Got their breakfast sandwich with an unsweetened tea and was pleasantly surprised they had gf bread! The sandwich was simple and light and the turkey sausage patty had just a hint of spice. The aioli was a smooth compliment. Loved the iced tea , and yes I drink it unsweetened or as they put it "the wrong way". Its flavor was fresh and clean; something I'll definitely swing by and get again. The staff was very sweet, even taking my order as they were closing. My family and I stopped here for breakfast before we hit the road. We were pleased to know that this is close to downtown Saint Augustine and there is ample parking in front of the restaurant. When we arrived, there is an immediate cashier where you can order first and then sit down. There was plenty of room for smaller parties or larger parties. This is definitely more of a quick breakfast diner feel. Unfortunately, the espresso machine was broken so we have the op in for iced coffee, which was disappointing overall the food was average. The menu has breakfast plates and bowls, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, bagels, and kid size breakfast options. For lunch, they have nine sandwiches, six burgers, one bowl and one salad. I opted for the Ranchero Bowl. It contained sausage, roasted garlic potato hash, cheddar jack cheese, black bean and corn salsa, and two scrambled eggs. It was a good size portion. We came for breakfast because of the real good yelp reviews. The place is very spacious. The Ranchero Bowl and coffee was very good. The staff had great attitudes. I can only suggest if you're asking for an 18,20 or 25% tip after you pay you should not have to go in line to order. No water being brought to you or anywhere to be seen. This place was right around the corner from our Aironb and looked like a cool local place to eat breakfast before we started our day. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. First there was the 4% "convenience" fee added to all cards. Credit card processing fees are a cost of doing business and should be accounted for in pricing not just passed to the customer. Next, tap water was not an option. You had to purchase bottles of water. The food itself was fine but nothing to go back for. I had a breakfast wrap with potatoes. Lastly the table we were at was so sticky everything, napkins, the plastic silverware, fingers, stuck to it. I felt the other tables they were fine but not ours, the large high top near the register. They also have a tipping option for no table service, on top of the convenience fee. I get the impression the place isn't managed well. Was so excited to finally make it here. They sit right on US1 between 2 other breakfast places. They have their own small parking lot. They advertise locally sourced fresh ingredients. However, upon our arrival on Sunday morning of all times, excited for a wonderful breakfast, we saw a handwritten sign on the door that the menu was limited to only sandwhiches. Now I don't typically order breakfast sandwiches when I go out to breakfast but we chose to stay. Sadly I saw others leave as this was not their plan either. I ordered the breakfast sandwhich with bacon it comes on ciabatta bread. It says 2 eggs, white American, I added bacon, and Kchn aioli. I will tell you clearly the aioli is Dejon mustard based so if you don't like this flavor put it on the side to try or not at all. It does have the lil Dejon zing. I chose the side of cheesy grits. My husband got the same thing but chose his side of potatoes. Well..that sandwich was delicious!!! Omg and that ciabatta was glorious and not too dry or overwhelming for the sandwich. Like slightly toasted & pressed maybe. The cheesy grits were not overwhelming with cheese like a lot of places do. Just enough mixed in & I'm guessing here, maybe one of the spices/herbs could be a little bit of dried basil but don't quote me. My husband's potatoes were cut small with no onions!!! Yay!! And they were soooo good. Not greasy and crispy on edges and tasty not dry. They're cut very small. The lady working was so kind to bring our food out on lovely decorative hard plastic plates and offered us a refill on our iced coffee. Arrived on a Monday around noon and found it to be very quirt. We were able to order promptly and took a seat at one of the open tables. They have several large tables so this is a great place if you have a large party. It is self seating and they do have a private lot although it is small. My husband chose the breakfast sandwich with sausage and got their cheese grits as his side. He really like the sandwich and said the sausage Patty was really good. I opted for the breakfast wrap with sausage and the red potatoes as my side. The sausage is really good and love that they use a Monterey Jack cheese! I used to stop in this place when on business trips to St. Augustine a few years ago and it was a different restaurant. I loved the food to table concept with vegetarian options for a quick lunch. I tried the new spot last week that has a very similar concept but the food was awful. I seriously felt sick for days after eating here. I had the tomato soup, which was horrible. I ate two bites and was done. I also had the grilled cheese sandwich that was so greasy and barely edible. It took at least 20 minutes for these two simple items and both were bad. It is a fast casual place, which I don't prefer , but sometimes for a quick lunch place, those work. You order at the counter and find a spot. But I would expect someone to check in on me after serving the food. I did leave a