Interesting experience. Stopped by here based upon Yelp reviews while getting our daughter moved in to A&M. Lunchtime in a Saturday and the place was empty. Not much staff in the place and they weren't overly friendly. The place felt like a museum, stuck in the past. We ordered and took a seat. While we were waiting, a few more tables came in, making it feel a little less creepy. The food didn't take long. Our buzzer buzzed and I went to the window to grab our orders. My expectations were not high. I was expecting no seasoning and not a lot of flavor - but the food was decent. Not great but definitely not bad. The fried shrimp were good, and my daughter loved her chicken fried chicken. And the chicken strips were really good. The prices were a little high for what you get, but that's the restaurant business these days. I just wish the place felt more alive. Not much personality with the staff so it doesn't feel very welcoming. But if someone suggested going back the next time we visit, I wouldn't argue. This would be a 3.5 if Yelp allowed half stars.

Chopped sirloin, with grilled onions and mushrooms, brown gravy, and my choice of side which was fried okra, along with Texas Toast.

Great food! Had the chopped sirloin today; it's one of my favorites there. It comes with brown gravy, and grilled onions and mushrooms. So flavorful! The side of fried okra is some of the best I've had anywhere. I just wish the entrees came with two sides, instead of one.

This is the cutest business. Friendly staff, GREAT FOOD and a great location!!!! The fish and shrimp were great! Pecan pie and banana pudding were both a great dessert.

The Feed Barn is a classic. The vibe inside is like you have stepped back in time. Places like this just don't exist much anymore. All the old decor on the walls and the locals. I love it. Ordered chicken fried steak and baked potato and okra. I will admit the chicken fried steak reminded me of an old cafeteria but still just makes you happy! Baked potato was cooked to perfection and the okra was definitely freshly breaded. The girls were super sweet at the counter. I would recommend stopping by!

    11 Oz Ribeye as served

Used to come here a lot when the prices were lower and food was better. Ordered the 11 Oz ribeye ($25) with baked potato and it iooked good on the platter but the amount of fat left was unacceptable for the price and it was pretty tasteless. Not like a ribeye is supposed to taste. The potato was ok and they have a good salad bar. But not at all worth the price I'm sorry to say.

    Country fried steak

This is a great little southern style restaurant hidden about 14 minutes away from college. I got the county fried steak, and it was pretty good, my only complaint is that it is no where near our texas size portions expected from a place like this. I would stick to the county steaks/sirloin or chicken fried chicken, and stay away from the burgers, those looked pretty basic. I would say the food was slightly better than a place like Texas Roadhouse, and you definitely get seats easier. The service was alright too, it's more of a service yourself style. I can't say I will definitely be back, as it's a bit overpriced for the portions and sides, but I think you should definitely try out the steaks.

I wasn't disappointed. The area is beautiful! The ambiance of the dining area is simple and tactfully decorated and the chairs, comfortable. Our sever was happy and upbeat and the managing owner checked in on us frequently to make sure that we were taken good care of. A sure sign that they care about their customers. There menu is interesting with a creative twist on breakfast/brunch fare. I had really good breakfast tacos with a small black bean side. To be honest, I am not a black bean fan but really enjoyed these! The home fries were also very satisfying. They also offered cornbread pancakes that were really something special. The manager said that it was their own take on pancakes and Johnny cakes. My whole crew enjoyed everything! The whole experience was really pleasant and plan to visit again next time I am in town. The restaurant was bustling with a lot of people who all seemed very happy. I thought the ambiance was great which has really left my with a positive impression of the place. Great job crew! I've only been here for drinks in mid-March so I can't comment on the food…read more Located in the Stella hotel, this is a spot that has the look of an elegant upscale spot. With that look comes upscale prices. You'd think the prices would match the experience but as with most hotel restaurants, they do not. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of food and drink options here and some deliver such as the Pine & Petal cocktail which is as pretty as it is tasty with the hibiscus, pineapple, mint and lime mixed with buffalo trace. And I enjoyed the Walt Blue Jay Pinot Noir which was a generous pour delivered. As for service, it's the definition of inconsistent. When I sat down, they greeted me within a couple minutes and poured my wine immediately and let me sip it in peace. So far so good. But when I finished, they approached and asked me if I'd like another drink which I replied about the Pine & Petal cocktail. They put it in and then the bartenders go to some other guests and chit chat about some contest they are setting up with the soda gun and building some paper boat to float down it with the person building the best paper boat getting a prize. I'm sitting there thinking are they gonna make my drink or do I have to remind them again? So they organize this contest with about 4-5 participants and then crown the winner. As they're celebrating, the bartender comes back and asks me what'd I'd like to order. I'm definitely a bit peeved since this was roughly 15 minutes after I had asked them to make the Pine & Petal cocktail. So mentioned that I ordered that cocktail a while ago. The bartenders realized their error and made the drink and decided not to charge me for it. While I appreciate the no charge, having the attentiveness to make the drink instead of focusing on the paper boat contest would've been more sufficient. Especially given the reviews commenting about customer service. Should I stay at the Stella again, I may venture here to try the other cocktails. But I'll probably just order one and be done with it.

We were BLOWN AWAY by the number of college students, dressed in their Sunday's best, openly praying over their food before enjoying some awesome chicken. It was SO NICE TO SEE! We ordered a family meal (20 pieces), 2 sides of fries and a chicken sandwich meal. We paid around $40. Great value! The food came out quick and arrived hot and fresh. I had a slight "issue" where I thought my chicken wasn't fully cooked and the manager reassured me that it was just breading but happily remade my sandwich to give me peace of mind. I REALLY appreciated that. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, literally leaving "not a fry left behind." The size of my chicken on the sandwich was HUGE- had to be hanging off the roll by 2" on each side! Staff were phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Love the laid back decor. Plenty of seating inside and some tables outdoors as well. Definitely recommend!

I chose the hottest seasoning they had--pretty sure it was ghost pepper--and yeah, it was spicy but didn't make me miserable. There was a lot of food, and it definitely filled us up. My wife got mac n cheese with hers and really enjoyed every bite. The cashier was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is great for a lunch or dinner date. Plus, they have large booths, which we really appreciate.

I was pretty delicious and juicy, but nothing spectacular about it. The portions are large for a very affordable price so that's a huge plus. Beefmaster fries wasn't that great, but the fried pickles were nice and crispy and very flavorful. The steak was pretty flavorful, but it was slightly overcooked so make sure you go 1 under on what you actually want. I wanted a perfect medium so I should've went medium rare, but instead I got medium well with some pieces well done. The avocado chicken breast had very little avocado, but as dry as the chicken breast looked, it was actually pretty juicy.
