Brooklyn energy activated Fat Rabbit (245 DeKalb Ave) is a straight-up comfort food gym with 80s/90s nostalgia. I came hungry and left victorious. Hungry Buddy: 3 eggs over easy, home fries, bacon + turkey sausage -- breakfast built like a linebacker. Classic chicken soup -- simple, perfect, soul restored. Fried Chicken Sandwich: brioche, ranch, pickled jalapeños, dill fries... no mercy. Double smashed burger: double beef, mac sauce, Texas toast -- out of this world The ambience has Super chill vibes, food service was top-notch, food didn't miss once. Already planning my next trip back to Brooklyn just to eat here again.

We made new friends sitting at the bar. Very comfortable and welcoming bartender and staff. I felt welcomed .

This review is specifically for Annabelle who went out of her way to accommodate my friend and I and ensure we had a good time!! THANK YOU Annabelle, you made our week For context, I went here to watch *THE* Knicks game sat 6/13 with my friend--we stumbled upon this bar as we were scrambling to find somewhere to go since we didn't have a reservation. The place was entirely booked out but not fully seated yet, so Annabelle let us stand inside and wait for a table to hopefully open up and watch the game on the TV in the meantime. When she saw we'd been standing for a while, she let us sit at the last table for 2 that wasn't yet seated (but was reserved) while we waited, and then informed us 10 min later that she'd worked her magic to make it possible for us to actually sit there and enjoy the game the whole rest of the night. She was running back and forth all night long helping as many people enjoy this historic night as possible, pushing through the chaos with a positive attitude and a friendliness that stood out from the rest of the team. I had zero expectations, but the drinks I ordered were perfectly balanced and well mixed, the fries were delicious and the bread pudding was so moist and satisfying without being too sweet! Thank you Annabelle and team!

A friend and I came here last night for dinner and we loved everything about it! First of all, it's cute and cozy -- sort of a retro diner vibe, but classy. Our server was friendly, funny, and attentive. And most importantly, the food was great! I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was perfect -- crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, not greasy at all. I ordered fries to go with it (they're not included) and they were also perfect. My friend got the falafel salad (which was huge) and really enjoyed it. Prices seemed fair and the noise level was fine. We'll be back!

Fat Rabbit is a unique place that I enjoyed. After a busy morning, I stopped in with my 2 year old buddy for an early bite of lunch. We were seated right away and well looked after by our server. He's particular about his food, so he had 2 sides; some bacon and french fries. Both were very much to his liking. I had a grilled cheese sandwich which was tasty. Pricing was reasonable for this part of Brooklyn. To me, the unique part of Fat Rabbit is that had a nice bar area. I'm not sure if this a diner with a solid bar, or a bar wanting to be a diner. Looks like it can be a fun place in the evenings.

Nice neighborhood lunch or dinner place with really great simple fare and an Estrella beer. Perfection.

This is a modern, inviting diner with subtle decor that nods to a previous era. They have booths for larger groups, as well as several tables for two. It was busy but not packed on a Saturday morning around 10:30. The menu was fairly small, but had lots of comfort classics. To start, we had the beignets. An order came with four pieces. These were the perfect amount of sweetness and nicely complemented by the strawberry sauce. For my main, I got the two eggs any style. This came with salad, toast, and potatoes. It was quite filling. The potatoes were nicely seasoned and mixed with bell peppers. The salad was fresh with a creamy dressing. The whole wheat toast was very hearty. Servers were friendly.

It has the kind of cozy neighborhood vibe that makes you want to relax and savor your meal. Our server, Annie S., was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and very easy to talk to. Her service struck the perfect balance and truly enhanced our experience. We shared the Sailor Gin Martini, which was beautifully chilled, bright, aromatic, and finished with a lovely dry note. It was refreshing and absolutely delicious. For our appetizer, we shared the quiche. It was so good that we completely forgot to take a photo before finishing it! For our entrées, I ordered the cod and my husband had the burger without the bun. The cod was honestly one of the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. The pea purée that accompanied it was equally delicious and complemented the fish beautifully. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger, and I couldn't resist helping myself to some of his fries, which were excellent as well. Every part of this meal was enjoyable, from the drink and food to the warm hospitality and comfortable atmosphere. Needless to say, we both left very happy.

