Took my daughter for her 25th bday weekend and this place was delicious. Make sure you make a reservation for Sundays because it can get busy. Also Tommy the Manager was amazing and Kevin our server was also great! Such excellent customer service! Will definitely come here again from Seattle.

This place takes basic dishes and just makes them really well. Got the Paul's classic breakfast and the potato's were baked perfectly (crispy outside and fluffy inside), the bacon was crispy, and eggs were the most textbook sunny side up eggs I've ever gotten from a restaurant. The croffles were also great. The sausage though was pretty dry. I also got a London fog which was good

There was a few us who wanted to share a few items and it was interesting. Pizza Royal $20 Flat bread style, not greasy, clean tasting, gorgeous presentation, perfect for those who can be sensitive to smell. This would be a perfect pizza for lunch at the office. It hits the variety button and it's not offensive to others in close quarters. Millefeuille Nature $13.50 This was the highlight, flakey pastry and custard. Very nice. Tartelette Multifruit $13.40 Presentation is pretty, well executed crust- however lacking in flavour. The fruits are pretty- but it lacked a sweet glaze as the fruit has been drying out and out of season. The custard is gummy. Recipe needs to adapt to season. Double Baked Almond Croissant Nice flake and lamination, not greasy. Nice flavour. Staff is helpful and interior is very European.

Cute Bakery! This is a pretty historic place and they did some renovations! Awesome place for meetings or work dates funday! I enjoyed the ambiance and the lighting! Try the Afagatto with biscuits, you wont regret it!

Mille feuilles, probably one of the best I have ever tasted. Except the white glaze, which I removed.

Paul is always a guarantee. Got the flat noisette croissant and the Mille feuilles and both were very good. The Mille feuilles in particular was absolutely perfect, except the white glaze on the top, which I removed. Some of the pastries on display looked "tired", maybe from the day before? Not sure, but I can't comment because I purposefully did not get them. Awesome, highly recommended!

Really elegant French style coffe shop along the busy stretch of Robson. Parking here is pretty awful. Some metered spots at best. This is one seriously elegant looking coffee shop. Hipster meets modern and old school European design. The high ceilings give the place a very spacious feel. The front area feels like a modern European coffee shop, but the rear area is like an old style restaurant. Staff are friendly and professional. Service with a smile. Special mention. I had the boozy coffee hot chocolate, which is powereed by 1.5oz of Kahlua. The combo comes with a piece of tiramisu. The hot chocolate itself was definitely on the sweet side, but I was able to dilute it with a glass of water. Served with some nice fluffy cream on top. The tiramisu was also quite tasty. Creamy and not frozen or chunky. This place isn't cheap, but I'd definitely come back again. Recommended.

Fantastic place for High Tea on the weekend! Wonderful staff, beautiful shop & the offerings were out of this world, everything was delicious!!

Great spot for European style lunch or coffee. Amazing options of baked goods and the espresso is great.

Paul's Bakery Cafe and Restaurant in Vancouver is an absolute culinary delight that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through its inviting doors, I knew I was in for a treat. Here's why I can't stop raving about this establishment. The ambiance at Paul's is nothing short of charming. The rustic decor, warm lighting, and the aroma of freshly baked bread create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner or a casual brunch with friends, Paul's offers the perfect setting to relax and enjoy your meal. I got their club sandwich and Banana foster pain perdu. Both looked as good as they tasted! For drinks, their mint green tea was really good but was not a fan of their juice. the service is good and they are quiet attentive.

I'm not quite sure why there's such a poor review of this place--I thought it was amazing. I did dine in both the restaurant and cafe area on the same day, and I have different experiences for both. Restaurant: The restaurant is a different area than the cafe portion, and you have to walk through the cafe to get to the restaurant. While sitting here, I felt as if it was more spacious and there was more lighting. Similar to other restaurants, the staff comes to your table to wait for you. My friend and I came here for brunch and got two different dishes. While they took a while to come out, considering we were 1/2 tables they had at the end, service felt quite slow. However, the food was so filling and delicious in the end. Cafe: The cafe is definitely more cramped than the restaurant portion and a lot busier. Like any other cafe, you order your drinks and food at the front then sit down at a table. Be ready as there may not be seating when you come so you may have the wait. I would recommend a soft dessert like a cake or muffin as I ordered the berry tart and it was HARD. The crust was so hard that I could barely cut through it without crumbling and it made the eating process so difficult. The drinks were also okay. Overall, the inside of the restaurant and cafe were both so pretty. Food presentation was beautiful and it was a great place for brunch. However, if I had to recommend one or the other, I would recommend trying the restaurant here rather than the cafe as the ambiance and service was much better.

We reserved for a group of five at 930am and were there about two hours. They were not too busy and we were not rushed at all, just enjoying our conversation. This is an absolutely gorgeous space with excellent French food and service. Between us we tried and enjoyed many things. Specifically I really enjoyed the crepe with spinach and mushrooms. I also had an excellent mocha, which was a nice way to get a taste for their fine very thick hot chocolate without it being too overwhelming for me. My husband loved the matcha tea, my niece preferred the matcha latte. I didn't realize when we booked, but there was a promotion that sent us home with a dozen free macarons with a minimum spend of $50. I would say on average with taxes and a nice tip that we averaged about $30 per person. Washrooms are individual rooms accessible to all.

I can understand why some reviews are 3 stars. My friend and I wanted to check out Paul so we went here last Wednesday. There are 2 separate dining sections the fancier area and one by the entrance. Reso is required to book fancy area. I ordered Le Paul salad while my friend had a salmon croissant with coffee. Food was nothing special. Salmon croissant was expensive and small. My salad was fresh it tasted okay. Atmosphere was clean and beautiful, food could've been better. My friend didn't like her coffee and the sandwich. Food was pre-made in expensive price. We enjoyed chatting in the afternoon without being interrupted by staff. I personally find Paul's Bakery to be overrated there can be a better option.

Great coffee and vibe. Food was tasty but there's no coffee refills. Loved the scrambled eggs and the black coffee was delicious. The pastry selection is good too.

We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
