Was recently in Modesto for business and decided to go to Moab's. I'd not eaten there since I was five years old. Ordered the cheeseburger and fries. The burger tasted EXACTLY like it did 60 years ago and it was so good and brought me back to my childhood. The fries were delicious as well. Thank you Moab's and the new owners! The ambience is full of nostalgia and it was clean. My meal was delivered to my table in a reasonable time. Excited to take my son and fiancé there for the first time and I was greeted with terrible service from the start. Started to order then was told a burger doesn't come in a combo in a rude tone. Instead of helping me he just stared. Then he said my card didn't work when someone else just paid with a card. But he didn't try to insert it back in or ask someone else for help just told me it doesn't work. I went to five star burger instead. read more

This was my first time trying MOAB the customer service was very nice and friendly and they was fast with taking my order . I was surprised that my price was $24 . I would have through the sandwich would have been much bigger for that price . Overall the sandwich was ok for that price I thought it would have more flavor and again I must say I thought the sandwich would have been much larger but the sandwich is actually very small . We came here for lunch because my husband was craving a cheesesteak and we just happened to be in Modesto. He ordered a philly beef cheesesteak, which tasted good, but was sloppily put together and the bread was falling apart. The fried mushrooms were good. Breading was crispy. Fries were good too. The butterfinger shake was on point. However, my cheeseburger was a disappointment. The beef patty tasted frozen, not fresh and not seasoned. It was wet and super soggy. The bun was also falling apart. Not good. Ill probably end up coming here again and hope the food is a lil better next time read more

Stopped by Fast Eddie's today. Usually buy a hamburger but today I tried their hotdog. Best damn hot dog in town!!!!

I ordered a fish sandwich, maybe I should have ordered the hamburger, the fish sandwich was just a fried frozen patty, not very good at all. The fried zucchini ~ mostly batter. It may have been a good place back in the day....but it needs a through dusting and cleaning now. There's a fish tank with a huge fish that looks too big for the tank. I wanted to like it. The staff who was here the night we came in was really friendly and helpful, we mentioned that we had never been in before and they explained how their menu worked, they also pointed out a NEW MENU ITEM the jalapeño poppers which as a sales manager I find great! Moab has changed. Burned buns, and a soggy lower bun. Everything about this burger is subpar including the quality of the meat itself. Bummer. These places are a dying breed. Unfortunately I will not be returning unless there are changes. I would prefer a more expensive burger with quality ingredients vs a cheap burger that's well ... cheap. read more

Enjoy the new jukebox, alcohol menu, old scho arcades and Napoleon burger the new owner has added. I've frequented this place for years and have always thought the burger needed salt/more flavor. I was glad to taste that difference today. I do not enjoy the new spin (seasoned salt) on the fries. Way too salty. Chicken tenders were burnt. The service seems to have changed too. Every single table was dirty and had crumbs on it. It looked greasy and unwiped. Also had to dust crumbs off our chairs. I tried moving tables twice but all seats & tables were crumby. Customers should not have to do the staffs job. They seemed short staffed and I didn't like the cashier taking my money & then not washing her hands to make my shake, get drinks and help serve food. It seems like having one person to cashier and bus tables would be very helpful. The cashier today was very slow and let other customers distract her while I was giving her my order. Instead of telling them she'd be right with them, or apologize to me for having to help them, she literally just turned away twice, to talk to other customers at the outside window, while our family of 4 was ordering. Never had any of these issues before in the 30yrs we've been patrons. If you're that short staffed please consider keeping the bathroom unlocked. It was so inconvenient to ask for the key. The cashier also kept me stabding there for a good 4 minutes before I had to ask her for the key. She kept looking at me standing at the counter and didn't ask if I needed anything. Really need to step up on the customer service if you expect us old faithfuls to stick around. read more

Ok. The burgers were really good, above average in my opinion. The fries were average or maybe even a little below average, not a lot of flavor. The staff was alright, not super friendly (the person we got anyway). My biggest complaint was the wait. When we first got there it was super busy, tons of cars and people so we left and came back after almost all the cars were gone. We ordered just a simple burger and some fries and ended up waiting almost 30 min. We got it to go and had somewhere to be so I think 30 min for fast food is ridiculous. Used to go here when i attended the jr. College down the street. The quality has gone down considerably and the prices are wayy too high. I paid $13 and change for a small chicken sandwich (the size of one from the value menu) and some fries. Go any place in Modesto and you can get a much better burger and fries for under $10. There you go! Meal On A Bun...very cool and so was the menu and the food. Very flavorful burger and they have a number of varieties to choose from. Also fried things like zucchini, mushrooms, chili and drinks. Walk up or come in and sit down. Place is clean. Service is friendly and efficient, along with the kitchen. Decor is ecclectic, like Applebee's and TGI Fridays, but with older and more personally used stuff. You will see what I mean when you walk in. I did the burger, fries and drink special and wife did chili with fried zucchini. My burger hit the right spots with me and the fries were not greasy, so done right. Wife's chili was not good. It was overloaded with chili powder, had been on the heat too long so was like thick gruel. And for cheese it is not shredded, but just a slab of American single on top. Zucchini must have melted withing the batter as there was no substance when bitten. Not recommended. Wife had a bad experience with Fast Eddie, but is willing to return. That said, we will both be back again. Want to try the Philly Cheese Steak, mushroom and steak and the burger on sourdough toast. read more

This is a funky little place that has been around since the 70s. The dining room is filled with all kinds of interesting mementos from the past and they have a gigantic aquarium filled with fish. Kids and adults alike will love the quirky dining room. They write down your order and then run the total on a calculator. I like the hot dog and the sourdough Mo which is a bacon cheeseburger with tomato on buttery grilled sourdough bread. And when your meal is ready they bring your food to your table. You don't have to listen for your name or number to be shouted because they come find you. This is a great place you won't find anywhere else so check it out. read more

What a great hole in the wall greasy spoon kinda place. You must try the philly cheese steak with mushrooms and the juicy cheeseburgers and the curly fries. The indoor decor consists of big scary fish in an aquarium and heads of various animals on the walls and a pin ball machine. The place reminds me of some of my moms family. Pro: Food was pretty good and the inside is nice. The cook was very nice and attentive. They have games and two TVs that we're playing a football game. Con: cashier wasn't as friendly or helpful. Place has a bathroom but no changing table. Best to come during summer time when you can change your baby in the car and not have to worry about the cold because they have no changing table in the bathroom and won't allow you to change him inside. read more

My daughter and I went there for the first time under new Owners. They got our orders wrong. We ordered spicy chicken sandwich and we got burnt chicken sandwich with soggy lettuce and burnt buns. This is a great burger joint. We stopped in on a Saturday around 5pm after our original choice of burger joint was closed. So glad it was closed and we were able to try out fast Eddies! Service was great they were very patient while we browsed the menu as it was our first time here. The guy at the window was very friendly as well as the girl that gave us our order. Everything was fresh and made correctly even with all of our add ons and substitutions. We will definitely be returning and I highly recommend if you're if the mood for a great burger. read more

Not impressed with the food or staff, I felt the staff was rude to the point I wanted to ask for a refund but I thought I would give the food a shot. It felt like me asking questions and trying to figure out the menu was wasting the staffs time and they had better things to do. So I finally came here for lunch, and I must say it was the best Philly cheese steak sandwich I could find in the area out here. (I'm from NYC , and also been to Philly plenty of times for amazing sandwiches) so before you try anything else, I say try it first. The very thinly sliced meat, was exactly the way it's suppose to be. The veggies were cooked down too, because I hate when I bite into raw onions or peppers... So theirs was good.