We ordered two appetizers with distinctive sauces, and when our plates weren't cleared after the first course, we made what I thought was a very reasonable request for fresh plates. That simple request seemed to send our server over the edge. At a restaurant of this caliber, I would expect fresh plates and silverware to be brought automatically between courses. Instead, the staff insisted that we keep using the same silverware throughout the meal. Later in the evening, I sat with an empty cocktail glass for quite a while. I tried making eye contact with our server, who appeared to avoid our table by turning her back and refusing to look over. I suspect she noticed me in her peripheral vision because she abruptly said, "I'll be with you in just a moment." I wasn't waving her down or trying to interrupt her. I simply wanted a wine list, which could have been dropped off in seconds for me to browse while she continued helping other tables. Instead, after I asked, she prioritized several other tasks before eventually bringing it over. At one point, my friends joked that "the food is great in Brooklyn, but the service is rude." That honestly made me sad to hear because it doesn't reflect the Brooklyn I've known over the past 14 years. I've always found it to be warm and welcoming. I'm not sure what happened to Sailor, but this experience couldn't have been more different from my first visit, as reflected in my previous review. Before dismissing this as someone being overly critical, it's worth noting that I worked in the service industry for 17 years. I know restaurants get busy, and I don't expect perfection. But basic hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism should still be part of the experience, especially at a restaurant of this quality.

When I walked in, I noticed two available seats at the bar. A Caucasian woman took one of the seats, and I sat in the other. Moments later, an employee asked me to move because the woman's friend was supposedly on the way. Now, I've always understood bar seating to be first come, first served. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I wasn't even given the opportunity to order a drink or remain seated until the friend actually arrived. Instead, I was immediately asked to give up my seat for someone who wasn't even present. As a Black man, on Juneteenth of all days, the optics of the situation did not sit well with me. The music was Black. The atmosphere was Black. The culture being celebrated was Black. Yet it felt like preference was being given to someone who wasn't even there over a paying customer who was. Maybe that wasn't the intent, but perception matters, and the experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment. Avoid it at all cost! Zero STARS

Everything was exactly as I remembered -perfectly cooked and well seasoned, large portions with more than enough to take home. The chef stopped by our table which was a nice touch. Service overall was great. They also make great use of such a small space. It is indeed well worth the visit. Side note, we ordered the same exact items off the menu as we did a year ago...only one thing was missing which was the biscuits with the flavored butter jam. We were told the biscuits were replaced with cornbread. I didn't order the cornbread this time around but would like to see the biscuits return at some point.

We loved the food…read more Came here on a saturday for lunch before the world cup. We arrived just when it opened I think. The place was pretty quiet. Friendly waitress greeted us and sat us immediately. Menu's came out and they recommended a pizza and burger. We agreed and ordered. Place started to pick up and get busy immediately after we ordered. Food came out pretty quickly. We each had a burger. Not a lot of options on the menu but we all tried the emily burger. It was worth it. Think, juicy and with an amazingly unique taste. The ingredients were high quality, the burger cooked to perfection. The table also split the modern pizza (I think). Not sure what to expect from this one but turns out it was perfect, unique and delicious. The cheese taste really shined through. Overall, we were super happy with the food here. Stop by if you have a chance.

Greetings all, it's been a while but here I am. Let's talk about Emily a quant pizza restaurant…read morethat you could easily walk pass and not know what they sold. Today however it wasn't pizza that brought me here, it was the famous Emmy Burger. To begin with the atmosphere of the restaurant is dim lighting a few tables with a reasonable sized bar in the middle of the room. They also have an open kitchen concept where just past the bar you can see the cooks working. My server Inda was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. My burger was excellent, normally I don't eat my burger with a knife and folk, but in this case with all the cheese and sauce oozing down the sides, not to mention the caramelized onions, it was necessary. (If I were home I wouldn't mind having burger juices running down my arm, but other people were eating in the restaurant also). The tiny pickles which I can't remember the name of were an added treat to the burger. I decided to order mine with the loaded fries. Just imagine the ground burger with all the toppings covering french fries and add melted white cheese. Since I was alone I didn't order a pizza because how would I eat it all, but next time I will try the pizza. I don't mind paying extra for a burger when it's aged beef and the taste is great. I definitely recommend this location. There is a fast food burger restaurant next door to Emily's but I can't imagine there burgers compare. I will try them another time and let you know. That's all for now, see you on my next review.
