My family and I had a very disappointing experience at Jake's Burgers in Waco, TX. We had spent the…read moreentire day at a football tournaments. Some parents who said they were acquaintances of the owners highly recommended we stop at Jake's for dinner. Because of that recommendation, our party of 8 chose to visit. When we walked in, no one was at the front to greet us or take our order. After a couple of minutes, an employee named Tommy came sashaying out from the back. He walked passed us with noticeable attitude, and said, "I'll get with you as soon as I can, but it's gonna be a minute just letting you know." His tone was rude and unprofessional. I responded very politely, "Well, good evening to you too," hoping to lighten the moment. My sister then told him he was being rude. As Tommy walked toward the counter area, he mumbled clearly enough for several of my family members to hear "Well, you can always go somewhere else." My sister, who is a high school coach, immediately said, "You know what, we'll do just that." As our family members walked out. I stayed behind to ask Tommy why he would say something like that. He denied it, even though my sister, my eight‑year‑old son, and my daughter all heard him. They repeated his words at the same time. I told him we came based on a recommendation from friends of the owners, and that this was ? extremely disappointing. I tried getting her attention multiple times, and it was very obvious that she knew I was there. When we finally got their attention, it took them forever to actually understand that they forgot some items and I wasn't trying to order more. When we finished eating, we needed to bag because we ordered a meal to-go, two managers sat there and talked while staring at me and it was very obvious I was waiting for help. It was a very frustrating experience, I would much rather visit any other location in Waco.
