Not even sure where to start. Let's begin when you walk in. Total confusion. You walk in to a wall of I don't even know what - wares being sold? Not even sure. The menu board to the right has just coffee and drinks listed. My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast because they offered vegetarian options. The menu was very limited and we had to pay $4 extra for veggie sausage. Kind of ridiculous. It has two stars since the coffee was really delicious. However we were super disappointed to see that all meals - to go or dine in - were served in take away containers. What a huge amount of trash they are creating instead of serving on reusable plates with actual silverware. They should really have the full menu available for viewing and take out that distracting display as soon as you walk in. We watched at least three or four couples walk in and then walk right out due to the confusing set up this place has. Thanks for offering vegetarian options but we won't be back. read more

I really wanted to like this place. But immediately walking in the place was full of smoke. They must have burnt something in the back and the place wasn't aired out. I'm not a huge olive fan so I wanted them to hold the olives. They told me they couldn't do that on the one dish. So I asked about something else - out of bacon! WHAT? How can you be out of bacon? Ended up selecting another sandwich. Prices were okay maybe a bit high. This isn't in the middle of the historic district or that close to Flagler so I thought that the prices might be a little better. Overall, the food was good. Service was also good. I have never reviewed a restaurant but this one is worth the time to do so. We walked into FarmHand Kchn, which was empty, and were told by a staff member that we had to wait 30 minutes because they were busy with "to go"orders. We were a party of two ordering a sandwich. I understand the "to go" orders but we were" in" store customers being told to wait in an empty restaurant? How difficult would it be to make two sandwiches for customers who were there? The employee got snarky and said "then go somewhere else!" I guess they aren't too concerned about being rude or losing money for the restaurant because I am a repeat customer and I have a big family. I even returned after finding a hair in my grits on my last visit. When I mentioned the hair they said "sorry" and offered nothing more as if they were doing me a favor by letting me eat there. Note to owners - you may want to vet your staff on manners and customer service because service is a huge factor in repeat customers. I'll be spending my time and money in a restaurant that understands how important the client really is. I'm pretty laid back but this one was worth taking the time to make the review. I'm GUSHING! FarmHand Kchn had the best grilled cheese/tomato bisque combo I've ever had. Seriously tempted to get another. They didn't have waffles when we went but had French Toast instead which was a wonderful alternative. Bring a sweater and a flashlight, because this cafe is relatively cold and has low lighting. The restaurant has a rustic feel to it, giving you the full southern feel while you chow down and enjoy (or not enjoy, depending on your taste) non stop country music. The highlight of FarmHand is their complimentary flavored sugar cubes. One of us brought us a few cubes and had us guess the different flavors they had, we had a wonderful time and would come back here for grilled cheese in a heartbeat. read more

City Bistro is a great, quaint little self-service bistro that's great for breakfast or lunch. It's very clean and homey and a little hipster. The coffees were absolutely out of this world, I was truly impressed. The Breakfast Sandwich was very good, but they skimped a little on the bacon. The sauce was good, but a little too mustard-y for my taste. Overall, 6.5/10. The Babysitter stole the show, however. The ciabatta bread was so good, the prosciutto was not skimped on and the fig added a delightful taste without overpowering the sandwich. I'm sorry to say that Yelp let us down on this one. We arrived around 1:30 do it wasn't busy. I ordered and paid for the Philly cheesesteak. I was told a few minutes later that they were out of the slides ribery for the cheesesteak and wad there something else I'd like. Ok, no problem here, stuff like this happens. I changed the order to a BLT cheeseburger. I asked if the beef was fresh or frozen and was told frozen. I ordered the burger medium-well. I asked how the mac and cheese was and was told it was good. We waited a reasonable length of time for our lunch (my wife and I were splitting it). When the burger came, it was dried out and well done (not medium well) and was just a bit warmer than luke warm. The mac and cheese was barely warmer than room temperature. Not only that, but it lousy mac and cheese. My wife loves mac and cheese and even she didn't like it. The pickled pepper would have been a nice touch if it tasted good. The cashier didn't get it when I pointed out that the cheese steak I'd paid for was more expensive than the burger. I'd have thought she'd give me a little discount on a cookie or muffin. She just said, it's ok. Won't bother going back. read more

