They didn't waste any time and communicated every step of the way. Frankly, they made the IMPOSSIBLE very possible. I am amazed at how efficient they are. Moving is a very stressful endeavor a month out just getting things ready and they made it seamless. Quick, efficient and under budget... yes, under my budget. I won't name names of other movers I've used and paid 30% more for less results. I have a 15 monitor work station that I am very hesitant about anyone touching let alone moving, but these guys handled it like a breeze, especially during a rainy day on top of everything else. I don't usually write reviews, but when a company EXCEEDS my expectations, it's a duty to let others KNOW. I would want the same as well, especially with so many moving companies out there and nightmare stories. These guys are LEGIT and DESERVE their reputation as a TOP PLAYER in the moving business. Sorry for the duplicate review, found my actual account lol.

Prince Movers had the initial best rate and their hourly rate was great - far less than the other companies. Plus, they were able to move us on a Saturday. Our team was Carlos, Omar, Marvin, and Rafael. They showed up exactly on time, were polite, worked well together, and kept us fully informed of everything they were doing. One thing that was great is how they took time to prepare the home for the moving process, protecting floors, stairs, and other surfaces to make sure zero damage was done. Their wrapping of items was great - you can definitely tell that they care about protecting your items. Moving is always a pain, but Prince Movers and the team were awesome from the first quote to the final hand shakes with the team. I would recommend them to anybody and I will definitely use them again.

I moved this past weekend and hired Bookstore Movers for the job. I can honestly say I was blown…read moreaway by the professionalism, efficiency, and expertise of the moving crew. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

The company assured us they could meet this deadline and charged a deposit of $880 to my credit card. On the scheduled move day, Thursday, May 15, the movers arrived an hour earlier than agreed and abruptly refused to proceed, citing "dusty conditions." They canceled the move on the spot and did not perform any of the services we contracted for. Because of their last minute cancellation, we were forced to scramble for another moving company, request a one day extension of our move out deadline, and absorb significant additional expenses and stress. Despite providing no services whatsoever, Available Movers & Storage then processed an additional charge of $452 to my credit card, bringing the total to $1,332.89. When we requested a refund, the owner, Laura Khokhar, refused. She claimed the company was entitled to a minimum payment of $480 simply because the crew "showed up," even though they refused to complete the job. I filed a complaint with the Fairfax County Department of Consumer Affairs. Ms. Khokhar responded initially, but after I submitted a rebuttal, she stopped communicating with the case worker despite multiple attempts to reach her. The case worker ultimately suggested that I may need to pursue the matter in General District Court. Before taking that step, I attempted to call Ms. Khokhar directly to resolve the issue. She hung up on me. I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but the BBB also received no response from the company. We have since filed a warrant in debt against the CEO of Available Movers & Storage using the address listed on their website (21530 Blackwood Court, Suite 150, Sterling, Virginia 20166). It now appears the CEO may be attempting to avoid service. Based on my experience, I strongly urge consumers to exercise extreme caution before hiring this company. The pattern of unexpected charges, refusal to perform contracted services, lack of communication, and avoidance of accountability raises serious concerns about their business practices.

I hired Available Movers & Storage for my move on 12/21/24. While the actual moving crew was…read moreefficient and hardworking, the poor management, hidden fees, and unresolved damage claim made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I gave them plenty of chances to resolve the issues, but at this point, I feel obligated to warn others. 1. Hidden Fees & Pricing Practices The initial quote did not include a fuel surcharge or credit card processing fees, yet both were added to my final invoice, increasing the total cost by $146. This feels deceptive--like a tactic to make their pricing appear more competitive upfront, only to tack on extra charges later. 2. Broken Table - No Resolution One of my stone tables broke during the move. While accidents happen, and I do believe the movers handled my furniture with care, what happened after is unacceptable. The company picked up my damaged tabletop on 2/3/25 for supposed repairs, but despite texting and emailing them throughout February, I have received no clear updates. I keep getting vague responses or silence. As of now, I don't even know if my table can be repaired or if I will ever get it back. 3. Unfulfilled Refund Promise & Overcharged for a Table That Was Never Moved I originally planned to have another marble table moved, but the crew didn't bring enough movers to lift it. While safety is absolutely the top priority, it was frustrating because I had mentioned this table in advance and expected it to be included in the move. Instead, they wanted to charge me an additional $200 to come back on another day to move it, which felt unreasonable given that it should have been accounted for in the initial plan. Since I declined, the table was never moved--but they still charged me $212.95 for it. They acknowledged the mistake and promised a refund, but I never received it. 4. Late Arrival The movers were scheduled to arrive between 8:30-9:00 AM, but they didn't show up until 9:30 AM. While delays can happen, I was given no proactive communication about the delay, which was inconvenient. 5. Poor Communication & Lack of Accountability While the movers themselves were great, management is a nightmare to deal with. I reached out multiple times via email and text to Laura throughout January and February, yet she either gave vague answers, made excuses, or ignored me entirely. In January, I was informed that they had a death in the family, so I was understanding and gave them extra time. However, I still expected occasional updates, especially since I was in constant back-and-forth text communication throughout February trying to get a status update on my broken table. Despite this, I was given no clear timeline, no repair confirmation, and no details on where my table was taken. 6. Recurring Issues in Other Reviews After my experience, I checked other reviews and found similar complaints from customers over the years--poor communication, hidden fees, and unresolved damage claims. It's disappointing that they are still engaging in the same problematic practices. 7. No Response to Formal Request - Forced to File a Dispute I formally emailed them on 3/1/25 requesting a written response by 3/6/25 regarding both my refund and my damaged table. When they failed to respond, I followed up again on 3/6/25, reminding them of my previous email. Still, no response. At this point, I am forced to file a credit card dispute to try and recover my money. I'll also continue pursuing answers regarding my table, but at this point, I don't know if I'll ever see it again. If the situation gets resolved, I will update this review. Final Thoughts The Good: The actual movers were hardworking and efficient. Despite the damage to my table, I recognize that they wrapped my furniture well and put in real effort. The Bad: Poor management, hidden fees, no accountability, and a lack of communication. I gave them plenty of time to resolve my issues, but they refused to take action. If you use this company, be prepared for potential issues with hidden charges and unresponsive management if you have any issues.
