My how things changed. After me being a loyal customer for over 20 years, Yen changed on me out of the blue! I stuck with her thru 2 shops, 2 pregnancies and a 5 year maternity leave. I am over the moon I found this hidden gem of a nail salon! As a former cosmetologist I can tell you, they are doing it right! Make sure to call, they uphold the highest standard of social distancing, so it's by appointment only! My nails have grown LONGER and STRONGER than EVER thanks to to Yen! Most salons do not know how to properly do dip, and end up tearing up your nails in the process! I went to dozens of salons and had given up and was doing it myself, which is a real hassle because it's messy and takes forever. Yen is fast, gentle, and trained by SNS professionally so her application is flawless every time. I'm finally able to wear a manicure for at least 3 weeks, which I love because it saves me time and money, and my nails are SO healthy and beautiful! Make sure to tip at least 20%!! Where do I begin? I actually live in Dallas and I've been going to the same nail tech for about 5 yrs....and only her. Well she was out of town and I was coming to Houston to see my BF, so I had to go against everything in me and let someone else do my nails. I don't know the man's name but he was the only male in the shop. The entire process was a struggle. I should have stopped him when he had to ask what I currently had on my nails. (I get nexgen, BTW). I have natural nails with nexgen over them, my nails are very long. He cut them ALL down because I had broken one. I didn't stop him because I had dozed off and by the time I noticed it, he had already cut 4 of them down to the nail bed! I was crushed. Throughout the entire process, he had to stop and continually ask 2 of the other ladies questions and would show them my nails, as if he was training. I was cut several times when he would use the drill and he would laugh every time and tell me I was ok. WTF? All of my nails are crooked, they aren't the shape that I asked for and to top it all off it now looks like one of them is infected on one of the spots that I was cut. I'm beyond disgusted with the service that I received. I would never go back here and I recommend that if you try this place, DO NOT LET A MAN THERE ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR HANDS! read more

They lost a long time customer today. I've been a regular for more than ten years, and more times than I can count, and regardless of whether or not I have an appointment, when I arrive, I frequently, as in ALWAYS have to wait. Every time my daughter comes into town, we make an appointment for a mani-pedi. The last time she was here, in October, we had an appointment, but because they took another walk-in just before we arrived, we had to wait, while soaking in the water, and my daughter had to forego her manicure because we had other time commitments. Today was the last straw. A week ago, I had made an appointment for three people to get pedicures at 11. I asked if they could accommodate all three of us and was assured they could. When we arrived, ON TIME FOR OUR APPOINTMENT, I could tell they were understaffed, and had just started two clients. One technician started my husband right away, however, he would have been the fastest client to complete and finished first. He would end up waiting significant time for us. My daughter was not started until 11:30, and ONLY because I insisted she go ahead of me. It was not until 12 that I would have even been started had I not told them that I was NOT having a pedicure any longer. My daughter sat in cold water for a half an hour because Fashion Nail does not value its clients time. They are disrespectful of loyal patrons and having this happen consistently for more years than I care to admit, it is PAST time I go elsewhere. Additionally, when they were being remodeled after the flood, I had to patronize a different salon and NOT ONCE did I have to wait for a service, whether I had an appointment or not. I have been here many times now and have to say they never disappoint. I have been to other places for a pedi and it always seems that the service level a guy gets from most places is a bit sub par, but not here. They always take there time and fill the entire hour. Other places barely give me 40 minutes since I don't get my nails colored. Here. They fill the time with a foot rub and leg rub. I will be back again and again! read more

Just left this nail salon disappointed after seeing the great reviews. I went in for a pedicure and sat in the chair with my feet soaking for 25 minutes with no one working on my feet. I had asked after 10 minutes how long I'd have to wait, and their reply was 5-10 minutes. So, I waited a few more minutes past that to give them the benefit of the doubt, but finally had to get up and leave because my window of free time was quickly coming to an end. There were six people in chairs being worked on already. My fault for not asking first how long it would be before someone was available to do my pedicure, but also their fault for not telling me upfront. Sitting here in the parking lot at 7:15pm, as their door sign, Internet and hours listed on yelp all show a closing time of 7:30pm however they have refused service - I needed the polish removed before work tomorrow, no new polish needed or anything else. I have been coming to this salon for over 2 years now and I do not trust anyone else with my nails. I've gone to other places out of convenience but have always come back to this one. Fashion Nails is clean, affordable, and definitely worth telling everyone about. All of the ladies who work here and Tom, the owner, are all super sweet and attentive. They will not let you leave unhappy with your nails. Tom greets every regular by their names and takes time to get to know each and every guest and remembers exactly what they want. I would recommend this nail place to anyone and everyone and honestly, with their prices being lower than most places you'll find in Katy, there is no real competition of trying to find the best nail salon. I liked that they had cheaper prices than my normal salon does; a shellac mani was $26 whereas Vogue is $30, and they offer online, same day appointment booking if you need that. The nail tech had to take my old shellac polish off, but I had to go through two rounds of the acetone soak, which I had never had to go through before. She didn't do a bad job cleaning up my nails, but I noticed that she had filed my right thumbnail on a slight slant. Everything was generally fine most of the time, but there came a point where she began rushing - a woman came in who the ladies all knew, so she must have been a regular. She said she was going to have everything done, which equals $$$$, and the tech working on my nails seemed really excited to have her business... So excited that she rushed to get my nails painted and get me out of there. Way to make me feel like I matter as a customer. When I chose the color, she came back and was unsure as to whether she had grabbed the right color. She painted her own nail and judged that they were similar enough and said "yeah". I think I chose a more pink color rather than such an orange-coral color. Just seemed unorganized to me. Also, I came in with a darker nail color on than the one I chose today, and you can still see parts of the darker color under the new color. Although smoothly painted, she failed to paint all the way to the sides of some of my nails and there's paint on some of my cuticles. I might decide to return, but I think I'll keep an eye out for better places with great prices. read more