Great set up that caters to a variety of individuals taste. The set up is an open concept with couches, high tops and tables - you are sure to find a comfortable seat, and enjoy a delicious coffee and meal. What can I say?!?! When I travel with another person I usually get to try at least two items. My girlfriend couldn't go on this trip but I ordered a sandwich and a salmon bagel anyway. Unfortunately for me they were both so good I had to finish both. The salmon bagel with dill cream cheese was one of the best I've ever had. My husband and I were looking for a breakfast cafe for our anniversary while visiting St. Augustine. We arrived and ordered our food 2 hours before our scheduled plans, before a massive rush of people. While patiently waiting for our food, two tables who had arrived after us received their food before us. We had already received our beverages and waited an hour at that point. I met a friend here for breakfast today and really enjoyed my experience overall. I can't eat dairy, so I got their vegan breakfast bagel (tofu scrambled eggs, arugula, bbq mushrooms and more on a vegan everything bagel) and an iced coffee. The bagel meal was delicious - would definitely order it again. The iced coffee was average; not the best I've ever had, but still hit the spot. The server/cashier was friendly and helpful in navigating there menu. When I asked about vegan baked goods, he explained that he usually does their vegan baking but that their oven was currently broken so they didn't have any available. Even though you order at the counter, they do bring your food out to your table once you're comfortable and seated. In sum: super cute atmosphere, delicious (vegan-friendly) food, decent coffee, friendly service. I was initially skeptical based upon how many gluten free and vegan options they offered. Tofu "eggs"? And while I know you can make cinnamon rolls without dairy, I find the tag of "vegan" cinnamon rolls generally unappealing (admittedly, I was tempted, because they look really delicious). But good news! They have gluten filled and a vast array of omnivore friendly things. I've been stopping in the morning when I have some extra time to grab a bite to eat. The breakfast sandwich, is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've put into my mouth. The ciabatta bread is delightfully chewy. The eggs are nicely salted and over medium. They mustard the bread which is kind of unusual, but always a nice surprise. The only thing the sandwich needs is Chalula, which I am happy to supply myself (hot sauce in my bag, swag). I also had the salmon bagel, which is really tasty -- but incredibly messy to eat. It's the perfect lox and bagel combination. But what compelled me to write a review was the ranchero bowl. Homestyle potatoes covered in cheese, with an amazing roasted corn and black bean salsa, cherry tomatoes, homemade sausage and two sunnyside up eggs over medium. It was a huge amount of food and I shouldn't have eaten the whole thing, but I did. It was so amazingly delicious. I am also tickled by the fact I can order an iced tea in ... get this ... ANY flavor. It takes a little longer, they steep a tea and then serve it over ice. My manfriend tried to order the breakfast burrito one day, but he was corrected by one of the staff "it's a wrap because it doesn't have salsa in it." Uhh... It's wrapped in a tortilla and served with salsa. So you might encounter some smugness when you are told they don't have lettuce, they only have arugula (... which is a lettuce). Don't let the slight dose of snobbishness deter you, the food is worth it. It's near the McDonald's and totally worth it if you have an extra 10-15 minutes to spare. But I was told it was great by a tough critic ;) I had a breakfast wrap. The sausage was incredible. Full of flavor and a big wrap it was. Came with salsa and some Rocket leaves and pickled onions and jalapeños . All the dishes were presented beautifully. We also had three Cappuccino's. They were great. No one wiped them down and the humidity probably didn't help. Also, the ketchup bottle on the table was gross - super greasy. Those should be wiped down regularly also.
