kiri hodi sri lankan spiced coconut curry, sweet potato & green bean pilau, toasted cashew sev, rainbow pickles, mint coriander chutney
    Mimi V.

I visit Mildred's every time I visit London and it never disappoints! The small plate braised cabbage had such a lovely texture and the fried shallots gave it a nice crunch, a dish packed with flavor. The small plate arancini rossi was amazing! I typically don't like mushroom but I would order this over and over again. The kimchi bokkeumbap was my favorite out of the two larger dishes. There was a nice spice due to the gochujang and kimchi. Would definitely reorder. The kiri hodi was yummy and the mint chutney was a great part of the dish! I order the bread as an extra but the name is missing me, ask the waitress and they can let you know! It goes great with the curry. The ambiance is always nice! It's so pretty on the inside, I highly recommend snapping a couple of photos. Oh! They also currently have a Veganuary menu

Mildreds was one of the first vegan restaurants I went to in London when I first visited the city in 2017 and it will be a place I return to every time I am there! They make amazing and creative vegan dishes with thoughtfully-prepared ingredients (roasted artichokes in a kale Caesar salad are *chef's kiss*), and their cocktail offerings are *superb*! Plus, the people working there are always very kind and fun. Would recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike!

I've been to Mildred's in Kings Cross a couple times now and have had great experiences, and most importantly, delicious food! This location is conveniently just a short walk from the station area. It's got a lot of seating inside, as well as a small outdoor patio. The staff are very attentive and helpful in recommending items if you're having trouble choosing. They have a quite large selection of drinks to choose from, everything from beer to wine to cocktails and mocktails. My partner really enjoyed two of the latter. I personally had the Soho pale both times, and as the can states, it does go great with food. Speaking of which, the portions and flavours are ample. I've either had or tried the bibimbap bowl, korean burger, nachos, and bangers and mash. Really, everything was quite lovely, though I think I was most partial to the burgers and bangers. Will definitely comeback when I'm next in town, or maybe check out some of their many other locations.

    Classic brunch

Extremely high-quality, creative, all-vegan restaurant that is sure to satisfy. We stopped in for lunch after arriving into town, as it's super close to King's Cross station. The place is beautifully set up, with a nice outside seating area as well. They have an expansive menu, including some nice brunch items if you visit on a weekend before 3pm. So my wife ordered their classic brunch and I ordered their thali brunch (£14 each). We were both super impressed with everything about each of our meals. Each item was thoughtfully designed and all the items went well together. We finished off the meal with a S'nickers fudge cake (£7) to split, which was pretty delectable. Top-notch service, great environment, and excellent food. What more could you ask for? It's a little pricy but for the quality of the food and overall experience, it's worth it. Highly recommended.

Literal Flavourtown. I usually order a burger at a vegan restaurant but if you're like me, force yourself to try something new here -- esp the sweet potato curry. The staff was nice to let me add a side of fried tofu to my meal for an extra price ($5/£2.50ish). The cappuccino with almond milk was nice to have before the meal. Curry was amazing! This was the first time I've had a large lemon peel cooked into the meal so I had to google whether this was garnish or safe to eat! it was fantastic though

Very good vegan/vegetarian restaurant that serves dishes from different cultures. I saw burritos, falafels, and curry along with takes on traditional British fares on the menu. The place was busy on a Sunday night with only seats available at the bar when I came by. It looked like different parties were sharing tables in the dining room also. The vibe combined with the diner felt like a Hipster diner. The crowd was mostly people in their twenties that could pass for being university students. The place looked like a modern hipster diner. The food itself was pretty good. I ordered the wild mushroom pie which looked like mushroom soup between two pastry puffs and came with mashed peas and Belgian-cut fries. The food was tasty without a hint of spice which I found common this area. Prices seemed higher than what I can get home but we are in London. There is also a 12.5% optional service charge that comes with the bill. The service was quick and straight like a diner, almost to the point of fast food.

"Brownie" is too belittling a word to describe this!

Mildreds, where have you been in my life? I'd never heard of this place until a London friend who is (obviously) more veggie-savvy than me took me there for dinner. What a fantastic menu - sooo many yummy things! After much soul-searching, I decided to try the Tokyo bowl with black rice, purple pickled egg, miso-glazed aubergine and edamame. Now aubergine is my least favourite vegetable, but hey, let's broaden our horizons a little, shall we? Or maybe it was the idea of eating purple and black food? Well, I wasn't disappointed. I don't know if it was the miso glaze or the ginger and spring onions, but this aubergine was a hit in my book! It looked so delicious that I completely forgot about taking a picture to upload. There was just enough room for dessert, so I opted for the dark chocolate brownie with caramel sauce, which as a bonus comes with vegan ice cream - huzzah! Let me tell you, "brownie" is too insufficient a word to describe this slab of crumbly chocolatey taste sensation. Just divine. Full marks from me - this place is definitely going on my London favourites list.

    Crème Brûlée

Truly delicious as usual. And I wasn't disappointed by the Crème Brûlée as the last couple of visits I've been seduced away by their next level pancakes. Well worth the wait.

The tofu burger was my favorite. The patty was delicious and I'm still trying to figure out how they can make tofu taste so good. It was juicy, and had a nice balance of flavors. This restaurant is more spacious than the other location in Soho. They have communal style tables for large groups, and outdoor seating for when the weather is tolerable. Nice ambiance and good music. We stopped by on a rainy day and had a late lunch by the bar since we did not want to wait for a table. Staff were polite and attentive. Great place for a quick vegan lunch if your in the area. They even have a full bar, however limited selection when it comes to beers!

