I take minor issue with two things: (1) the time it took to receive my takeout order. It was over 20 minutes, and while I waited, folks walked in, placed new orders, got good, ate, and left before mine was ready. Probably a kitchen oversight, so no big deal. (2) there are no espresso based drinks here, which is quite surprising for a place with "café" in the name. There was a self-serve American coffee station however. Such a great place to visit, my friends and I came after hiking crowder mountain. It's about 20 mins from the mountain which makes it a perfect stop before going home. The food is fresh and yummy. Sprouts has been a local lunch spot for me for many years. In the last year my meal quality has declined over time. This last visit was the last straw. I stopped in for lunch and decided to have my fave...curry tuna. I was not pleased. This establishment is a two part business. There is a store front and a restaurant. When I first pulled in, I was confused because the store portion was closed. I then drove to the back, and voila, the restaurant was located. As you enter, there's a small rack in the middle of room where the menus are stored. Next to the rack is a daily menu blackboard. I missed the rack storing the menu, so I stood at the counter, read the menu and placed my order. My husband had the salmon BLT wrap without the bacon (FYI: the bacon is turkey). I could immediately tell he did not like it. Call it woman's intuition lol. I offered him my vegan burger and I had half of the salmon wrap. I honestly believe a little more seasoning and a sauce would have greatly enhanced the flavor of the salmon wrap. We looked for hot sauce, but we didn't find any on the tables. The lake slaw was good. The side of fruit was also good. The vegan burger was very tasty and well received. My husband wanted one to go. I ordered the vegan pancakes and the vegan waffle, along with an impossible burger to go. I didn't enjoy the pancakes and waffle texture, but my husband ate his burger. The restaurant feels cozy. There is a garden out front that I believe they grow a lot of the veggies used inside which reminds me a lot of my Fav in Durham, NC (Refectory Cafe). The daily board is always updated with a main dish the chef decided to make in addition to the normal menu for the day. It also list the special sides for the day. I almost ALWAYS get the chef special just because that's something that you may not see again. My FAVS include but are not limited to: Turkey BLT Veggie Burger Curry Tuna Red Eye Juice Fruit Smoothie Did I mention all the FAB waters, juices, organize snacks and treats that you can think of. I honestly feel ashamed that I haven't written a review sooner. This is my favorite place to eat in the world. I get so frustrated with normal restaurants and their lack of quality, or if they deign to give me quality, to make me pay an arm and a leg for it. This restaurant gives me fresh, REAL, incredibly flavorful food every single time for an incredibly reasonable price. I try to treat myself to a meal here at least once a week, but often find myself going more. Excuse the poor food photography, but the picture below is a fresh housemade brussel sprout salad that explodes with flavor, and a grilled chicken sandwich perfectly cooked with a brioche bun, topped with caramelized Onions, Tomato Jam, avocado, mixed Greens Feta/Mozzarella Cheese Blend and Garlic Herb Aioli. The first bite sent me to heaven, the second bite made me realize what a fool I've been for not writing a review sooner. I love this place and the chef here deserves every award for quality food possible.
