Don't choose a book by its cover. From the outside it doesn't look like much. Even when walking in it's not even a warm fuzzy feeling. But the service and food were delicious. Coffee was good and staff very friendly. That southern charm. Prices are reasonably and I really liked how the silverware was in plastic wrap. Give it a try. Yummy grits!!

Fried flounder...fried squash...green beans and hushpuppies

I fell in love with this place but they have let me down too many times...squash and hushpuppies were black...fish was clearly refried...so hard it snapped like a cracker...manager immediately told me that i would have to contact DD and apologized..I got my money back but wanted her to know that her employees actually served this crap to a customer...I love their green beans but threw them away too...this place has so much potential...their vegetables are so good but they need to do better...the cornbread is normally missing...as it was yesterday...I'm sad to say that after many bad meals I will never order from them again...I really didn't want to put them on blast but yesterdays meal was just so unbelievable...sad part is I was so hungry I still tried to eat some of it but it was just too bad/burned...I had to order another meal...

This is what was in my box! Is this a joke?

How does a restaurant sell home fries that look like baby home fries? Horrible shame. Eggs and bacon good. But don't waste your money there. The Cook doesn't know that you don't serve crumbs of home fries.

My turkey and dressing lunch with squash casserole and macaroni salad. Yes I like pepper. My boyfriend's pancakes included.

Nice little dive in Mt. Holly! Great breakfast and lunches. We usually visit at least once a week. Quick service and friendly people too.

Newly remodeled. Great service Food came out hot and delicious. Will be coming here again soon.

BBQ sandwich, shrimp plate, kids chicken tenders in the back.

Very friendly staff. Food about what you'd expect in small town grill. A good place to meet friends.

This place is awful. Even the Mountain Dew tasted musty. AVOID! Owner is super rude on top of it all. Take your money else where!

We arrived about an hour before close and had amazing service and great food. Everyone at our table got to enjoy the salad bar. Though it's basic it hits all of the necessary parts. The salad dressings are homemade and there two different coleslaw's and Mac salad. My niece and mom feel in love with both of them. The ranch was so delicious that I dipped my popcorn shrimp, yes my calabash shrimp into the ranch and truthfully I should've asked for a cup of ranch to go to eat my leftover shrimp with. I will definitely come back even though I'm not a big seafood connoisseur. I really enjoyed the simple salad bar and the variety on the menu. My dad also wants to try the all you can eat, but since we arrive late, it was not a good choice for us during this visit. This visit didn't ruin Jekyll & Hyde for me--but it definitely confirmed that consistency is not…read moretheir strong suit. I'd been here once before late night in the taproom with the smaller bar menu. That experience was fine. Not amazing, not bad--decent food, decent drinks, decent service. Very low-key and very different from this visit. So when we were nearby again before heading out to see Christmas lights, it felt like an easy, familiar option. Unfortunately, this time was a completely different story. Service was extremely slow from the start. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get drinks and an appetizer, and water refills were basically nonexistent. I eventually got up and refilled our water myself while watching the server refill other tables. We were there for almost 2.5 hours, which felt excessive given the pace and crowd level. Food was all over the place. Three meals had to be sent back. My BLT showed up with maybe two strips of limp bacon, soggy toast, wilted lettuce, and red peppers instead of the onions I asked for. Rather than remaking it, they just brought out two more equally limp strips of bacon. Two burgers ordered medium/medium-rare came out well done--even though the menu clearly shows doneness levels with photos, which made that miss even more confusing. On the bright side, the potato soup was excellent--probably the best thing we had--but it arrived lukewarm after a long wait. Other dishes like the scallops, Cajun Alfredo, and chicken sandwich were genuinely good, which just added to the confusion. A manager did drop off food and briefly acknowledge the issues, but there was no real apology or follow-up. I don't expect comps, but with this many problems and slow service, the lack of accountability was noticeable. Used plates from appetizers and sides that were clearly finished sat on the table for most of the meal. When dishes were cleared, the server often asked people who were still actively eating rather than removing the empty or stacked plates that were ready to go, which only added to the overall lack of attention and awareness. Between the inconsistent food, very slow service, and an overall lack of attention to detail, this visit just didn't work. It seems like one of those places where you might get a great meal--or you might spend hours wondering what went wrong. For now, it's firmly in the meh, proceed with caution category for me.
