Griot pizza
Ashley Victoria A.

I never noticed this was an actual restaurant until I was invited for a birthday brunch. I came a little late but was served as soon as the staff noticed. I ordered a French toast & joined the group with mimosas. The food didn't take long to come out & honestly, was alot better than I expected lol. I ate all of it tbh and would probably go back to brunch to try the other items on the menu as the party deemed it worth coming back for. The griot pizza is really the main star of this review! I noticed they were making pizzas while dining in & I asked Billy, one of the staff, how much were they as a whole & a slice. He told me they don't really sell them separately but he'll see what he can do. He came back with a personal pie & I was so excited & appreciative! By this point, I knew I was stuffed & couldn't fit much more in my stomach but I was determined to try it out. The first bite was so good, I ended up finishing my slice to really make my mind up on it. It was just the right amount of everything on the pizza & I really liked the crust too. I think it would definitely top the notch if it was also served with pikliz, a spicy Haitian relish, & had different options for meats. A beef & chicken option would go crazy! Especially if they offered personal pies. I told all my friends about this place so it'd definitely a must try. A special thank you to Billy for accommodating me!

Banging cheesecake waffles for brunch.

Loved it. Great ambiance. Greater food. Loved everything about. I had the most amazing cheesecake waffles and my mom had the flakiest croissant with bacon, egg and pepper jack. I will definitely be back if im in the area.

This place is newly opened & it was pretty good! I saw another yelper's review about parking out front & you needed to pay for parking. I asked the employees where I can pay, but they gave me a menu and said if I put it on the window, no one will give me a ticket. The service was good here. She was very kind and very attentive. We ordered an iced americano and hot chocolate. My sister who works at a cafe said this was a very good americano. The hot chocolate I had was also really good. I got regular milk with brown sugar on it. There are alternative options for milk for people who prefer other kinds. I ordered the chicken buttermilk waffles. It was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was having to deal with the bones in the chicken, but the seasoning was good & waffle was spongey. Overall, I would come back for sure. The owner was kind and had a conversation with us.

Waffle quad

The food is really good. I had the shrimp and grits- very flavorful. The grits alone were good and with the added seasoned shrimp made it a delicious dish. I also ordered the waffle quad (that has the cornbread waffle, red velvet, Oreo, and banana walnut). The presentation was nice and I'm happy I got to try a bit of each one. The cornbread and oreo were my fav. The ambiance is nice and very social media pic worthy. It was slow when I went (I was basically the only one there) and the waitress was nice. I'll be back. Parking can/will be an issue but that's on the city and not on the business since it's street parking. I would suggest making sure you have quarters on hand (a quarter gives you 10 mins and the meter has a 3 hour time limit) if you're at a self standing metered spot. The parking on Murray is paid off a parking machine so cards/cash should work there. I'll be back for sure!

Nothing grand about it.. They lied menu online is not even close to what they have Need to change the name to blah cafe

Shrimp and grits, chicken and waffle, wings, chicken panini

Perfect spot for brunch! We started off with a chocolate croissant and apple turnover pastry. My kids loved the chicken panini and chicken and waffle. My husband and I shared the wings and shrimp and grits. Everything was freshly made and flavorful. The best! Everyone there were super friendly too. We'll definitely come back to try their pizza and the rest of the paninis.

Went to Michelinos for an early dinner on a Saturday. I was thinking it would be a beat up old…read moreschool pizzeria, but it was actually a really nice restaurant. Our waiter took our drink orders, and brought us a complimentary basket of freshly made bread. It was really good. For appetizers, we got the hot antipasto for 2 as well as an order of calamari. My favorites from the hot antipasto were the eggplant rollatini and clams oreganata, but everything tasted great. For my entree, i got the Sicilian short rib, which was served with a wild mushroom risotto. The short rib was a huge portion for the price, an entire short rib. It was tender, well seasoned, and delicious. The mushroom risotto was very savory and rich. I would definitely order this again. I'd definitely return to this spot.

My boyfriend had never been here before and was like why haven't you haven't you taken me here before. LOL. We started with the sausage crostini which was practically a meal in itself and sooo good. I asked our server for his recommendation of the pork osso bucco or the scallops and he suggested the pork. My boyfriend had the stuffed sole and he loved it. My sangria was just as I remembered it, the best I ever had. Jerry, the owner who I haven't seen in years came around to make his rounds. It was so good to see him after all these years. Like I said, everything was great and the prices are nice. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back soon.

Girls' night after work led us to Doughboy Johnny's, and as a first-timer walking in, I genuinely…read morehad no idea what to expect. Spoiler: I left very happy (and with leftovers). Let's start with the only real challenge of the night: parking. Between regular White Plains parking adventures and the winter snow situation, it took a little patience. But once we got inside, the night immediately got better. The vibe is college-bar casual, but without the trashiness that sometimes comes with that territory. It's lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy a conversation. One thing I loved right away, there are games by the front entrance that you can grab and bring to your table. Drinks + games = instant girls' night upgrade. We were seated in the center near the kitchen, which actually gave us a great view of the whole place. Our drinks were really good, though if the bartender's hand had slipped just a tiny bit more on the pour, I wouldn't have complained. Still solid, still enjoyable. Now the food. Holy moly. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. And the portions? I'm not sure if they thought we were feeding an entire soccer team, but honestly... I support the ambition. I don't think I've ever seen mozzarella sticks that size before. I love leftovers and this place clearly believes in sending you home with some. Another thing I appreciated was seeing a whole section of vegan options on the menu. I didn't try them this time, but I love when a restaurant makes it easy for different diets to find something without turning ordering into a complicated group project. Between the fun atmosphere, great food, and generous portions, this was a great first experience. Next time I come back, I'll just plan ahead for parking... and maybe bring an even bigger appetite.
