Also still offering alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to sip on while creating. The large wall of containers gives you many options for size, color and glass, metal, or ceramic bases. Take your time and explore equally large choices of scents. Then staffs walks you through weighing, mixing and pouring the wax. Since I was in town for the weekend, I decided to let it set for several and come back later to pick up. Not for first time at Maddy's. Love the way their candles burn. And it's a fun solo or group activity. Limited street parking in front or a city parking lot a block away.

The location is in a beautiful storefront with lots of historical charm and character, conveniently on the main street (which hopefully will bring in lots of foot traffic to this sweet spot). Not only do they help you make candles, but you can also buy pre-made candles (if you don't have the time to sit a spell and make your own) and other cute decor, unique art, or antiques. Mary was very helpful and friendly throughout the whole process: from selecting our vessels to determining which scent(s) to use or mix and finally constructing the final product. One of the main perks of making a candle at Maddy's Place is that you can come back with your vessel and refill it The other important ingredient to a girls night - wine, of course! - was also readily available and a great selection for their limited space. For the price of the candle (very reasonable compared to most custom/homemade candles), it was an enjoyable evening that was topped off with going out on the town for dinner and a few beverages while our candles cooled...what a perfect excuse to extend our girls night! I look forward to coming back with my kids to try one of the classes and/or candle dipping.

I feel it's one of the better souvenir shops because of all the train related merchandise. An above average selection of railroad-themed items but a vast amount of fun stuff and of course, Virginia City items. We also found antique items like a set of pole climbers that are over 100 years old! Hats, clothes, knives, books; etc. Like any souvenir shop it won't be great value for your money. But, here you'll find great folks with friendly faces that can spin a yarn like it just happened yesterday. Couple that with the huge variety of old west paraphernalia, it's a definite quality stop when visiting VC!

I work in VC, however my mom is older and disabled. Over the weekend, I parked on C Street (which I normally never do because the owner complained last time I parked there, even though it is public parking) however my mom is a tourist and purchased stuff them this shop. I run a veterans owned and operated gun shop in Carson City and we gave the owner a flier for a Veterans discounted CCW class last week, in which they hung it up for us. But since I decided to park in C Street because my mom is a visitor, and disabled, they decided to rip down our flier and throw it in the trash. Really, I've spent money here! I bought my mom a purse, I have bought hats, watched, belt buckles, etc. But because I parked (not even in front of there shop, it is in front of the old CLOSED down Mark Twain Museum) now I get treated this way? Fine, no more business from me! Every time I am in VC, I spend money almost everywhere I go, you know, supporting local businesses and stuff. Who are you to say where people can park on a PUBLIC highway? Btw, my mom spent about $50 here this weekend.

So if you miss the feel of the old Barbie and want to collect or get one for your child, this is the place to go! It's around $15-65. That's the average range depending on packaging, year, and rarity. There is also some extreme collection ones though that are higher priced and porcelain. But never seen this in a toy store before and it was pretty dang cool. They also have a crazy cool selection of 3D printed toys and characters which I thought was great. I was told the owner makes it with their family members so that's a nice mom and pop add on to the store. Definitely will be back!

Some were old toys I used to play with when I was a kid. The owner of the store was really nice. He talked about the history of some toys and how they worked. Really nice guy. I describe him as, the candyman of toys. The prices there weren't too bad either. My kid wanted this umbrella toy but they only had the display model available. He told us to come back tomorrow and he'd have more. I think they make some of their toys with a 3D printer or something. We'll be back again.
