Sashimi Dinner 14 pieces of deliciousness
Wil G.

This way my first time enjoying my meal with the nicest people I've met here who helped me order amazing delicious ramen and sashimi! Thank you very much to Tatiana and Alison! Your advice was perfect! The seats were comfortable with the soft seats and the inside is very clean when I was there. Many great items to choose from. I'll be back soon! Also a shout out to the sushi chef. Really great job!

This is a no-frills sushi place that doesn't really have wait service, since you order on a tablet when you indicate that you're dining in. The ambiance is a bunch of diner-type tables that need a little more cleaning up. The food itself is just okay. Although the prices are lower for Japanese food, it also reflects the quality and portion. For example, we were surprised that my partner's salmon dish was so small. He had to order more protein to add on to the dish. My partner did like his sushi roll but felt the way I did about my sushi roll: too much rice and it didn't stick together much so it fell apart. The veggie rolls were creative though and although I have the same complaint about there being too much rice, I still thought that it was nice to have the option of vegetable tempura rolls. The avocado roll was a little on the softer side with the avocado being a little mushy.

Shin ramen with tempura shrimp

I've tried most of the Japanese spots around here and had skipped this one for a while because of the reviews, but finally gave it a shot. Prices are definitely on the cheaper side, so that's a plus. That said, a couple things stood out right away, the outside of the place looked a bit rough and not the cleanest, which didn't give the best first impression. Food wise, it was just okay. I ordered the shin ramen with tempura shrimp. The broth itself was decent, but the egg kind of fell apart and had more of that egg drop soup texture, which was a little odd. The shrimp tempura also didn't seem very fresh, the batter was different than what you'd expect and it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. Overall, I'd say it works if you're just looking for a quick, inexpensive fix, but I wouldn't come in expecting anything super authentic or high quality. You kind of get what you pay for here. I probably won't come here again.

This sushi spot has plenty of parking, with a small lot and street parking nearby since it's close to downtown San Leandro. Just a heads-up--you do have to pay before receiving your food. They do give you green tea and miso soup on the house, which is a nice touch. I ordered the spicy garlic edamame, which was amazing and very flavorful, and the baked roll was delicious and a standout. The food was really good overall, with big portions. The quality and portion sizes make it worth stopping by, and I'd definitely come back for the food alone. The place is small and can get crowded. The staff was okay--mediocre friendly--but the ambience was nice and welcoming.

Rainbow roll & New York (cream cheese) roll

Ok, I don't know if I'm tripping or what. $8.95 for a New York roll with Shrimp, cream cheese, and avocado. This roll should be listed as cream cheese, a lil shrimp and a lil avocado. Am I the one tripping that thinking for $9 plus tax and tip that I should have at least whole shrimps and not slivered ones in my roll. And the avocado is sliced so thin it looks like a bad piece of bologna. Depending on how my salad and Rainbow roll taste, I might not be back.

Ordered, picked up and there were no chopsticks or about sauce in the bag. The food was good, however annoying that they couldn't be bothered to put any utensils in the bag.

A coworker said they would always come here to get sushi even though they live 45 minutes away. With that said, I had to try. We ordered take out for a mini birthday dinner. The staff on the phone were friendly. You should always have them repeat your order, especially if it's a large order. They didn't enter my order correctly and it was only the first two items I said. Pick up only took 20 minutes like promised. Well packaged and provided enough utensils. Rolls - All of us agreed that while the portions are big the rice was not good. Everything fell apart once you pick it up and there's no vinegar taste to it. Katsu Don - I liked all the ingredients they included (katsu, cabbage, onions, egg, carrots) because some include other random toppings. But the flavor was lacking. Barely any flavor. Overall, for the price it was good. I'd probably come again for other items.

I haven't been to Fat Fish in yearrssss and it's just not the same anymore. Not sure what happened, but it's no longer bang for your buck serving size and quality. Also, I'm pretty sure they were trying to close early since we were the only ones dining so we were rushing to eat and get out of there.

I've been coming here for years and always pick up. Quality has always been the same great well prepared tastes good and never disappointed. The Lion King is great as well as the deep fried California roll, regular California roll, New York roll, and avocado roll. All are my favorites. I should explore more but these are always my Go-To. Service is always good. Ambiance ok.

Quiet and friendly place with the delicious food. 100+ options to choose from. The service was excellent.

stingiest salmon on a lion king ever. I usually order my sushi at fat fish but I probably won't for a while. i could barely taste the salmon. This is the smallest amount of salmon i've ever gotten in a lion king. 0/10.

The cheapest sushi in town by far. You get a lot for your money. This is my favorite place for sushi and relatively close to my house.

They have the worst customer service. Really sad but the food is good. The girls in the front seem always angry no personality whatsoever.

Drink: frozen pink lemonade beer - excellent, served in a great slushy texture, balance sweetness and acidity, with a subtle malty flavor Food: Seasonal Corn Sausage Detroit Pizza - good, crust was light and airy almost focaccia like topped with mozzarella and ricotta which provided rich creaminess, crumble sausage which added a meaty savory flavor, calabrian chili oil, red onion which added nice spiciness Service was good we ordered through the toast QR code and staff brought out drinks and food after a few minutes wait. It is a bigger parking lot and there's a bunch of street parking as well. There is a bigger outdoor seating area as well as some bar seats and indoor seating area. The QR ordering system was down the day that we were there so they were taking orders at the bar. We ended up getting a bunch of stuff, fries, wings, pizza and everything came out pretty quickly and was all delicious. The beer at Fieldwork is always good and they have a big selection for all different types of beer drinkers. Further out of my way but will stop by whenever I'm close

Wow was I surprised as the high quality of the food. We shared devil eggs, the sticky dry fried ribs and a salad. Oh my was it an epicurean delight. The food was served timely and tasty. The servers were kind and knowledgeable recommending the menus specialities and I was not disappointed. The drinks were above board and mixed to perfection. This is another San Leandro hidden jewel. The atmosphere was so inviting. Warm and calm, whether you were seated inside or out, you felt comfortable. There was nothing on the menus I would not recommend and the portions are not skimpy. I recommend you order different items so you can share and sample many of the items on the menu. Given the economic climate, the prices are reasonable. I enjoyed my dining experience so much, my husband and I went there 3 days later and was not disappointed and he is somewhat selective. Those I have recommended this restaurant to, have enjoyed their experience also. I highly recommend you try it out and put it on your list of regular favorites. Bon appetite!

All of the items on the menu sounded delicious. I chose between the salmon belly and the Hokkaido scallops, and went with the scallops. They did not disappoint! While the food…read morewas actually quite decent, the overall experience was overshadowed by the disappointing service. Throughout our visit, the waitress appeared rushed and inattentive. She started clearing dishes from our table while we were still eating, without asking whether we had finished. This made us feel uncomfortable and unnecessarily pressured to finish our meal. Additionally, I was given the wrong type of knife for my steak, and the utensils were not placed or presented in a professional manner. While these may seem like minor details, they reflect a lack of attention to basic dining etiquette and customer service standards. I understand that restaurant staff can be busy, but basic courtesy, attentiveness, and professionalism should always be maintained. Customers should be able to relax and enjoy their meals without feeling rushed or unwelcome. The food itself was not bad, which made the disappointing service even more unfortunate. Good food is important, but quality service is equally essential to an enjoyable dining experience. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and provide better staff training. With more attentive and professional service, this restaurant could offer a much better overall dining experience.