tip. Nope, not happening here. I was one of only three tables as it was late afternoon. However, breakfast sandwhiches are served all day I ordered two one with ham the other with bacon. Def made to order because it took a while to come out. On the side of the samdwhich it was a little too packed with meat for me. The ham was salty, and my egg could have been cooked more, I can do without the yolk. My daughter had no quams on her bacon sandwhich. We both got potatoes as our side. Now the potatoes were Stellar!!' Seasoned to perfection! It was a race who was finishing faster. To drink I ordered a cappucchino with hazelnut not too sweet, they nailed that. My daughter ordered the hot chocolte I took a sip and it was super good! All in all total bill was $33 and some change. Felt it to be a bit steep for the dishes I ordered (can make these at home) , but we are new to the area and have driven by quite a few times so I wanted to give it a shot. Next time I may just come in for coffee. As far as ambiance it is quiet great place to sit and do homework, work on proposals, or come and read. Awwww I loved this place! We stayed at a hotel very close and walked over in the morning for some breakfast, walking up it's very cute and set up like a small market with an outdoor patio too. We ordered breakfast at the counter then they bring the food to you, we sat out on the patio which was nice and covered. The food came out soon and all the little touches were great, my daughter's cereal plate had the cutest milk jug and fruit with it, my MIL egg plate looked great but my Farmhouse bagel sandwich was excellent!! It was just perfect, the bagel wasn't too bready, egg, cheese, sausage with a spicy sweet jam...with some arugula and pico on the side, all combined together it made the perfect sandwich! I loved it! We decided to try this place for breakfast since it is across the street from Days Inn, and we had already tried Denny's. This is not a table service place. You order at the register, they give you a number, and they bring your order to you. One thing that is deceptive is that they fail to tell you until you pay and review your receipt that they charge patrons 4% for using a credit or debit card. This shows me that this place will nickel and dime customers. This is a shady and unwelcome business practice. First of all, if they are going to charge customers for using a credit card, they should tell them upfront before ordering so they have the option to pay with cash. Accepting a credit card as payment is the cost of doing business; don't pass your business-related expenses onto customers. We are no longer in a pandemic, and supply chain issues have mostly been resolved. This practice forfeits any tips left to the cashier because the restaurant is passing a business expense to the customer. They also don't have table service, so a tip shouldn't be expected; it is no different from going to McDonald's, and McDonald's doesn't charge customers to use a credit card as payment. The prices at this place are already expensive. A breakfast sandwich and a side of potatoes are $11.99, and the Farmer's Breakfast is $13.99. Then, they want to charge 4% to use a card and expect a tip for a place that doesn't offer table service. They should just raise their prices 4% instead of nickel-and-diming the customers. This restaurant also charges 25 cents for a cup of tap water. Who does that????!!!!???? It's totally ridiculous! They charge for water that they get from the actual kitchen sink. Another thing I noticed is that the ladies restroom had no toilet paper in the dispenser and needed attention. They also did not have a reserve roll anywhere. I had to grab the paper hand towels from the sink. This proves that they do not properly stock or, at a minimum, check their restrooms. This was mid-morning so the restroom should not have run out of toilet paper that fast unless it was not checked in the first place. I do not recommend this restaurant based on the expensive prices, charging for kitchen sink tap water, operating cheaply, and nickel-and-diming customers. Customers get much better value for their money going to the Village Inn or Denny's, and customers are not charged for water. This is the first and only time we will patronize this establishment. Response to the Manager: I am sorry that your feelings are hurt from my honest opinion of my experience at your restaurant. Maybe the reason why the other restaurantt franchises have multiple locations operating is that they have customer loyalty and a success rate level that you don't have at your only location. An examplee would be how to give customers value for their money instead of taking advantage and leaving customers with a negative impression of your restaurant. Please obtain a proper business education and learn how to operate a restaurant properly instead of making excuses for your incompetence. If you are short-staffed, you need to pay your staff more instead of being as cheap as you are with your customers. We came in mid-morning, as stated in my original post. The toilet paper was out before the morning that I visited, so stop with the excuses and maintain your facilities. Grow up, have some integrity, and learn from your mistakes. If you do not want to run a restaurant properly and just do the bare minimum, then get out of the business. I would not be surprised if you shut your doors permanently within the next 12 months because you do not have a clue what you are doing. I will make sure to tell my friends and coworkers to avoid your restaurant. read more
