Fried Green Tomatoes wonderful

Best restaurant in Gaston county?!?! Absolutely: The food is unbelievable. Every single bite is unreal!!! The vibe, the SERVICE, the FOOD, just wow. No one could ever go wrong with anything ordered. I could list paragraphs about all the positives...... but I'll just list a few. The chop steak, the yard bird, the Caesar, the poached pear salad, the house made chips and house made sauces, the fried green tomatoes, the sides, all the pasta dishes!! Bottom line - the love, the quality, the flavors are all a testament to the amazing chef/owner and you will be blown away.

Honestly, it was our first time dining here and we were impressed. They able to accommodate our larger party (10) without a reservation, and made it seem like we were the only people there, even in a full restaurant - the service was that great! The food was also delicious! From the kids Mac and cheese to the liver mush croutons, everything was top notch. I highly recommend starting with the pork belly...that was delightful - cooked perfectly and the sauce on it was yum! Everyone at the table said their food was good and we would all come back again. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this spot out!

What a hidden gem in the quaint town of Cramerton! Food was absolutely delish and service was great as well. I had the salmon over grits, a friend had a burger and another got the scallops. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It's upscale vibes without the ridiculously overpriced of paying for more of ambience than quality food. We got the sweet potato creme brûlée to share and let me tell you, that was the best thing ever! So velvety and creamy without being overly sugary. It was the perfect amount of sweet and we couldn't get enough of it. Portion sizes are great as well.

We checked out the newly opened Skillet Southern Bistro in Cramerton on a Friday night, and it's safe to say it's off to a strong start! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, seated promptly, and enjoyed attentive service throughout the evening. The vibe was cozy yet lively and perfect for a relaxing end-of-week dinner. We kicked things off with cocktails, and both of mine were impressive. The cucumber basil martini was refreshingly crisp, and the blueberry lemonade martini packed the perfect balance of tart and sweet. For starters, we tried the coffee pork belly appetizer, and WOW! This was the star of the night. Rich, tender, and full of flavor, we'd come back for that dish alone. Dinner didn't disappoint either. The crab cake entrée was well-seasoned with minimal filler, and the shrimp and grits were creamy, comforting, and everything you'd want in a Southern staple. We had just come back from the beach and clearly weren't ready to let go of seafood season LOL. To end the meal, we ordered a strawberry balsamic dessert to go, which was tasty, but our server left us with a little food FOMO by showing us the banana pudding. Next time, that's definitely our pick!! All in all, a great addition to the area. Thoughtful dishes, standout cocktails, and a comfortable atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and my meal will be cocktails, pork belly entree, and banana pudding

Wow, impressed! Very helpful and cordial staff. Ample space inside, a bit noisy but spacious. Food was absolutely fantastic. I got the steak sandwich which was perfect and the best color I think I've ever had. Wife got the Cajun chicken pasta and it was also very very good.

Shrimp and Grits

Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Cramerton. Started with the Coffee rubbed pork belly with a Chardonnay. The to the Shrimp and Grits for the main. Finished off with dessert. Amazing food and service. We need more restaurants like this to be supported. Will absolutely be back for more.

Crab cake appetizer

Great lunch spot. Sat out back and enjoyed a quiet spot under an umbrella. I had crab cake and fried green tomato appetizer (and really good fries) and husband had shrimp tacos with side of Mac and cheese. Great meal with right size portions!

Tilly's Messy Burger. SO good.

