Wow! I'm already a huge fan of the Reno location, so when my travels took me to Sparks, I made it a point to stop by and check out the sister store! To say I was blown away is an understatement. It's still got the quintessential CnC charm and humor, but amped up to 10 with lifesize displays, larger murals, more merch and those vibes we all love about this place! The bar area got a massive plus up in Sparks, with a full cocktail program, craft beers, and lots of delightful NA options too. The plush blue chairs look super inviting, and I can just imagine the fun times spent here hanging into the evening. Baristas are super friendly and the menu features all the faves from Reno, and then some! Here's the rub. It's hidden in a quiet corner of the best shopping center in all of Sparks. You've got CnC, Mountain Mike's, Smashin' Good Times, Paleteria del Angel, and Shang Hai restaurant all in the same spot, and you can have one helluva day just bouncing from one to the other. Had a great time at Spider Punk concert! Came to support some friends and was pleasantly surprised with the venue! Great food options, many awesome of drink options as well! I came here to rock out and found myself enjoying a pulled pork sandwhich with a lavender soda which isn't very punk rock but the fuel definitely helped! Upon observation, I noticed old school arcade games, board games, comic books and many other things to make you enjoy your stay here. Staff is always friendly and welcoming and they always help me narrow down what I want when I can't narrow it down to what I want. Today i got the special for their redbull drink- a tropical mix with mango, coconut and dragonfruit. Both the morning drinks and the evening adult drinks are always fun and well made. What a cool place this is there's a little bit for everybody. They have a stage for events they also have a variety of cool games. They have some regular players come in and play dungeons and dragons and other sorts. They have a coffee section with all kinds of specialty coffees. they also have a separate section that have beer and wine and you could even make your own concoctions. We met Piper super helpful, very personable and we love the drink she made for us. We actually got a storm trooper frappe and made it with cold brew coffee. So Very good. I highly recommend this place. Great coffee shop with awesome drinks and cocktails! I recommend their Love Hashira (any Mitsuri Kanroji fans out there?), which is a matcha and strawberry frappé, as well as their Luck O' the Irish Coffee at the bar. This location has a weekly event going on, which is Cosplay Karaoke on Saturdays (you don't need to be in cosplay to participate!), and I always have fun whenever I go! They use the Karafun software, and if you don't know how to use it, simply find the poster with a QR code to browse their catalog of songs. They have a huge variety, from classic rock to Kpop, to the latest pop hits! They even have a few movie soundtracks you can sing to. Also, a close friend of mine, Piper, works at Coffee n Comics, and they have organized plenty of neat events, like Pride Week, as well as drag shows, and a few productions of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, in which I have been a part of. They also donated portions of the profits from these events to great causes, so please go to these events when you can! Give Piper a high five when you see them! read more

Every special event that I see put on by Coffee and Comics I try to be there. I saw there was a "maid cafe" and it sounded like a great Sunday funday afternoon activity. A friend and I met up there, and it took a bit to get in, but everyone was dressed up as some type of a maid which was super fun. There was coloring pages, anime themed, and depending on the package you ordered, in our case cocktails and food items. My only hope was that since this was a special event that there would be themed food and cocktail items. There was a dance performance, a raffle (which I won!), Sanrio trivia. I ordered a quiche which was amazing, and we started out with a dessert. They even had a fun photo opp at the end. I noticed everyone was picking one or two of the maids, when I asked to cram everyone in they were great sports. Had the best time! read more

I was wandering about and stopped in for a coffee drink. I had heard of this, but had no idea. This place is so cool! Funky, a bit nerdy (in a very good way), clean, and very welcoming. So much to see and browse. Great music and vibes here, and the coffee is great! They have a full bar that operates after 5, but some beers on tap are available with the extensive coffee menu. I've been to this location a handful of times and have always had a good experience. Location of venue: Plenty of parking, though it shares the parking lot as it is in a strip mall type of place. Depending on time of day, it can be difficult to access the parking lot, coming or going as there is the high school across the street. Venue: Has always been clean and tidy. Staff: Always friendly and eager to help, as well as make conversation while drinks were being made. Overall: Would recommend this venue. The hours are great and allow for after work meetings. This was my first time here. My bookclub used this location for their meet up this month. There is parking on site which I enjoy. Inside has a lot of space for seating. There is a full bar and there are some simple menu food items. I tried the avocado toast along with an ice coffee, cinnamon dolce flavored. It was good. There are board games available to play for free. Along the walls and shelves there is art and anime merchandise for sale. I was surprised to see they have a stage too. On Saturdays I believe they offer karaoke in the evening. I really enjoyed this location. It's such a vibe. I was surprised how much my food and drink was. For one item of food and a medium sized drink cost about 20 dollars. The woman that took my order was helpful and patient with me taking my order. When we first got there it was almost empty but it got busy quickly. It seems like the crowd comes in waves throughout the day. Definitely recommend checking out for a group meetup or studying alone. read more

From the lack of security to the lack of empathy from the owners and regulars in the midst of crisis, this establishment has proved that it is a thoroughly unsafe environment to occupy as both a worker and a customer. read more

