I ordered the standard American breakfast which consisted of grits and home fries, scrambled eggs, bacon, and turkey sausage. Just left this establishment and have never felt more uncomfortable. For starters, I will be honest and say that the issue was not the food, but more so the professionalism in terms of staff and management. As a customer who is presenting to you a hair in their food only to be looked at with unpleasant looks and rolled eyes is disheartening and disappointing. There was no offer of remaking of the food...etc. I say all this to say....treat others how you'd like to be treated or stay out of a customer service based field. Arrived mid morning on a Saturday, waited about 20-25 minutes for a seat for 2, not bad. Our server was very attentive and responsive. The chicken fried steak meal with gravy was excellent, everything came out hot and fresh! My eggs were cooked correctly (over medium) and the potatoes side was hot and well flavored! like that the condiments, butter etc are already on the table for you- nothing is worse than your pancakes or grits getting cold waiting for butter! My husband really enjoyed his cinnamon French toast and the bacon was perfectly cooked, not too crisp, not too "floppy". Placed a pick up order on a Thursday morning for 10:45. Waited at the front counter without being greeted for 10-15 minutes and another 10 for my food to be brought to me. It was clearly visible on the expo line from the front door. The manager was the one to hand me my food by simply sticking her arm out with the bag and saying my name, not even a smile. After receiving my food, it was cold. Brought the food back in to be remade and not once received an apology from the manager. I've worked in the food service industry my whole life, and it is basic common knowledge for the manager to handle any customer complaints, or at least apologize for the troubles. I visited here on a Sunday morning. Things were very chaotic as soon as I was arrived there was a humongous line in the front of the door with no staff to organize things to tell people where to sit or put names on the list I I had to find someone to ask to put my name on the list so that starts out creating a negative experience and then once I'm finally seated, it seems as if the restaurant has biases towards blk ppl versus white bc there was a couple that sat beside me that came way after I did that receive their food way faster than I did, and then there was another couple on the other side of me. That was the same complexion as me whose order came out completely wrong and messed up nobody ever came out to apologize for the delay on how long it took our food to come out. The waiter went missing at so we weren't able to pay for the food until one of the managers noticed the disgruntle look on my boyfriend's face and ask us what's the problem funny that she was the one at the order window, literally passing out food and orders. She literally brought that couple food to them that was next to me that I mentioned earlier, but she failed to notice how long it took them to bring out our food and apologize though. At this point, I am tired of paying my hard earned money to these establishments and being treated unfairly The food is OK but if they gave "management" employees training on racial bias, I think that would improve the atmosphere because being a person a color you can definitely feel the energy in this place is different towards you when it comes to the way some of the staff caters towards some of the guests versus the others. read more
