I try my best to base my ratings on the category/class of restaurant. So for Christie's, marketed as a "steakhouse", I have to compare with other steakhouses. In this case, it was a difficult task deciding to give it 3 or 4 stars. I'll start off with the positive. The steaks (NY Strip and Fillet) we're both cooked perfectly to medium rare. They were seasoned well. The onion soup (which is one of my things) was real good. So they get a big check on the steak and onion soup. The staff was polite, but it seemed to be under staffed. There were very few people here, so if they got a surprise rush of diners, they would have been blown out. Christie's did not have a defined atmosphere, other than generic hotel restaurant. Not bad, but not what you expect for a steakhouse. The menu was limited and the sides that came with our steaks were mediocre. They did have a nice selection from a well presented dessert tray though. And this restaurant is pricey, it's on the low side for a steakhouse. So again, a mixed bag here which is why it was difficult to rate; but they did get the steaks right. So I will likely return as it is local for me, but I would not go out of my way to get here.

My brother and his family were supposed to be staying at this hotel while they were in town and that is how we ended up here. They weren't able to make it into town because of bad weather, but we still came here to eat. I like steak. I really like steak. I am not afraid to admit that. I'm more interested in knowing where my meat comes from now that I live in the Pacific Northwest, but I'm not to the point where I ask every establishment where they get their meat. Most places in Oregon tell you. Hasn't seemed to hit this part of the country although I'm guessing it has in New York City. I ordered the Stella Artois marinated rib eye. That was a 12oz rib eye steak marinated in beer (call me Captain Obvious), rosemary, Dijon mustard and garlic and grilled. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. I asked for it medium and it came out nice and medium. Plenty of food. A bit on the spendy side at $23.95, but the steak was very good, full of flavor and there was plenty of food on that plate. The dessert cart looked great as well. I went with the white chocolate cake. I wish I had a better description for it, but I can't really recall what it actually was. What I can recall is that it was very good and nicely presented. All the food was nicely presented. i can't say I would go out of my way to come here. I don't often hang out at hotels unless I'm traveling, but this place has been here for a while and good food is good food.

Good service. Okay location with parking lot (it's in the crown plaza hotel). We had shrimp and clams appetizer to start and we had herb salmon and steak frites. Overall food was good. Food took little time to get, but overall okay dinner experience. We went as Social Living customer. Price overall average to expensive side.

Meat was soft and delicious. The churro waffle was so fluffy and not too sweet. Perfect balance. Farmer's platter was good. My only note is they didn't add any butter to my toast, something I usually expect when I order breakfast plates. But since they charged me extra for ordering some garlic mayonnaise, I assumed they'd charge me if I asked for butter. Staff was attentive and kind, upsold us to the max. When we went, it was the last day of winter drink specials so not much was left to choose from though they do have bottomless hot coffee for a decent price and even offered to put fresh coffee in a to go cup as we were leaving! The food hit the spot. There are a lot of vegetarian options as well which is exciting. It is definitely on the pricier side for the portions though service was excellent.

I ordered the 4x2 -- four delicious pancakes paired with two perfectly cooked over-easy eggs. The pancakes were fluffy, buttery, and incredibly satisfying. We also tried the corned beef hash with eggs and mini pancakes, which was another winner. Everything came out hot, fresh, and generously portioned. A special shoutout to our server Monica, who made the experience even better. She was so friendly, attentive, and constantly stopping by to refill the Kona coffee -- one of my favorites ever since visiting Hawaii. Great service really makes a difference and Monica was fantastic. Highly recommended if you're looking for an amazing breakfast spot with great food, generous portions, and top-notch service. We asked for a non nut allergic option for some of the package offerings and they were happy to adjust it. No worries there. Interior is conducive for tea, conversations and quality time with loved ones. The house salad was a nice size and the fried onion topping added a flavorful crunch. I didn't care for the dressing though. Service was prompt and friendly, my water glass was never empty. Deducted a star as my cocktail, salad , and pizza all arrived at the same time which is a pet peeve. The server took the salad back but it was not refrigerated so she redelivery a room temp salad, blah. Sweet server just needs more training on timing. Or maybe that is the norm there. Next time, I will order 1 step at a time to avoid that issue. Private parking with an upper and lower area which was a bit confusing, will know for my next visit. Bread was so good that I purchased a loaf to bring home for my hubby in Atlanta!

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.
