    Vegetarian English Breakfast

We were taking a stroll down Portobello looking for a bite to eat on Christmas Eve. Most of the usual food vendors were closed and then the urge for a full English took us over. Popped into the electric not sure what to expect, but it looked busy and hoped for the best. Within minutes we were sat and our orders were placed, full English and a veggie full English. I'm not a vegetarian, but also not a fan of black pudding or English bacon. My amazing husband asked to swap out his black pudding for an additional rasher of sausage which I gladly gobbled up. Granted I was super hungry after just flying from the states but this food was ridiculously good. The mushrooms and tomatoes were amazing and delicious considering it's December, heck even the spinach was amazing and it's hard to make spinach amazing. The eggs were perfect and tasted local. I'm laughing out loud because I've talked about how good the jam that was for the past three days. The strawberry flavor was overwhelming and amazing. The marmalade was lovely as well. From the service to the drinks to the food and price we will definitely be back!

Terrific English breakfast, wonderfully crispy hash browns, and a delectable smoked salmon! The diner has a great old school underground feel. Attractive staff and attentive service.

We were staying in Lancaster gate and having not had a good breakfast in over a week traveling around, we really wanted a delicious spot to start our day. Electric Diner did not disappoint! We came in contact with several staff members who seem to all work together to make the experience lovely. The coffee was tasty and came out pretty and quickly. We ended up sharing the eggs Benedict, French toast and hash browns. Although too much food, everything was so delicious we couldn't stop eating. I'd say this was one of the best meals I'd had in Europe over a 10 day period, we'd definitely be back next time we're in London.

Visiting the Portobello Market for the first time. Needed something to eat (quick) before we end up buying every food item for sale at the market. The Full English Breakfast hits the spot. One of the best I've had. Fried eggs, blood pudding, sausages, bacon, grilled Portobello mushroom, grilled tomato, and toast! Priced at $13 - for the location and customer base, it is to be expected but the awesome taste was extra treat. The service was fast and friendly. For a Saturday morning with plenty of in out traffic, the staff members did a great job! The atmosphere has a warm and inviting vibe. We were so glad we took the advice of the barista at Amoret to eat here.

I was excited to try this diner as I was craving American food and read great reviews. My friend arrived early to get us a table and so by the time I arrived it should have been a ten minute wait. Instead it was 30 minutes plus! We saw others get seated at the window, bar and a big table that was reserved. Finally we got the table and waited another ten minutes to take our order. The waiter saw us but was apparently slammed with other tables. Once we ordered we had to ask twice for tap water. At long last our food arrived and my single cheeseburger was actually a double. I was too hungry to send it back and decided to chow down! Food was decent. Nothing special about my burger with just cheese and pickles. No lettuce or tomato and anything else would have cost extra. Fries were good and plenty. My friend was also hungry to eat her vegetarian breakfast, a hearty meal although a steep price. I don't feel the burger was worth £14 without fries. The shake was good but also not £7 worth. Ridiculous prices for a tourist location with terrible service. There are far better diners and burgers in the city.

(delayed review) Went to London for thanksgiving and was so delighted to find the electric diner to celebrate at! The standard thanksgiving menu they had was everything I could have wanted and more. And gave ya the perfect reason to explore the notting hill neighborhood. A very fun atmosphere, connected to an old movie theatre. They allowed us to make a reservation and the staff was friendly and accommodating to us Americans who were celebrating abroad. Their standard menu looked delicious and I'd like to go back if I ever return to London!

I overestimated the time it would take to get from Point A to Point B & arrived a full 25 minutes early for our showtime at Electric Cinema. We spent those extra moments indulging in French onion soup & Fries Au Cheval at Electric Diner's bar. Satisfyingly rich & fatty comestibles. Love the idea of fries accompanied by mornay, an egg, & aioli. 3.75 stars for food. Electric Diner is a happening place! Speak loudly to get your order across & enjoy the chaotic, but organized dance of the cooks behind the bar if you're seated there. This busy energy unfortunately translated into some confusion in their service. There was a lag in all things from ordering to getting the bill. We asked for to-go containers & my fries were placed in a container not suitable for takeout. Meh, would consider returning knowing i'd have to carve out more than a half an hour for a meal here.