The place was cool, clean, the ambiance is welcoming not hurried, and their customer service was adequate. A big plus is that their décor and game services are way cool. For those who drive, there's a large shopping center parking lot to park at. We had been to the Reno, Nevada Coffee N' Comics location several times for who doesn't like coffee and comics together and I like cool stuff. At that time the Reno location had a Military Veterans Discount so we reasonably assumed this Sparks location also has a Military Veterans Discount. They don't. Sadly, the wait person seemed to not even know what a Veteran is. I won't be back as I don't support a business that doesn't support the Military or we Veterans. (We Veterans are ONLY 7% of the population, and we Served for 100% of the population.) Disabled American Veterans "DAV" urges, "Businesses can and should support Veterans with an everyday publicly disclosed Veterans Discount and a complimentary meal for Veterans on Veterans Day. That is an acknowledgment of the business' support of Veterans, and it provides resources to ensure Veterans opportunity to participate in the American Dream that Veterans' sacrifices have made possible for all." I rate the Sparks, Nevada Coffee N' Comics location as a 3-star Ok according to the Yelp rating system. According to the Yelp ratings' definitions, Three Stars is "Ok". That to me is an acceptable rating of a business that does day in and day out what they are in business to do. It is certainly not a negative review. Four and Five-Stars to me is when a business goes over and beyond what they are in the business to do. Like having a Veterans Discount. Well this location is really nice And I love the idea that there's afar and food and stuff It's a clean location however the biggest disappointment I had was that there were hardly any comics. I mean I get it, books aren't the biggest seller in the world anymore I came in for some comics and some bags and boards The person there didn't seem to have a large quantity of bags and boards but handed me If you lose ones at a buck a piece. I also want to give them credit and say that the staff was friendly I just thought it would be more of a comic book shop rather than just Warhammer and magic cards. But I guess that's what's popular now. I understand the term comics means more than just comic books anymore but just want people out there to know what it is. I do plan on going back if I ever need magic the gathering or any of the figurine type stuff for gifts for others. :-) read more

This is such a cute place! I have been here twice once with a free coffee coupon and another with some close friends. Both times were great! The staff is so friendly and accommodating and the space is just amazing. I love how there is something for every type of fan! Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, whatever it is they most likely have it. Plus not only do they have coffee, they also sell alcohol!! A major plus! They have games you can play with your group as well. I always see people of all ages engaging in games and sharing time together. I will say that I would like more options for specialty coffee drinks. Some that aren't too wild with the ingredients (like too sweet). Last time I was there I did enjoy a cold brew with vanilla soft top and cocoa puffs! It definitely reminded me of the coffee drink from Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland. I thought it tasted great but could be a little stronger. Bar none my favorite place to go to in Sparks/Reno area. Drink selection is huge for both alcohol and non-alcohol customers. So many creative specials it is amazing. The people there are some of my best friends that I have grown to love after just being a local regular who supported this small business. There are many weekly events that take place with Coffee N Comics. Cosplay karaoke every Saturday is the highlight of my week each time. Said karaoke is also free entry for all patrons! Would highly recommend to everyone, local or just visiting. But in my opinion, what makes this place stand out is the community. In addition to the CnC staff, many other regulars have become some of my best friends as well. A few of them have even gone on to be professional colleagues I've networked with when I was in an "open to work" phase. This is a fantastic location for people to get together, nerd out about pop culture, play board games, drink with bros, sing karaoke, etc. There is just something for everyone. And it is super inclusive too. Many staff members and patrons are part of the LGBTQ & autistic communities, and we're all there to support one another. I have never seen something that brings a community together in almost every possible way. CnC will always get infinite stars from me. It is indicative of why I love Reno/Sparks so much. It played a positively influential role in my life. And it has brought more and more people together. My wife is NOT a comic book collector, and has not been since childhood in the 1970's but she is a coffee drinker. When I saw this place on YELP I knew my wife and I would want to stop by. She likes her coffee. But I was not impressed with the rather small selection of comics. I bought two only to support the local business. I doubt we will return. To be honest I'm not into comics BUT this place is really good! I got the pumpkin pie latte and the macadamia nut latte, both were super sweet! It was like putting pie in your mouth. So if u like sweet and rich drinks this place is for you. They also make their own whip cream and create the cutest colorful drinks. They have small bites too like avocado toast, bagels and breakfast burritos. The barista that was working this morning was so nice and she really knew her coffee stuff(sorry I didn't get her name) The only thing I'd recommend is have some tables outside so people can enjoy the nice weather. read more

We came here during a visit from the Bay Area. It was a really big space with cool merchandise. My kids got Metazoo cards and a pop figure. I got a drink called Arrow to the knee with elderflower and blueberry. It was really good! My daughter got a delicious fruity pebble frapp. We went back the next day to use a free drink card I won in the vending machine and to get an extra drink for my mom to try. I didn't see any new comics but they had a decent collection of older ones. They also had themed game nights which sounded really fun. We've been to many comic shops in different places, I loved that this one had the fun Cafe and bar in it. We will definitely be back on our next visit. read more
