Farmacy is a really cute vegan restaurant in Notting Hill Close to Chepstow Road, that is perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They really focus on the quality of their ingredients, which are grown in their farm with passion and love. I discovered this amazing restaurant a long time ago when I was living in the area. Farmacy is the perfect place for a Sunday boozy brunch as they have a very refined collection of signature cocktails. Farmacy has become renowned for its innovative, nutritionally curated and delicious organic dishes, as well as its exciting array of choice plant-based comfort foods. Labelled as the 'friendly face' of plant-based eating in London - Farmacy champions our belief that 'food is medicine' and supports local, organic & biodynamic farming.
I tried so many dishes from their menu that it will be difficult to remember everything!
The loaded nachos filled with all the good stuff are life: guac, jalapeños, hummus, black bean pate and spicy sauce. Their chickpea quesadillas are thick and fluffy, like savoury pancakes with a cashew nut spread on the side, that tastes like heaven. The mac n cheese is so yummy you won't even miss the real thing, they are the ideal comfort food during those cold and rainy days!
Last time I went to Farmacy, I had the Breakfast burrito with patatas bravas and BBQ sauce on the side. It was a really simple dish, but very filling and comforting. I like their food philosophy, because even if I eat out, I don't feel guilty at all, it's like cooking at home but with amazing results (yeah, Italian person with no cooking skills over here..). The burrito is filled with avocado, black eyed beans, red cabbage, and wild rice. I like the fact they slightly grilled the sweet potato tortilla, so the filling wouldn't slip out at each bite. The potatoes were roasted to perfection and the sauce on top was delicious, it brought me back to my wild times in Madrid, when my young and broke ass self would always go eating at 100 Montaditos, a Spanish chain where you could have the most sugary tinto de verano and any small sandwich filled with tapas with crisps for like one euro. Good old days.
If you are seeing a non alcoholic drink in this post, most probably it's because I was in a hangover from drinking too much the night before. Trust me, their drinks are amazing!
I ordered a coconut chai latte and my taste buds couldn't believe themselves. I can say with my eyes closed, that is the best chai latte I have had in my entire life. It was soothing and soft, delicate like an angel. It was slightly sweet with a hint of cinnamon and super comforting. A drink that puts you in a good mood and makes you ready to face any Monday.
If you are craving a burger, be mentally prepared... they have a mushroom, walnut, and beetroot burger, it's not a beyond or impossible burger. You eat it, you are fully aware you have a patty made of veggies. But it's ok, because it is definitely a healthier option than those really processed competitors. The burger was ok, maybe a little bit dry, but luckily it comes with with a sauce (I am pretty sure it's the patatas bravas sauce), goji berry ketchup, and beetroot pickled onions, so you might want to add them a little bit in your burger to make it tastier. The sweet potato fries are really good though! I am a sucker for them so I can't really give a neutral opinion.
The protein omelette is made of chickpea flour and it reminded me a lot of their quesadillas, but in a thinner version. It's stuffed with roasted butternut squash, avocado, seasonal greens, and harissa and it comes with paprika tahini sauce. Again, really simple yet delicious and super filling, the perfect dish if you want to eat vegan but cut on carbs. read more
