Great food and good service. The menu has great variety. I will say it's a little pricey even for today's standards.

My family and I, decided to have brunch at this restaurant this past Sunday! It was absolutely terrible!!! Waited 45 minutes before we were seated. The waitress arrives at the table 10 minutes later, waitress takes our order, party of 7, then 5 minutes later we receive our Bill! We were offered water, we drank. Our order was taken, we are about a hour and a half in. My family was socializing around the table and everyone commenting on how long the wait was taking. We flagged down our waitress to inquired on our food readiness, waitress said oh, it's on it's way out! Out turned into an additional 20 minutes later! After 20 additional minutes only 4 of the entrees were brought out and we were told that the two which were shrimp and grits were not coming out because they ran out of grits!!! What! After 1 hour of waiting you realize there are no grits!!! Reorder! When we received our food, it was horrible!! Manager time! We asked to speak with the manager, we had enough!!! Well guess how long it took for her to make her debut??? 15 minutes... I have had some unfavorable meals and services at restaurants as we all have, but I must say, at age 68, this was the worst I have ever experienced. The manager did apologize and stated she had a new staff of 7 days and charged us zero! I will never ever dine with that chain again. First and Last!!! read more

I will preface this review with the fact that this place has only been open for TWO WEEKS. Obviously it takes a while to get things right, so it's worth anyone else going to consider the same. Having said that, I had a good experience here. Anyone looking to eat here on the weekends can expect a wait from 15-30 minutes just depending on the time you arrive. It's also gonna take you a bit longer if you have a party of more than 4. The food at this point is slightly above average. The biscuits and gravy were great, the eggs were average, and the breakfast potatoes are honestly not very good. I'd recommend they cut the potatoes smaller so that they absorb some of the spices better. Outside of the food, I highly recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice, super delicious. Only other complaint I have is that you need to go up front to pay which can be chaotic with people waiting in line to get a seat, or just standing around waiting for their seat. Waitresses should ideally just take the card at your table. All in all, a good place to stop by and grab some grub, and I think once they get their pacing it'll be even more amazing. read more

We waited an hour for Sunday brunch. The shrimp and grits...4 small shrimp, 3 pieces of diced ham, shredded cheese, and some runny grits. I've had better grits from a hospital cafeteria. The French toast we ordered was not fully dipped and parts were cold and raw. The manager was very nice and confirmed the issue we pointed out. Let me just say we never ask for the manager...it was embarrassing for us to have to even ask. We will not be back. The restaurant choices in Clover are just sad for the most part. We'll go to Rock Hill, Belmont, or Charlotte from now own. Just tired of spending a lot of money on poor quality food. read more

Just passing thru and saw the parking lot full at 9:30 on the Sunday morning after Thanksgiving so we stopped to give them a try - it was a wonderful experience. Great food and even better service. I can see why the lot was full. French toast was great and the breakfast burrito was first rate. I want to love this place because Lake Wylie has very limited options. Maybe they're going through a staff training thing, but I've been twice this week and ordered the same breakfast: pancakes with grits and eggs. Both times the pancakes were doughy and soggy and the grits were cold. Service has been a little inattentive. Never received a coffee refill I asked for first time; second time never saw a server to ask for a water refill. I'm hopeful this is staff transition and the kinks will be worked out, although I've noticed this downward trend for awhile. Other customers are right. This chain is expensive at no fault of the local operations. But given you pay close to $40 for two breakfast plates and beverages (plus tip) your food should be thoroughly cooked, hot, and you should be offered a drink refill. read more

Haven't had B&G this good in years! On a business trip to Charlotte, I wanted to pop over to Lake Wiley just to take in the sights. Highly recommend this breakfast place. Staff was cery courteous. Overall a good place for breakfast or brunch. I do find the way they prepare omelets to be odd, it's like an egg burrito with all of the toppings rolled inside the egg. SOOOO......what in the world is going on with this place? Ordered two burgers today to go. One regular cheese burger well done and one southwest burger well done no buns on either. I pick it up and drive all the way back to my office and open up a cheeseburger with bun rare. (which is not awful) But then the other southwest burger was literally just a burger on top of an old piece of lettuce. The southwest burger is supposed to have pico de gallo, avocado, jack cheese, and diced jalapenos. I didn't have time to take it all the way back and was starving so i literally ate a plain burger or a piece of ground meat with nothing on it and wasn't even seasoned good. On top of all of this ordered fruit for the side and it was disgusting not even edible! This was $24 for two crappy burgers and rotten fruit. The prices are higher so I expect more when going here! I might as well went to Mcdonalds considering at least there burgers are tasty. Second time I've been here and it just keeps getting worse! read more

Generally we have a great experience at this famous Toastery location but today that was not the case. Waited 5 minutes to be greeted standing at the front desk while 5 workers including the manager stood there. One employee even looked at me and then put a sticker on another's back. Then it took 20 mins to even get drinks. The waitress came over to take our order, after we received our food no one ever asked how everything was or if we needed anything. The waffle wasn't crispy, the berry compote was 2 blueberries and a slice of strawberry, and the biscuits and gravy were way too salty. When we went to leave the manager was running to go orders out to cars while others stood at the desk. In previous visits we have seen extra covid 19 sanitation like wiping the doors down but this visit employees weren't wiping doors and other high touch surfaces. read more

