted crayons and I would probably have raved over it too, LOL! My husband was expecting more seafood entrees to choose from, but he eventually landed on a swordfish dish. The size of the fish and 2 potato/asparagus spears was underwhelming, He felt the red sauce that the fish was swimming in was too salty! Not too surprising since there were olives mixed in and probably some capers as well. I opted for a pasta bolognese dish that had an exotic name of a pasta beginning with "b". It arrived in a mini skillet and was set on a very nice straw trivet (to protect the table from the high temperature). My immediate visual impression of the dish was that it was SPAGHETTI O's for adults but with much better flavor! I could barely finish the portion, so if you don't mind paying $26 for SPAGHETTI O's, then this dish is for you! I gave my husband the remaining quantity I couldn't finish. When we got home he thanked me for doing it because he was still hungry after he finished his plate. We took home dessert (4 mini cannoli for $12) but we're saving it for tomorrow. I can't wait to see what a $3 mini cannoli tastes like! As for our overall impression of the place, not what you would expect an Italian restaurant to look like. Went there hoping it would compare to their original Staten Island restaurant. Well it doesn't. Firstly, the acoustics are terrible. You need to scream across the table to be heard. Then, the waitstaff is not attentive. We had to ask 3 people for water refills. The appetizers were good. We were 5 people. 3 ordered pasta dishes and 2 ordered pizzas.
