As local Sparks businesses become more corporate, you know that you're supporting someone who lives and works in the community that we love. She also owns and runs "The Ranchhouse" adjacent to P&I which she revitalized as a local destination for great musical guests. Both businesses have a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's not a place where you are surrounded by random "barflies" who don't engage with others or bother you. It's friendly people, good drinks, great entertainment and even as a non-drinker, still a place to hang out with friends. It can get busy but you still won't feel "alone". Bounce between her adjacent establishments on a weekend during the shows or plant yourself in one spot and make some friends. Patrice will always make you feel like a friend she just hadn't met yet. And check out the decor! That's her too!

I am a professional bar fly and I wouldn't step foot in that place. It went from a grungy bar to a biker bar to an ECV bar. It is currently under new ownership and looking to change that reputation a bit. My husband and I ventured in this weekend to see if it is turning around and it does appear to be doing so, slowly but surely. The entire place seems cleaner and the lighting seemed brighter although still appropriate for a bar. The demographic of the clientele is improving and the bar staff as friendly and attentive. They had a country bad playing when we went and the sound quality was great. Not to quiet yet not overpowering. Drink prices are not bad. They have two pool tables that were in use and quiet a few tables with chairs facing the stage most of which were also in use. The bar itself is pretty long with what I would guess is about 15 seats or so. My biggest gripe about the place is and always has been that they don't have any windows. It feels like you are drinking in a closed up room which you are but it makes it really easy to loose track of time, but I guess that really boils down to personal responsibility. We did notice that the front door as a window now, which is nice. I think new ownership can continue to turn the place around and I look forward to popping in every once and awhile and checking out the changes and increasing stars!

So, to be clear, the listed karaoke time on the site was 9 pm. We showed up around 8:30 pm and were told the KJ didn't start until 10:30-ish. If it hadn't been for Eliza's wonderful personality and bartending, we would have left. The plush blue chairs look super inviting, and I can just imagine the fun times spent here hanging into the evening. Baristas are super friendly and the menu features all the faves from Reno, and then some! Here's the rub. It's hidden in a quiet corner of the best shopping center in all of Sparks. You've got CnC, Mountain Mike's, Smashin' Good Times, Paleteria del Angel, and Shang Hai restaurant all in the same spot, and you can have one helluva day just bouncing from one to the other.