I don't complain much at all. The highlight of this place was the coffee was hot. The service was okay, no one asked how our food was and I had to flag someone down for more coffee. I got the famous hash with over easy eggs. The eggs were barely cooked ( the egg white was still raw) the potatoes were cold and so was the meat. The hollandaise sauce was also cold and tasted like it was from a tube. We also got French toast that wasn't cooked all the way and the bacon was cold and crunchy. Was not expecting a 5 star breakfast in anyway but was at least expecting some hot tasty food. Instead everything was undercooked and cold. I was going to say something but again no one came to check to see how we were enjoying our food. And I wasn't going to go out of my way to complain to the staff because I'm not that guy. We've been going to Toast in Fort Mill for years so we were excited to see one open up in Lake Wylie. Unfortunately, this place is awful. Waited for 30 minutes for a table, which doesn't sound bad. However, we counted 11 open tables. My wife tries to order two different entrees, both of which they didn't have. Then we proceeded to wait 40 minutes for our food, and they forgot my daughters order. I wish I could give it zero stars. The Lake Wylie Toast location is going to end up like the Burger King. I'll never eat here agWe'll drive the extra 15 minutes to Fort Mill. Update 12/26: thank you to the owner, Jason, for reaching out. It shows that you care about customers. Very disappointing! Waited 35 minutes for our food and both orders were stone cold when they finally arrived. Waitress apologized said new order would be right out. Manager apologized and said they would take 50% off our order which was nice except we waited and waited for our replacement order. We finally gave up and told the front desk we were leaving. She said, "But the server is cooking your meal". What? Where is the cook? Sorry we will never go there again. read more

I would have to say the place was not disappointing, the food tasted good, the only issue I had was I was asked what type of drink I wanted s so of course with me eating breakfast orange juice was the best choice you would think. I was told they reference it as golden liquid but I was not told that that tiny glass was going to cost me five dollars for an orange juice, I can go to Walmart and get an entire gallon for $1.29, so that really upset me when I got my bill and saw a four dollar and50 Cent cup of orange juice that was smaller than my glass of water read more

We ate at the Famous Toastery this week and it was my first visit. The shrimp and grits were wonderful. I had the banana nut pancakes and bacon. It was perfect and I did not use the syrup because it was too good without it. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and refreshing. I plan to go there a lot more. Very enjoyable! read more

So, if you place an order at this location for pickup via Yelp and Grub Hub, plan on it not going through. This morning my order was scheduled to be ready between 8:15 - 8:25. I have been inside twice, called 3 times, left and came back, and am still waiting in the parking lot at 9:45. There has to be a better way to go about supporting local businesses, not how I wanted to spend Mother's Day just trying to get a meal for my wife. This is ridiculous. The food is delicious especially the sourdough bread. The big problem I keep having is the cost. You only get one piece of toast with your breakfast. But one day they say you get two slices and I'm not charged. Then another day I get charged for getting two slices. Another day I ask and I'm told two different stories by two different servers. I wish everyone was on the same page. That is the problem when everyone is your server. My bill is always inconsistent for the same exact meal. It's frustrating. First experience was average, 2nd time Last month I got the tres leches French toast, it was a big chunk of shitty bread pudding with icing drizzled over it. It was inedible. Tried again today at my dads request, he asked for his potatoes extra crispy, came out mushy. I got the country Benedict with sausage gravy, they were out of country ham so I said normal ham was ok. Wasnt too busy when i went. Server was rude and had a bit of an attitude. I ordered a beverage the cup was dirty. I saw the servers do numerous things that were unsanitary and not up to par when it comes to a restaurant. For some reason it takes 30 mins to make a plate of french toast. I could've when home and came back by the time it was done. It was okay tho. A little soggy. But my main complaint is the service. It is actually terrible. I am giving them 1 star because 0 isn't an option. I love Famous Toastery, but I will never come back to this location again! I brought my family here for breakfast and everything started off fine, then we were seated. Our waitress took way to long to come to the table and get our drink order then it took her 15 minutes to bring drinks and take the food order. Before you say it, no they were not busy or understaffed. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the food. Every single plate of food was ICE COLD! We sent back the first plate of potatoes that was cold and they microwaved it. That's what you want, right? The waitress did not bring our food out or check on us once. I had to get up 2 times to go to the kitchen and ask for catchup, napkins, a fork, and to get refills on drinks. When it was time to leave I went to the counter to pay the bill and told the nice girl I would like to speak to the manager because I did not like the service the food or the experience. She sincerely apologized and went to get the manager. When she returned the "manager" was our server! I explained the entire situation to her and she said and I quote, "sorry will that be cash or credit?" I will never bring my family there again! read more

We just had our first visit and we have very mixed reactions! The food was great, but the presentation leaves a bit to be desired. Our server was relatively attentive, very friendly. When we walked in (1:00 ish) the majority of the tables were covered in used dishes, busing the tables seemed to be a very low priority and very off putting. We were told to sit "any where" so we were fortunate to find a table that had been cleaned. Last, I totally don't understand how you could have a full bar but serve NO wine other than champagne - huh??!! We may give it another try, but not sure. read more

First experience with this location. I should have taken a few minutes to read reviews. Ordered through Yelp with Grub Hub and received notification order was ready for pickup. Arrived at restaurant and was told the kitchen was working on one item remaining for the order. Waited 10 additional minutes and was then told they never received the order due to "iPad issues" related to Yelp and Grub Hub ordering. They would place the ticket ahead of 2 others and have it ready in 2-3 minutes. That should have been a red flag. Home with food...no syrup and breakfast pizza needed an extra 10 minutes in oven to even be edible. 8 months have passed since similar review about Yelp and Grub Hub orders not being received. Issue still needs to be addressed. read more