First off, let's get one thing out of the way... I LOVE BRUNCH!! Honestly, this had to have been one of the best meals I've had in London, and the fact that it was brunch and I was drinking made it all the more better. A classmate of mine invited me out to brunch and decided to take me here since I've never been to Notting Hill before. Located right next to the Electric Cinema is this place, and renamed it Electric Diner. Apparently, there was a fire and they had to close for a while but are now reopened. Funny story about that to follow... So, we started off with drinks. My friend ordered the Bloody Mary and I ordered the Horse's Back since I don't like Bloody Mary's. When the BM arrived at the table, I was like "DAMNNNNNNNN!" That drink was so beautiful... artfully crafted to perfection, and garnished with a bazillion pickles on top. Of course I tried it, and I thought it was really good. Never liked a BM until this one, true story. My Horse's Back wasn't bad, super strong and had a kick to it, especially being the first thing that entered my stomach for the day. As for the food, I was really impressed with my dish, simply called open-faced ham, cheese fondue, and fried egg. I gobbled it all up because it was so amazing. My friend ordered the ham steak and green eggs which also looked good. Seriously, I'm coming back here for brunch, it's SOOOO GOOD! So, during our meal the fire alarm kept going off. Sort of getting in the way of our lovely meal, but it wasn't really that big of a deal. Eventually, management came over and apologized and politely kicked us out because they had to do an inspection. Oh, but what else? They told us the meal was taken care of. A FREEEEEE MEAL?!!! Hell yeah! Score! Touchdown! Victory danceeeee, babyyyyy. YUP. We were TWO happy brunchers. And yup, we'll be back for more soon.

Nested in the heart of Portabello this place has a very cool vibe, great spot to take a break when hitting up the markets! The eggs Florentine was delicious but be sure to get a side of hash browns to share the portion is quite large and the bacon, it's to die for!

So make sure and have napkins handy. My husband had the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich while I had the cheeseburger for breakfast since the "slut" specialty sandwich wasn't available. My husband said his sandwich reminded him of one his mom used to make at home growing up, which is a lovely sign. Mine was a slightly above an average burger with a touch of dijonnaise and pickles. We also had a side of the truffle hash browns and they were great! Just a classic, crispy hash brown with a hint of truffle flavor. I hope to try another sandwich before my trip ends. Almost never-ending long and there is barely any seating upstairs or downstairs but never fear because outside directly infant of the store also has no seating lol My husband and I crossed the street after getting our food and sat on the benches outside. We absolutely loved every aspect of the meal. The sandwiches were filling and jammed packed with flavor. The price was average for the area and the hash browns are the best I have ever tasted. So, I just went to Tinseltown, out of a craving for awesome dirty burgers. Don't do it. Let me be…read morean example to you! We walked in and people looked confused as to why we were there. We figured they were pretty busy so that was okay; we were conducted up two flights of stairs, navigating our way through sullen teenage servers. We naively ordered nachos to share to start, and a burger each (more on this later). A few minutes later, the sullen, vampiric Polish teenager who was serving us returned to mumble that they had no nachos. What kind of diner runs out of nachos, for god's sake?! But we said it was okay and just chose to not have a starter. She shuffled away, still angry at something we weren't sure about. My husband ordered the "Fired up double Cajun chicken burger" (3/3 peppers on the hot scale) and I ordered the "Vegetable cheese burger". Food shows up and....we started laughing in a rather unhinged manner. Because when I say "food" I am being quite generous. Now, I'm a lover of delicious dirty American food, but this was not American and it was really just dirty, not delicious. Fired up double Cajun chicken burger: two tiny, dry little pieces of meat. The 3/3 peppers of hotness were a joke, as husband described the spiciness of this burger as "well I guess it's sort of tangy?" And he's not someone who normally orders spicy food... I don't know what his burger would look like if he had ordered a single, because with the 'double' burger, the meat barely covered the bun! Veggie cheese burger: now, I'm pretty sure the menu described it as charbroiled, but when it showed up, it was a weird, cold mess. The menu says: "A deep vegetable patty served in a toasted sesame bun with crispy lettuce, sliced tomato, crispy fried onion and Tinseltown sauce." Crispy lettuce: two wilted baby leaves that didn't cover the bun. Tomato: one slimy, small slice. Sauce: one tiny dollop that I couldn't taste. Fries: white and soggy. Burger patty: breaded, cold, basically a badly microwaved Sainsburys patty. Cheese: tasted a bit like stale feet and had not melted, due to the cold patty. I asked for some mayo to put on the burger (since it was dry and cold) and was told by the sullen vampire girl that they don't have plain mayo. Who doesn't have mayo?! They have garlic mayo...but that must come out of a tub. When I bit into the burger I had a bit of a fright. You won't guess what it was made of...mashed potato! It was breaded/fried mashed potato with some corn and peas in it. I've eaten a lot of veggie burgers in my life, but dear god. That was a first. A potato burger...with chips. Nightmare! We wisely decided to not have dessert, paid our bill, and got the hell out of there. So please, I beg you. Do not eat here!
