Coffee and desserts are amazing!! The tiramisu is just perfect! Service is good and they are friendly. The shop is really nice and has lots of tables, you can also work from there and it is really chill.

The coffee smell really good and taste ok. The pastry is just ok. The place looks great but it seems to be an upscale coffee chain.

Smaller boutique style location as compared to the other 2 (Kerrisdale & downtown Vancouver) spots. Right in the same building as OPUS Hotel. Smaller selection of goodies & limited indoor seating but does have a few sidewalk seats. Please see my other Faubourg reviews for more info. Excellent location - should do well as this is a very high foot traffic area. I've been a fan of Faubourg since I first tried their pastries, at the first location on 41st Ave in Kerrisdale. If you're down & about in Yaletown soon, check out Faubourg. Viva la France.

My friend and I enjoyed our lunch and coffees here. It is a tiny cafe but cute, with Parisian touches throughout (elaborate chandeliers, Provence-esque tiles, etc). The guy behind the counter even reminded me of the folks I met when I traveled in France (i.e., he spoke French and was a bit stand-offish. lol). The display cases were amazing, showcasing beautiful pastries and cakes and tarts, and also quiches and panini-like sandwiches. And they had a sheet showing gorgeous cakes one can order and purchase. Really gorgeous cakes. (Expensive, though, but for a special event, might be nice!). There were lots of enticing cookies and biscottis available by the cash, too. All in all, I was impressed with the selection of foods here, and they all looked great. I ordered a small bowl of French onion soup gratinée to have there, and an almond croissant to go. My friend ordered a bowl of mushroom soup and a fruit salad, as well as a coffee. My soup was okay. I expected more melted cheese, as usually there is a "cap" of melted cheese covering the bowl, sitting on submerged pieces of homemade bread. Here there were only two small slices of bread from a baguette with a bit of melted cheese on top of the baguette slices. I must admit, I've never seen "soup à l'oignon gratinée" that looked like this! (I'm from Montreal and have had this soup a million times growing up). But at least this tasted good, and the broth was flavorful and it was chock full of onions. My almond croissant, which I had later at home, was very good, too, but not outstanding. It was fresh and large and soft and fluffy inside, but there was not a lot of filling, and the actual almond flavor was very, very subtle. My friend enjoyed her mushroom soup, saying it was "good", and she said the fruit salad was very fresh and very good, and her coffee was "perfect". Prices here were somewhat high for what you get, but we still had a lovely lunch here.

There was only one family ahead of me when I entered, who was asking questions about bean recommendations. The person at the order counter was really helpful providing them with good information. When it was my turn to order, it was quick since I had already selected beans that I wanted to purchase, and my oat latte. Option was asked if I wanted to dine in or takeout, and I went with the latter. After I got my drink, I took a seat on one of the benches they have outside the store. There's also a decent amount of indoor seating and an outdoor patio section in front of the store. Not my first time trying Nemesis since I've been to Vancouver before, but definitely a reminder of why they are listed as one of the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops. If I wasn't so full from brunch, I would have also gotten one of their pastries. Seeing them all was very tempting.

Not a place to sit a work for hours. Ok for just 30-45 minutes. Be ready to pay $$$. Music on louder side. The food at first glance looks and sounds like every other upscale coffee place with expensive croissants and loafs, BUT, when you order off their menu you get a very nice palatable surprise!!! The chef has designed really gourmet modern twists using familiar ingredients like Asian style pork belly eggs Benedict or asparagus danish with yummy mozzarella cheese grated on top. Very unexpected and very tasty in a premium experience way. Like Michelin star level. The reason I have four instead of five stars was because of my ordering experience. I had stood at the counter waiting to order. Awkwardly waiting for the staff to finish chit chatting. And then giving me a little look like I'm interrupting their conversation. The person who ended up serving me was pleasant but my first impression was made. The architecture was very aesthetically unique compared to anything else that I have experienced. I thought it looked and felt like I was inside an apple. Not sure what it was though!! It's quite over the top for a coffee spot or restaurant, but considering it's right next to Emily Carr University, it makes more sense that the building is art too. Would come back again.

My boyfriend lined up at 9:30am for a 10am opening and there were already 25 people ahead of him. By the time the store opened, the line was over two blocks long. I heard the line up was up to 2 hours long later that day so to say that Angus T is a hit is a bit of an understatement. This is a cute location where the emphasis is on sweet and savoury croissants but they offer Danish, cinnamon buns, tea, and coffee options. We ordered the limited offering of the strawberry creme croissant plus got a regular croissant, onion jam & bacon, pistachio & raspberry, and ham & cheese. All of these croissants were DELICIOUS and the regular croissant brings me memories of Paris! Yes, they are pricey but at around $1.50 to $2.50 more than a croissant from Starbucks a block away, it is well worth it as a treat. I look forward to tasting more flavours and taking friends here to catch up over a delicious croissant and hot cup of tea. The River District neighbourhood needed a cute café like this and so glad they are finally open. Pro tip: if enjoying the treats at home, reheat the croissants in low heat. They taste better warm!

Honestly, this is one of my favorite coffee shops in Vancouver, there's something about the vibe here and the coffee that just brings me a lot of joy. I haven't really tried their pastries yet but I am looking forward to do so when I have a sweet tooth! Because of how this place makes me feel and the quality of the coffee, this deserves 5 stars for me.
