This had to be the weirdest thrift store experience I have ever had. We were drawn to the shop by…read moregoogle and the zen name & signs out front. At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!

Non judgmental, nice folks, you got the picture. Couches, beer and wine, pizza too. Come by just hear hear the artists. And Carson City has a vibrant and excellent music scene. Open mic on Fridays too. In the thrift store there are wonderful treasures. Very eclectic mix of music memorabilia, fun retro stuff. See ya there!

To say I was blown away is an understatement. It's still got the quintessential CnC charm and humor, but amped up to 10 with lifesize displays, larger murals, more merch and those vibes we all love about this place! The bar area got a massive plus up in Sparks, with a full cocktail program, craft beers, and lots of delightful NA options too. The plush blue chairs look super inviting, and I can just imagine the fun times spent here hanging into the evening. Baristas are super friendly and the menu features all the faves from Reno, and then some! Here's the rub. It's hidden in a quiet corner of the best shopping center in all of Sparks. You've got CnC, Mountain Mike's, Smashin' Good Times, Paleteria del Angel, and Shang Hai restaurant all in the same spot, and you can have one helluva day just bouncing from one to the other. I sure hope my friends will find their way here to check it out for yourselves. They have awesome events and programs too, so scope the socials for the schedule and make a plan!

I came here to rock out and found myself enjoying a pulled pork sandwhich with a lavender soda which isn't very punk rock but the fuel definitely helped! Upon observation, I noticed old school arcade games, board games, comic books and many other things to make you enjoy your stay here. Definitely look forward to visiting on a regular business day.

The figure selection has been so so but nothing really worth being excited about. The prices for many items have also increased significantly. My kiddo was coming here for cinnamoroll, hutsune miku, chikawa, and spirited away items. However both hot topic and box lunch have had almost identical items for typically 15% less on average. It's a bummer because we liked coming here. Now it's kinda a let down.

I immediately knew I didn't like the store and wasn't going to buy anything after that experience. Since my kid really wanted to check out stuff in there, I put the pretzels on the table for about. I was kind of worried that someone crazy could put something in the food so just grabbed the pretzels anyway and stuck it in my coat pocket while my kid looked at the stuffed toys. I just got a tax return and was going to spend some money in there. My kid wanted a toy but I hated that place so much that I decided not to buy anything there and chose to shop for the toy on Amazon instead. There's a bad vibe right as you walk through the front door. This place will probably go out of business.

The park rangers are informative and helpful. I was able to stamp my travel book with the name of the park and image of a prairie wagon. Clean bathrooms. Everything we've wanted to learn about the Donner Party were explained to us by the park volunteer who gave us a free one-hour tour. Historical tours are offered at 11:00a and 1:00p. Thanks, Ron! Very informative! Included with the tour is a short walk to the Murphy Cabin. The inscription on the rock read "The face of this rock formed the north end and the fireplace of the Murphy Cabin." It also listed the names of the members of the Donner Party, those who perished and survived (see photo). Donner Pass is now fairly easily traversed, but the Donner Party were up against feet of heavy snow, and the wagons they were traveling in were no match for a modern four wheel drive. The terrain is famously rugged, so imagine passing over it with no road. Review #3556