Delicious vegan food. Yes that's right, I just wrote that sentence. Mildreds is able to pull off what carnivores fear most about eating vegetarian / vegan food, the taste! After dining here, you won't miss meat or go hungry at all. With a small restaurant, there is generally a wait at dinner time. However once your entire party arrives, you will be seated. Ambiance was a bit loud, as there are a few shared tables, so prepare to shout to hear the conversation. However, you won't feel crowded or pressed for space. Our party shared the gyoza and guacamole with corn chips. Guac and chips was pretty standard, salted. The gyoza was packed with such flavour that I thought it had pork in it but it was all vegetables. Great dipping sauce too. Then came the mains of a halloumi burger for my partner, which was thick and delicious. Loaded with cheesy goodness and sauces to dress up the burger. Sweet potato fries were also divine, cooked perfectly. I had the kimchi loaded noodle soup with thick, fried tofu and bok choy. The greens could have been cut as they were difficult to eat with chopsticks but everything else was a beautiful symphony. Absolutely satisfying. Lastly was the all-vegan pumpkin pie, which our table shared. Topped with a non-dairy whipped cream, it was smooth and delicious. We were all impressed! I would definitely return for another tasty meal, with or without a vegetarian at the table.

This place is so good! And they are absolutely lovey! Everything tasted amazing, I got the meatball pasta and a fresh baked cookie! I can't wait to come back

This place is awesome. I love the vibes and the food. The staff is super awesome and obviously everything is vegan (unless stated otherwise). I came here twice to try as much as I could and all of it was amazingly good. The soul bowl and fake chicken burger were for sure my favorite. The grilled artichoke was really good as well, though it was a little pricey for the small amount. I'll be back here for sure!

Virgin Mule at Mildreds, delicious and very gingery!

I was on the lookout for a vegan friendly restaurant and Mildreds was close by and came highly recommended. Apparently there is a big difference between the different branches, I've only ever been to this one though. I really enjoyed the food here, so many delicious choices and every dish is flavourful and fresh. I'd recommend sharing a selection of dishes as you get to sample a larger variety. Staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Definitely worth a visit!

The service was prompt between the drink and food orders with the server making sure we had what we needed during our stay. Recommended by our friend who met up with us for brunch, the Angel-based restaurant is lovely and easily walkable from the Angel Underground Station. The Angel Pate was a great starter and wicked tasty, also vegan friendly. The niche fried chicken was absolutely fabulous as was the truffle Mac and cheese. The marination and spiced coating were wicked delectable and the truffle Mac and cheese was to die for. We probably could have just ordered that and been fine. We also split the Glamorgan Potato Cake with a fried beer-battered (gluten free) onion ring was heavenly, made with plant-based cream cheese, leek, and spring onion. The sun-dried tomato and basil gnocchi was decent but the highlight was the potato cake. Man, how should I start…read more This is debatable the fact that it's a all you can eat vegetarian restaurant trying to promote no MSG, no animal product blah blah blah healthy-like shit. The oil they have on EVERY dish seems to start blocking my arteries the second I step out of the restaurant. I would always order a bowl of hot water and soak all my food into the water, to get rid of the oil, before I get the food near my mouth. They do have deliciously weird vegetarian food such as veggie duck, chicken, beef- basically, any vegetarian soy protein products you could name. I don't know how they cook their food, but even the prepared vegetables are soaked in oil. The sauces are soaked in oil, spring rolls are fried in lots of oil, simple vegetable dishes are all in oil oil oil! Its as if their cooking motto is "drench everything in oil". Oh, their soup is watery and tasteless. They also serve indian rolls, rice, and noodless- which many senseless people seem to like to load their stomach with. Fried seaweed is yummy. They do have fruits (finally something NOT in oil). Mostly green and red (ooo~ variety) apples, and pineapple, soaked in water. Unlimited refills are a plus if you could tolerate their grease level. I don't mind coming here once in a while for a guilty pleasure. And don't feel bad to ask them for some hot water and FILTER out their grease filled food before treating your arteries with another soon-to-set-on heart attack. The…read moreshtick here is that vegetarians and can enjoy Thai / Chinese cuisine to it's fullest extent, but instead of feeling the pangs of guilt from eating an animal, they get odd, fleshy, life-like bean curd / soya replicas. This concept is fine, and I don't want to appear to be one of those meat eating philistines that says "you don't eat meat so you can't have the shapes" (when have you ever seen a pig shaped like a sausage?); but for me there's something very sickening about how true to life these clones are. I can't touch the stuff without thinking "what the hell have they put in here?". Even when I was a vegetarian I was put off by this concept. Aside from this the food ranges from a selection of crispy seaweeds, crispy soya-duck, sweet and sour beef, and it tastes okay: better than some, not as bad as others. The service is polite and efficient, but I've never really been a fan of all you can eat buffet's: the head chef should really take the pride and responsibility to set your menus; you always feel awkward and rushed; and greed is never a charming attribute. There is something quite sterile and clunky about the environment here, and I tend to avoid Veg at all costs. Veg is a barrel of rather questionable cheap thrills, but then if it's cheap thrills (around £10 a pop eat in, and I presume even cheaper to take out) you're after, then go for it.
