Special English Breakfast. Pretty large portion!

We had their special and veggie english breakfasts. Good food and nice portions too! They are conveniently located right across from The Nothing Hill bookshop. Service is hit and miss!

Great spot for a hearty breakfast on the weekend. We luckily snagged the last table and did not have to wait in line. They have a couple of tables outside so you can people watch and enjoy the weather...when it isn't raining. Staff is friendly and efficient. Portions were huge too. We tried the Special which included eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast as well as a ham, cheese, and mushroom omelette. We also ordered the hash browns and some fresh squeezed orange juice. Good food at very reasonable prices.

An amazing spot for Sunday brunch! The English Breakfast included everything I wanted and there are fantastic vegetarian options as well. The service here was also amazing. We were quickly seated by the staff and were checked upon during our meal. Mr. Mike himself was at the restaurant greeting customers as well. Overall an amazing experience with great food for a great price in Notting Hill. Highly recommend, we were very well fed.

I came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. It also crowded but I got seated immediately. I had the Big Boy breakfast combo. You get to pick six items off the breakfast menu, and it comes with an orange juice, coffee or tea for £9.95. I think it as incredibly reasonable for the neighborhood. The service was also good. It was a great place to be after spending the majority of the day shopping at Portobello Road market. I highly recommend this place for brunch. Plus - they take card, which is great for tourists like me! Also - free WiFi!!

I stopped in here on a rainy afternoon as I hadn't eaten breakfast yet and found this place on yelp. I don't eat meat normally and the meat portion of an English breakfast will go to waste on me. However this place allows you to build your own breakfast from one item at £2.10 to six items at £7.70. The service was friendly, and quick. It was very cozy as there was a working fireplace in the dining room. It was decorated with exposed brick and toile wallpaper. I sat next to the window so that I could people watch. What a perfect English breakfast experience for this American.

Loved it! We were a group of 5 and arriving at peak hour they were efficient at seating us almost immediately - it was packed but they were not pushy - very friendly! We ordered the Big Boy which is the full English bfast but with a choice of 6 items for a steal 10.95£! We also had Eggs Benedict and Pancakes. Everything was done just right - loved it!

We did it! We found the best brunch place!!! Even at the busiest hour in Saturday morning we were served RAPIDLY and when we were finished with our food the plates disappeared as quickly as they came. Our coffees were the best Ive had, strong and short. Food was huge and delicious. Brown sauce was not HP and was delicious. Freshly squeezed OJ. And thanks to having the table next to fireplace I was able to taste roasted marshmellows for the first time!!!!

Mike's Cafe is great for the morning after a heavy night- their full English breakfast is great value at £6.95 (including drink) and will definitely help cure your hangover. I love sitting outside and watching the weird and wonderful walk by but be prepared to queue as this place gets very very busy at the weekends! Still worth the wait though!

So make sure and have napkins handy. My husband had the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich while I had the cheeseburger for breakfast since the "slut" specialty sandwich wasn't available. My husband said his sandwich reminded him of one his mom used to make at home growing up, which is a lovely sign. Mine was a slightly above an average burger with a touch of dijonnaise and pickles. We also had a side of the truffle hash browns and they were great! Just a classic, crispy hash brown with a hint of truffle flavor. I hope to try another sandwich before my trip ends. Almost never-ending long and there is barely any seating upstairs or downstairs but never fear because outside directly infant of the store also has no seating lol My husband and I crossed the street after getting our food and sat on the benches outside. We absolutely loved every aspect of the meal. The sandwiches were filling and jammed packed with flavor. The price was average for the area and the hash browns are the best I have ever tasted. I cannot wait until I visit Egg Slut again

Things were looking promising when I saw a vegetarian breakfast offered in lieu of the traditional English breakfast. I was drawn to the dish because it offered spinach and hash browns in lieu of all the meat in its partner dish. My friend ordered the regular Full English and her dish came out well before mine. I waited roughly 10-15 minutes longer for something that would appear to take less cook time. The plate came out and I noticed there was no spinach. I was not offered a choice as a substitute nor made aware of the situation. Long story short I ended up ordering the Full English and they forgot my black pudding. Waited additional time for that as well. Then they forgot I asked for the bill. Overall, I would not recommend it, especially if you're on a time schedule and multiple mishaps occurred. No cash accepted and 12.5% service charge automatically added to the final bill with the usual VAT.

We're quite proud of our coffee scene, and Butter Bakery could beat out most of the options in Portland. I had an oat milk latte and an americano, plus a few food items. Let's start with the americano. Now, I'll admit, I'm not the most skilled barista. I have some sense of how to pull a shot of espresso, but I'm not brilliant at it. With that as context: I do not exaggerate when I say there was more of that delicious creamy head on the americano than I've managed on some straight shots I've pulled. The espresso roast was subtle and sweet -- I waited too long to write this review, so I couldn't cite precise notes, but this is definitely a roast I could enjoy sipping on and slowly analyzing, while still being very approachable. The americano was perhaps a tiny hair more diluted than I would have liked, but it didn't quite reach "watery" either. I choose to see this as a deliberate choice to further open up the profile of the espresso. The oat latte was expertly foamed, with the right amount of oat milk so as not to overwhelm the espresso. It was on the dry side, almost a cappuccino, which is exactly what I prefer in a latte (if I wanted a cortado, I'd ask for a cortado). I don't know which oat milk they use, but it was sweet and creamy and simple and complemented the espresso beautifully. There's also a food menu that, while not hugely extensive, is packed full of gems. I very much enjoyed the pesto mozzarella tomato panini with extremely its fresh ingredients. It's about the size you'd expect for a cafe panini, and thus a bit more expensive than I'm comfortable with, but I'll chalk that up to the location -- compared with other local options, Butter Bakery Bar and Cafe is absolutely a contender for a budget lunch. Lastly, I'll just mention: I did not try the Mediterranean mains options, so I can't speak to their quality, but seeing things like mezze on a cafe menu is a nice change of pace.