Came to celebrate my husband's birthday, and chose Old Stone because it had a kid's menu and we want a "family friendly fancy" environment. Our server was just, eh. In a way he seemed bothered to have a table. Chalked it up as maybe a bad night, but it didn't enhance our experience. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, and the pork belly itself was burnt and the peaches were mushy - almost baby food texture. A miss for us. The steaks, again, amazing, perfectly cooked - even my daughter's steak tips. The sides however, another miss. The kids fries were mushy, and tasted like they had been sitting out a while. My husband's mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant/from a box and lacked the bright white color or fluffy texture. My wedge salad was drenched in dressing, and the dressing itself was runny. It certainly wasn't what I anticipated for a steakhouse wedge. It seemed like a rushed after thought. The other part that was a letdown - every single plate we were handed was broken. Every single one. When you're paying steakhouse prices, I'd like to see presentable plates. One, sure I could see it slipped by, but every one? That's just laziness on replacing them in my opinion. I'll say it a third time, steaks were delicious...but the rest, well it was just lacking, and not sure the steaks hold their own to justify another trip.

This location will be a regular stop for when we decide to go out. Rundown: Pros: - FOOD is SUPERIOR! Large portions, fresh ingredients, everything came out piping hot. - ROLLS are bigger and fluffier than any location I have visited. - DREW at the bar was an exquisite server/bartender. Wonderfully attentive and friendly. Perfection when it comes to service. - CLEAN. - FAST. Food rolled out quickly despite the crowd. - PRICES are lower than other locations I have visited. Plus high quality? Yes. - EFFICIENT. Can't beat it. Cons: - Crowded, but what location isn't on a Saturday evening? You might have a wait. We were lucky and got spots at the bar upon walking in. - Parking lot. Small - park over by Honeybaked Ham and walk. You'll need those steps anyway after this meal.

There was a little bit of a wait but not long. Warm rolls are brought to your table when seated. Kyle was my waiter and kept my tea full and even got me a new steak when the first wasn't the way I ordered it. I went with the Dallas Filet but whatever I was brought out first was a well done sirloin. My replacement was not cooked as long but still not really a filet quality but much better than the first steak. The baked potato and Caesar salad were great and the rolls. The steak was ok but not the quality I expected. Overall this is a good option in Gastonia to dine.

So we checked locally and discovered a new (to us) Greek restaurant. My wife and I arrived about 7:00 PM on Thursday, after having made an online reservation. When we arrived, plenty of open booths , so we were seated and brought menus. Any new Greek place we must try their Spanakopita so we ordered one to split. We also decided to split a Greek Salad and a Moussaka. Our Spanakopita came quickly. We divided it and tested. Hmm. Not bad, but not what we're used to having. We actually prefer more filo than here. Her salad came and we divided part of it also. It was crisp, cold and yummy. After a bit my Moussaka arrived. To our surprise it came in a custard bowl and looked like a Shepherd's Pie. Unusual since we've always been served Moussaka in squares like a Lasagna. It was fantastic, a perfect blend of meat and vegetables. Of course next we needed dessert. My wife couldn't decide on the Baklava Cheesecake or the Caramel Cheesecake, so she got both! I liked the Caramel but so sweet I had to drink water with it. Good food, nice ambiance. Service a bit slow and told us they did have a military discount, but somehow forgot to use it. There appeared to be huge dividing panel that maybe closed off larger room for special events.

The moment we walked through the doors, we felt the relaxed, upbeat atmosphere that makes you want to sit back, enjoy yourself, and dig into some good food. We had a feeling this place was going to deliver, and it absolutely did! The service deserves a shout-out of its own. Our server was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything, while the rest of the staff greeted us with smiles and genuinely positive attitudes. You can tell when a restaurant has a good vibe throughout the entire team, and Groovy Beast definitely has it! The food? Straight-up delicious! My wife went with the Garlic Parmesan wings, which were seasoned perfectly and fried to a gorgeous golden crisp. I created my own UFO Double Burger with bacon, egg, and Swiss cheese, and that monster of a burger did NOT disappoint! It was massive, juicy, flavorful, and loaded with everything I wanted. In hindsight, I probably could've conquered a single instead of the double! The sides deserve some love, too. The fries were crispy and tasty, and the onion rings were spot-on--not overly thick or paper-thin, just the perfect balance of crunch and flavor. Groovy Beast has the complete package: great food, generous portions, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome. It's the kind of place you discover and immediately start wondering why you didn't try it sooner. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!
